Every time I stop at this place or call when they say the website says they are open, there is no one there and no answer on the phone .I'd give zero stars but it won't let me post if I do

Dropped off a custom BMX bike i got that needed rear brakes. The bike required some extra parts to function how I wanted but the shop was great and ordered them for me. They called me to let me know what was happening as they worked on it, when I dropped it off they gave me an estimate time period, even with the need to order an extra part they still got the bike done in a timely manner. Everything feels great and I cant wait to do the tiniest of bunny hops off the curb while riding around town this summer.Will certainly go back if I ever need anything else or repairs. The staff were also super pleasant and easy to work with.

I've always had great experiences with these guys. I like to go in periodically to say hi to the staff and pet the owner's dogs. Their staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I left my skis with them to be tuned, but decided to go skiing again before they were done. They took the time to sharpen them and wax them while I waited, which I really appreciated.

Not the best experience. Dropped my skis of for tune up and wax, was told the skis were in great shape and would be ready in a week. Week goes by, I stop in and was told they're not ready but would be ready Friday night. Go in there on Saturday, ask for my skis and was told they were "done" but need 10 more minutes for "something". 45 minutes goes by and its obvious that they were just starting to work on it then. When it was finally done was charged an extra $13.00 for base repair. Funny, when I dropped the skis off I was told they were in great shape. Not going there again.

Took the whole family in to buy starter (used) sets of skis and boots, very knowledgeable staff, great price for package. As we were going skiing that day they fast tracked us and tuned the skis and adjusted the bindings for all four of us in less than 2 hours. Highly recommend them.

Terrible experience. I dropped off my Skis for a tune up on December 1st and was told they would be done in a week. The staff took my number so I figured they'd call me right? Wrong. Almost 2 weeks later on the morning of December 12th I called to inquire about the status of my Skis. I was told my Skis were "currently" being worked on and I could stop by at 4pm. I came at 4:45pm and they were not done. Not only that but no one seemed to care that I was patiently waiting for a pair of skis I was told would be done. The owner aggressively argued with a customer in front of other customers, I've never seen someone act so stubborn or narrow minded in their own perception. All in all I waited over an hour in the shop while only one worker seemed to care that I was there. The work structure was very disorganized and did not put the customer first. I should mention that they were not busy by any means. There was a total of 3 maybe 4 customers including myself during the hour I spent there. I will not be returning here and I would recommend you don't offer them your business. Shop local, but not here.

I had been experiencing some knee pain when riding long distances so I brought my bike in for a proper fit. The service provided by Jeff and the Bikes & Boards team was exceptional. Not only did they set me up on my bike properly, but they actually listened to what I was saying in regards to how I felt on my bike and used that feedback to improve my ride. That same day on my ride back from the shop my knee pain was gone (it still is a few weeks later) and I was back to spinning down the local country roads. Highly recommend a bike fit with Jeff and the Bikes & Boards shop overall. Fairly priced, knowledgeable and friendly staff, exceptional service.

Brought in a pair of new skis to have the bases ground as, in the past, service work has been quite good. Picked them up today and they were TERRIBLE- worse than when they were brought in!The person who did the work obviously doesn't know even what a regular grind is, much less a race prep, as he told me that he had done it the way he thinks it should be done, and how he does all of them. I was told that the older fellow, who's work was impeccable, is no longer there and it would appear that no one with sufficient knowledge of base prep is offering training or supervision.New gear can be purchased anywhere, but good service is worth paying (and travelling) for, sadly, it's no longer found here. I'm told that the fellow running the shop at McCauley is top notch.....

After being gone from the area for 20 years it was a good to see Bikes and Boards has weathered the internet storm in regard to buying ski equipment online. Mike knows the ski industry well and is very knowledgeable about equipment. Good deals and good people. You can't get both online.

Brought snowboard in for base repair, wax, and sharpen. Said it would take maybe a week and they would call when it was finished. Had to call them 2 1/2 weeks later to see if it was done yet. It was. Came in the following day to pick up the snowboard and the board looked like garbage. It had wax runs all over it, was not smooth at all and the gouges were barely filled in and some still had chunks out of them. They also sanded one of my edges down to the grooves. Had to wait an hour for them to re do it and it's still not all that great. Its smooth , but the resurfacing job was done terribly. I'd go somewhere better.

Taking my business some where else. Ordered a $100.00 ski helmet and was told it would be in yesterday. Stopped in to pick it up and now being told Monday. Almost two weeks! That was the last straw after putting up with most of the employees and their attitudes.With the exception of one employee they all have attitudes as though your bothering them. I will not be back and will never recommend Bikes & Boards to anyone!

Great local shop, I've purchased bikes, boards, and skis in the past, all great dealings. Just brought my board in for repair and wax. They did an amazing job, looks new. Great Job! Thanks to Mike and the crew at bikes and boards.

Love these guys. I can't see why some people have had a bad experience with this shop. The prices are fair, the people are friendly and respectful. I have had them work on my ride multiple times, ordered roof racks for my car, special order hard to find parts, etc. They've excelled at it all.As for their dedication: cant say enough. I have a Cannondale Prophet 2000 Lefty with oil disc brakes. Previous shops kept getting the cable length incorrect. If I fell (or turned too sharply) the hose would kink and I'd lose all pressure in the line and the front brake would be useless. I took my bike to this shop and their mechanic took the time to listen to my problem and come up a novel solution. He installed it correctly - the first time! OMG! Who'da thunk it!? I've not had a problem since the brake was serviced by them.Anyway, I think these guys are top notch.

What a bunch of douche bags! Went in to pick-up a part that I paid and ordered last Thursday only to get the stink eye from all four employees! Not sure who pissed in their cheerios, but normal customer service would mean some level of courtesy. Not only that, but I ordered the part last Thursday only to hear some song and dance this Wednesday when I called them about the order being held-up cause "orders were on hold" - he had to "clean that up". Only decent employee is the cool dude with the red beard- guess I'll have to get his schedule if I ever go back to there. Wow. If you hate your job, go work somewhere else or get out of customer service!!!

The Shop for ski and snowboard. Not anymore. Vobif and issued with the owner have basically put them out of business. Dad because at one time it was the place to go. No where else in the area for ski and snowboard. Has been slowly going under for the past few years.

Thanks Will and Marcus for the excellent customer service regarding the Marker 110mm ski brake for a "Squire" binding. I was unable to find the exact ski brake after several calls and a visit to a local ski shop in Central New York on 26 Jan 2016. A search of the internet was going to be the last area for purchase but would have prevented our son from using his ski's on Friday the 29th. By shear luck my wife and I were in Utica, NY to visit a friend. When leaving Utica we happened upon a small ski shop in New Hartford, NY ..... Bikes & Boards.Upon entering the store I was greeted with a friendly "Hello" and asked what I could be helped with. Both Marcus and Will said that they should have what I was looking for and proceeded to the tech shop. Will and Marcus provided me with a new set of Maker 110mm ski brakes and I was extremely satisfied that they could accommodate my need for the replacement part on the binding. My wife could not believe that I had the part. Our 16 year old son was very pleased!Thanks Marcus and Will! Manager Jeff is whiny, miserable, and undersireable to deal with. Depressing Tyler is not much better.. I will not purchase OR have even the smallest of repairs done at Bikes and Boards. Not worth the risk on your own equipment. Better luck and I hope the owner straightens out this mess going on at his establishment.
