The hostess was super positive on the phone on a Friday night when I asked about a fish fry. She greeted us with the same friendly enthusiasm. Our server was pleasant and our food was perfect. Everything fresh and the quality and flavors were excellent. We had the calamari app. Fresh not frozen calamari, great flavors, not over cooked and light hand breaded. Homemade coleslaw and tartar and fresh cut fries. Fresh salad with slices apples, oranges, dried cranberries and we opted for the homemade blue cheese. Wine, beer and cocktails options abound. Great job to all! THANK YOU!

This was a nice last stop on our weekend getaway to Hammondsport. We were just wandering through town and the menu looked inviting. The waitstaff was hustling but did their best to accommodate the crowd. We decided on the Tuscan-style calamari for an appetizer and a couple of the sandwich selections for our mains. I had the balsamic grilled chicken and my wife opted for the timber burger. The food was great, the house fries were a bit too salty but still pretty good. The overall experience was great and we would definitely hit this place up if we were out that way again. I was also impressed that they had Ithaca brewing root beer available. It's one of my favorites.

Everything was great! I ordered the Timber Burger with fries and banana bread cake for dessert. The burger was a good size and fries were hot, salty and delicious. The banana bread cake was moist and very good with the chocolate chips inside and chocolate coating on the outside. Our waitress was wonderful! A member of my party has an uncommon allergy and the waitress was very attentive of this and genuinely cared to look into what she could eat. She reassured us and checked with the kitchen that there was something safe for her to eat. I will certainly return for their delicious menu and kind staff. 10/10

Great restaurant in the heart of Hammondsport but beware it gets busy so book ahead of time.Service was great as we had a party of 12 with 6 children. Our server was very helpful and made everyone comfortable. Food was quite good and they had a good bar selection. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent tempura battered fish sandwich! I highly recommend it! The kids menu had wonderful kids options. The service was fabulous. The location is right on the downtown strip. You can explore the town before or afterwards easily! This is a great place to eat when in the area. Indoor and outdoor seating!!!

Timber Stone Grill catered our wedding in Watkins Glen on 9/23/23 including food and beverages. Jeff was wonderful to work with from the very beginning. Our tasting was also AMAZING. He was very accommodating with special requests, dietary restrictions and adjusting the menu to be exactly how we wanted it! Our guests were all impressed with the food and the staff was all incredibly nice and made sure we had plenty to eat and drink the night of the wedding! No regrets on our choice of catering!

My hubby and I visited Hammonsport for 2 day on our drive home to Ontario, Canada and ate dinner here both nights! It was delicious food, staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was lovely:) we will be back!Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs

The service was good and the french onion soup was on point... but that's where the praise ends. First, they're over priced for what you get. While the food is fine, its extremely mediocre. $20 for a chicken ceasar and it was pre-cooked COLD chicken. $18 for a burger that was advised as being on brioche, but was served on a regular roll, and looked as though it should have cost $12. The old fashioned cocktail cost $12 but was really only worth about $8. We stopped because we were starving but doubt we will be back in the future.

We arrived pretty late at night not knowing what the hours were. Asking the host if the kitchen was still open. She gave us a huge smile and sat us even though they officially closed soon. Delightful meal with a nicely varied menu. The place is nestled inside a small shopping area of the small town. Definitely worth exploring or relaxing in

Best Restaurant around…I eat here at least 2/3 times a month.The food is just yummy and delicious. It’s high end comfort food. Fish fry is delicious (just like in London)Timber Burger is best burger ever and Ive eaten a ton of burgers…..Staff is very warm and inviting. Love the owner Kaylee….I also recommend this restaurant to at least 5 people every weekFries are delicious too (always hot and crispy but not too crispy.Vegetarian options: They have vegatatian options and would also make something if you needed for vegetarianKid-friendliness: My nephew comes with us sometimes and the staff has always been accommodating

Amazing! We had the tomato flatbread for an appetizer. My wife had the chicken bruschetta, I had the Ahi Tuna dinner Both were amazing. Ahi Tuna steaks can be tough if not cut properly. This one was perfect. Our server Brian was wonderful. Attentive but not too much so, very friendly, and dealt with my semi-sarcastic personality perfectly lol. Some people are meant to be in customer service others not so much, he is! As was the rest of the staff. They were very busy at the restaurant. They helped each other out, other servers picking up our used dishes as they ran by. Very impressive. And Brian got the last piece of "Brownie bottom" cheesecake for us... yummy! A great find! Highly recommend.. Can't say enough good things about our experience! We will be back!

First visit to the Timber Stone Grill while on vacation for my wife's Birthday. They have a nice outside patio seating section to go along with the inside dining and bar. The ambiance is pub style yet the menu and execution are upscale, along with the prices. We started with the Hearts of Romaine salad ($12) to share, a well dressed salad with shaved Parmesan cheese, peppercorn and baguette croutons which was very tasty. Next we had the Tuscan Style Calamari ($16), capers, olives, scallions, sweet peppers, this was very interesting and quite good, not your standard Calamari for sure.The Birthday girl had the Bistro Tenderloin ($38), with green beans and roasted garlic whipped potatoes piped into a decorative pillowy mound. She throughly enjoyed all, the tenderloin cooked to a perfect medium as requested.I went with the Bone in Ribeye ($46), topped with bacon, scallions and blue cheese crust with the green beans and whipped potatoes. My steak was a bit past medium as requested (one side stayed on too long as demonstrated by the uneven ring), the bacon and blue cheese where a nice addition as the steak sans crust was not that flavorful. I didn't feel it warranted the price as this in the league of steakhouses I frequent and this steak wasn't on that level unfortunately.We ended with 2 Lemon Cheesecakes ($8) served with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and regrettably raspberry sauce garnish which I feel they should ask if you would like added as neither of us like it. The Birthday girl had hers comped which was very nice.Our server Brian was a star, extremely personable and attentive, it was a pleasure watching him work his other tables as well and make time to chat, then wisk away to handle his next task.Overall we had a very nice time at the Timber Stone Grill, a pub with a fine dining menu and presentation. Interesting menu options with many fresh items. Try the jalapeno appetizer with the beef. Lots of local beer choices. Great entres and salads. Very nice modern rustic decor. Outside seating options.

An expensive mistake. We arrived Sunday evening (9/5) and asked for an outdoor table. The young host replied, "You really want to sit outside? I guess if you really want to," and led us in a huff to the mostly empty patio. Then we waited nearly 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order (two servers walked by us twice in that time setting up a table for a larger group that arrived several minutes later). We ordered two grain bowls (one shrimp, one tofu) and a calamari appetizer and two drinks -- and it was nearly $90. The food was nicely presented but really bland. Our server was nice enough once she found time to help us but we'd never go back. We understand that people are short-staffed but listening to servers complain loudly about their long hours while charging us premium prices for mediocre food is not how you do a restaurant.

Update - Food still delicious a year later. Service was good. Prices on par with other eateries in Hammondsport, which is $$-$$$. A great option.Good food. Limited menu options, and the service was a little slow. Two tables came and went before we could get on our way. The burger I got was good and the 4-cheese grilled cheese looked good as well. Nice local beer selection. Parking lot small, but street parking in many locations around compensates.

This restaurant was such a pleasant surprise! We couldn't get reservations at 2 other restaurants on a Saturday in Oct so we tried Timber Stone and we are so happy we did. We were a party of 7 and every person loved their meal. The food was delicious! The atmosphere was also very welcoming and comfortable and the service was quick and friendly. I am still thinking of their garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was great and the price was very reasonable.

First off, the food was incredible. However, everything else was extremely unfortunate. We had a party of 14. We were split into 2 tables - however, they treated us as one party and refused to do split checks even after they said they could split it three ways. They then said they could split it evenly which certainly would not work. It was an absolute disaster and incredibly frustrating. One person in our party spoke with the manager. The manager claimed the person who made the reservation said to do one bill. Not true. They also spilled dressing all over a member of our party and had to be reminded to bring a salad after they brought soup instead (we waited a very long time for it to come). The waitress also did not seem to have a good grasp of the menu. The soups and salad took an extremely long time to come out as well. The good food was soured by the poor experience. We will never return.
