We had a reserved wine tasting here that was the last of three. This was by far our favorite tasting experience. Molly was our server and was super friendly and was happy to answer our million questions. There were quite a few wines and even a growler of cider that we ended up purchasing. Lots of variety here for any palette.

The wine tasting was great. We did the reserve tasting for $15 each and enjoyed all of the wines. Our wine tasting guide was friendly but not particularly able to answer questions about the wine - she memorized the wine specifics but didn’t necessarily know other information. We would have bought extra bottles to take home, but the checkout line stretched into another room and didn’t move very fast at all.

Jason did an incredible job with our wine tasting! He helped us compare the differences in the Cab Franc and Pinot Noirs available. We ended up finding new favorites based on his suggestions and learned a lot about the wine! Definitely worth the visit. The views alone were worth it but we were very pleased to find some new wines that we will be taking home with us!

We had a fun experience here. The staff was friendly. It was just really crowded with long lines and you could tell they were understaffed but everyone is right now. The wines were good. The purchased snacks were prepackaged cheeses and meats but they did the trick (just don’t expect a charcuterie board!). We would go back.

Wow what a beautiful winery with beautiful views and great wines! We each did tastings of a bunch of different wines and thought many of them were excellent! Prices were also fairly reasonable for really high quality wine! We came early during the week so had the place to ourselves. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable!

It's a lovely winery but they are still doing covid era appointments for tastings. Takes the impromptu fun of popping in away. Only water offered now to cleanse the palate.

Wow! Fantastic property, breathtaking views, and some of the best wines we tried in the region. Tasting was very well done. A must stop but make reservations for testing. We ended up leaving with 12 bottles🤪

Always an incredible stop. The wines are wonderful and always exude quality. The red wines are extrodinary for the Finger Lakes. Full of body, deep, righ, and velvety. The hospitality of the Heron Hill staff is super warm and incredibly knowledgable. The tasting room is beautiful and speaks to the care that the winery takes with every aspect of your experience with their wines. Heron Hill sets the mark for Finger Lakes wineries.

Beautiful views and extremely good wines! Jenny conducted a very educating and fun tasting, and she knew her stuff!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stop there and left with a few bottles of wine. The building is gorgeous, I just wish we hadn't had so much fog the day we were there.

We went here at 10:15 am on Saturday. There were 4 of us that wanted to taste. The women at the counter was less than friendly. She asked if we had a reservation and we stayed no. I did not make one because there website stated we did not have too. She said we can not accommodate you until tomorrow. You can buy a glass of wine. We then told her that I am a case club member and I just wanted to try the new years. She said it didn’t matter and they only had one person to help everyone.we look in the tasting room and there were only 4 people in there. I was planning on buying a lot of wine because this use to be my favorite place. This women was the rudest person so we say that’s fine and left. They had just opened and it was a Saturday. To think they were not prepared to take care of tasting is just crazy. The women had no empathy or or kindness. Needless to say I will tell multiple people about my experience and sadly may not be buying wine from them. I currently do not recommend. There was another vineyard down the street that I had a reservation with that I am also a wine club member and they took us in early and were very friendly.

Wine tasting is really a personal event, what tastes good to me, my husband didn't care for. That being said and I really shouldnt ding any place for not enough help, but today there is only one server in a full tasting room. I believe with more help I would change my rating. Beautiful grounds and tasting room. Eclectic wines. My friends reminded me that I was warned by signage of the short staff and that I should give it 4 stars so I changed my rating and our person was very knowledgeable.

Great wines, great views and friendly staff. They give a veteran discount and have a wide variety of good items in their gift shop including pottery and photography from two local artists. This is one of our favorite local stops and they have music and food events too!

Definitely worth a visit! A great view of the lake and plenty of wines to choose from and sample. We had trouble choosing, but ultimately decided on a semi-sweet Reisling among a few others. 🙂

It gives me no pleasure to give a bad review to any winery, especially one we enjoyed in past visits. But something serious is amuck at Heron Hill. Sure it’s a beautiful tasting room, but if you like and know wine, skip the visit. The wines are all below passable. Worse, the hostess and taster we had were miserable, as if a smile would cost them something. We had an early reservation and were the only people in the winery, so this was not a case of the winery being too busy. Only writing because we feel management needs to know what’s going on while they are away. Worst tasting experience we’ve had anywhere and we have had them all over the world for many years.

The tasting room smells awful, our pourer was very boring, took forever to pour our tastings, dead flies all over the floor next to our table and out of all of the wine we tasted, there was only one that was decent. On top of everything this was the most expensive out of all the wineries we visited. Definitely will not be back.

If you’ve come across Heron Hill, your wedding venue search should be over. This place is amazing in every way. From the perfectly manicured grounds to the numerous amazing places to takes photos (first look tower, wine barrel cellar, overlooking the lake, a few arbors around the property, and the vineyard itself), you’re sure to have more gorgeous pictures than you ever imagined. The welcome wine tasting, specialty cocktail and everything else the bar staff served was phenomenal. Jessie, the wedding coordinator, was on top of everything and executed flawlessly. During our décor appointment the day prior, I don’t think she stopped writing notes for 45 minutes as we described our vision for everything. The acoustics in the tent were great for a live band as well. We heard from numerous attendees that it was hands down the best wedding they had ever been to. Visit Heron Hill and you will fall in love.

Amazing place with wine beer and vodka on tap. These are exceptional New York wines and should be a must stop on your wine trail tours.As we enter the front door we were greeted with respect and kindness by a nice gentleman said he was retired but worked there because he’s loved the wine. That says it allMy wife selected the dry Riesling which she said she loves and I selected the cab which I agree was also delicious

I tried many wines; the best were the 2016 Reserve Riesling, the 2016 Chosen Spot, the 2016 Ingle Caberenet Franc, and the 2017 Classic Dry Riesling.

We have been coming to the Finger Lakes area for the last 6 years. When we got engaged, we knew we wanted to get married in the Finger Lakes and Heron Hill was the first place we thought of. We got married at Heron Hill Winery, on 9.17.18. We got remnants from hurricane Florence and ended our evening with some rain.They have a tower above the tasting room which offer even more breathtaking views than the main property, if you can believe it. Its worth the extra steps, trust me.Heron Hill has an great selection of wines, for all palettes. We were able to accommodate all guests with no issues, there was literally, something for everyone!Heron Hill has an amazing staff and they certainly went above and beyond to make our wedding day as spectacular as I imagined it to be. Meghan and Jessie were just superb.

This was our third annual visit to Heron Hill. The wines are still good and the view is wonderful but we missed the ability to buy cheese board fixings and there are an awful lot of flies buzzing around. Hopefully, they'll get that fixed.

One of the best winery experiences of our trip! We got here near the end of the day and they were able to seat us outside for a tasting. It was so nice to be able to do a tasting outside and still be able to have a conversation with the person doing the tasting for you. It wasn't a flight that you took back to your table. Our server was informative, nice, and asked if there was any other wine we'd wanna try that wasn't marked as our 5, after we finished. The view was amazing and the wine was just as good. With so many wineries to choose from, Heron Hill definitely separated itself for us from the rest on this trip! We'll be coming back next time we vacation here
