What a wonderful B&B near beautiful Keuka Lake! I stayed here two nights this week and loved it immensely. They have all plant-based delicious breakfasts (don't worry, you won't even notice if you don't eat meat) and the rooms are gorgeous in this historic octagon house. Miranda and Simon are fabulous hosts and make you feel so at home. I even saw wild turkeys going across the bucolic road one morning. Fluffy towels, comfy beds, beautiful place and stepping back into time!

This is easily my favorite place to stay anywhere. We would come back to the area just for Black Sheep…we did not want our visit to end. All the superlatives from the other reviews apply. Simon and Miranda are wonderful hosts. We were treated like family and yet felt like we had just the right amount of privacy. Not enough I can say about it really. The breakfast, the rooms, the house and beautiful grounds, creature comforts and nice surprises. Other reviews have said it better than I could. Thanks M and S for a vacation that made memories.

The Black Sheep Inn is a beautiful spot in Hammondsport. The Inn is in a cool, historic building just outside of town on lovely grounds. We really enjoyed our stay. Miranda and Simon are wonderful hosts. The food was amazing (best muffins we have ever eaten)! We stayed for our anniversary and also purchased the wine tour. It was nice to have Simon take us around so we didn't have to worry about driving! We definitely want to stay again!

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Black Sheep Inn, run by two innkeepers, Miranda and Simon who provided the most welcoming stay we’ve ever had. We’ve never been to an Inn or a B&B establishment and didn’t quite know what to expect. What we found was a gorgeous 1800’s building with each room having its own decorative flair and awesome hospitality. To keep this review somewhat brief, I will just touch on the breakfast experience. This is a vegan establishment, but whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or an omnivore, give this place a try. You will be pleasantly surprised. I am a vegetarian and had some new experiences and it was A+. During breakfast, Miranda was often in the kitchen as the in-house vegan chef and Simon acted as the server, providing an awesome dining experience, filled with excellent food and great conversation. We absolutely would return again. Thanks Miranda and Simon, we enjoyed ourselves!Nearby activities: About 20 minutes away from The Farm Sanctuary, a great farm rescue to visit.

It’s been almost two months, and I still cannot get over the hospitality that I enjoyed at the Black Sheep Inn. The hosts are incredibly kind and knowledgeable, the food is top notch, and the location is in the heart of all the best wineries. If you have the opportunity, and a need to stay, stop in. You will not be disappointed.

My husband and I returned here for our 1st anniversary (we spent our honeymoon here last year as well) and the trip was very relaxing! Miranda and Simon are amazing inn keepers - very welcoming, knowledgeable of the area and where vegan options are, and all around great people! The breakfast is delicious - the muffins, granola, and fruit would normally be enough but you also get to select from an entree of vegan deliciousness😀 We purchased some granola at checkout as well! I highly recommend this bed & breakfast for those looking in the Finger Lakes region!

We spent part of our honeymoon here and it ticked every box and more. Wish we could leave more than 5*'s. Simon & Miranda were the most welcoming and warmest of hosts. We immediately had a tour of the property upon arrival, a bit of history and banter (like my husband, the hosts are both British) and even a bottle of Champagne waiting in our room. The property was so picturesque and perfectly located just a short drive or even walk from the town. Miranda's food was excellent both for breakfast and the takeaway lunches. Very comfortable and quiet rooms. Great recommendations for local attractions made by Miranda & Simon. Was so nice to see how supportive they are of other local businesses, especially newer ones. Can't wait to come back next year.

We loved this place! The rooms are so clean and well decorated, and the breakfasts were delicious. We drank wine by the outdoor fireplace and watched pheasant while sitting on the front porch. Miranda and Simon were great hosts.Highly recommend!Nearby activities: Simon offered suggestions of restaurants and wineries which we enjoyed.

My husband and I had the most amazing weekend getaway at Black Sheep Inn and Spa! This was my third stay at the inn, and I absolutely plan on continuing to visit. Perfect for a girls' getaway or a romantic weekend with your partner!Simon and Miranda are the most thoughtful, kind, engaging, and accommodating hosts. The rooms are clean, cozy, and very comfortable. The breakfasts are absolutely delicious, fueling you up for a great day of hiking, wine tasting, or both! Staying here is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - I always come home feeling recharged and refreshed! I can't wait for another trip to BSI - thank you, Simon and Miranda!

It’s a shame I can only give this place 5 stars. After spending 2 nights at the Black Sheep Inn, I felt more relaxed than I have in years and have already began planning a return trip. The property is beautiful and well kept. Miranda and Simon are kind, courteous hosts (not to mention fun and thoughtful). I could not recommend the Black Sheep in highly enough. Truly a very special spot that I cannot wait to revisit sooner than later.

This was my fourth time staying at Black Sheep, a beautiful oasis in the Finger Lakes. Our room was meticulous and comfortable with chocolate on each bed. The bathroom featured delightful shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap. The patio offers plenty of seating to relax with a good book or socialize with others. Cornhole boards were available as well as a separate seating area under a canopy, nestled in a wooded area.Let’s talk about breakfast! First, we start off with juice, coffee or tea, fresh fruit, homemade muffins and granola. If that wasn’t enough, the entrées include a full English breakfast, pancakes, French toast, or a breakfast sandwich.Miranda and Simon are sociable, kind, gracious and lovely hosts. I already have a room booked for October!Nearby activities: About a half hour away is Watkins Glen which features Farm Sanctuary, and the village which has many shops, restaurants and the beautiful gorge trail.

We had a wonderful stay at the Black Sheep Inn. I am so glad we chose to visit the Finger Lakes and staying here was a highlight of the trip. Miranda and Simon were amazing hosts and made sure we knew about the best things to do in the area. The house and grounds are beautiful and well-kept. The breakfast was delicious- particularly the fresh muffins each morning. We can’t wait to come again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Black Sheep Inn & Spa. Simon and Miranda are wonderful hosts that work hard to ensure their guests are well looked after. They were very accommodating and accessible while also respecting guests' privacy and giving us lots of space to relax and unwind. Simon is very knowledgeable about the area and things to do (and a lot of fun to chat with)! Miranda's breakfasts were amazing! We are not vegans but I will say that we are ready to give it a try after sampling her freshly made creations. From her gingerbread granola to double chocolate breakfast muffins, we were never disappointed. And that is just the starter! Full English breakfast in vegan form I never thought could be done but it was terrific. My carnivore husband really enjoyed it. We highly recommend checking out the Black Sheep Inn and Spa located on the outskirts of the lovely town of Hammondsport in a quiet and peaceful location. You won't be disappointed!

Miranda and Simon are the best hosts ever! They warmly greeted us on our arrival. Helped us to our room. Explained everything in detail. Our Pleasant Valley Room was very comfortable and spacious overlooking the back patio. The breakfast was outstanding. We enjoyed our breakfast on the patio our first night. The next day we enjoyed our breakfast in a dining room due to rain. We will go back!!!

From the moment I called and inquired about booking through our actual stay- only enjoyable experiences. Simon and Miranda are stellar inn keepers! The inn itself is so unique, the rooms are beautiful and clean, love the thoughtful touches through out the inn, and the food is to die for. Miranda’s homemade muffins are in a class by themselves. And the breakfasts are so hearty and delicious. We never started our day hungry. We absolutely can’t wait to book again!! Though we are vegan and totally appreciate this fully vegan inn you don’t have to be vegan to enjoy the Black Sheep. You just have to like beautiful architecture, good people, and amazing food. 5 stars A+++++

I cannot say enough good things about Black Sheep Inn & Spa! The Inn and gardens are beautiful. Miranda and Simon are incredibly kind and welcoming. The breakfast was worth the whole trip!! And we took advantage of getting a box lunch two of our days and that was lovely too. Such a treat all around and a load off our minds to not have to worry about what was vegan. Additionally, as my wife and I are a queer couple, we felt very welcomed. It was less than 45 minutes to so many things we wanted to do in the area and we also got lovely massages at the spa! Go visit Black Sheep Inn, you won't regret it!Try the super seedy granola; it's incredible.

My husband and I just returned from our second stay at the Black Sheep Inn and Spa and we are so happy. We are already thinking about how we can go again soon! The house is spectacular, clean, comfortable and provides an old world charm you don’t find often. We stayed this time in the Pleasant Valley Room upstairs and it is a great size, with a King sized bed and you get the view of the courtyard.Miranda’s breakfast every morning was as delicious as we remembered it and her muffins she makes are to die for! You get so much food you are stuffed in a good way.Miranda was also very accommodating of my Husband’s allergies. Last time we didn’t get to try the granola because my husband is allergic to nuts which included coconut milk. This time well in advance I reached out to Miranda about the possibility of making it so he could have it and she did. It was phenomenal and we loved every bite!We also celebrated my husband’s 40th and I requested Miranda to bake a cake. The cake was moist, tasty and never would have imagined it was vegan.Simon’s hospitality each morning he would come with a smile and share stories, you just would always want to hear more!I cannot express how much we loved our stay. Miranda and Simon treated us like family and just were delightful in every way.We also requested an excursion to the local wineries. Simon asked what we liked what we didn’t and organized a day of great tastings and safety in driving us around for the afternoon. We recommend the Black Sheep Inn to anyone who wants to get away and just rest, or go for a hike, or try some great local wines. Not sure what you want to do, Simon and Miranda are always an email away to help coordinate your stay beforehand or just a text/phone call away to assist when you are there.

YOU NEED TO STAY HERE!!!!!! The cutest Bed & Breakfast here in upstate New York 🙏 It’s a fully vegan B&B run by Miranda and Simon. They are so lovely and welcoming. The Black Sheep Inn has such character and Miranda’s cooking is restaurant quality. Highly recommend everyone visits!!The area has many wineries, breweries, and distillery’s for those that like to drink. For us we enjoyed a beautiful hike near by, and will be coming back in the summer for kayaking and swimming.Vegan or not you will love your stay here The pleasant valley room which we stayed in is my favourite room, but each room has its own vibe and character to it. No cons to stay here, would give more stars if I could.
