My 8 months old Portuguese Water dog is a patient of Dr. May. The front desk informed me that they also provide grooming. I have taken my puppy twice to another location where they did a great job but I wanted to find a place closer to home. Nancy was the groomer. She asked me what I had in mind for my puppy and I said to leave one inch every where and do a close cut around the nose/mouth. 4 hours later, I saw my puppy that had uneven patches of hair. Her legs were not done at all. Nancy said she was moving too much and that's all she could do. I expressed that this does not look proper. Nancy offered a free grooming to fix all of the concerns (however I will not Subject my puppy to another horrible cut).Nancy said she has 20 years of experience however she did not demonstrate this with my puppy) When we got home I found loose patches of hair all over falling from my puppy. I can't even look at her ears, the cut is so choppy.

Been going to Dr Marder and Dr May for over 37 years. They were the only vets around that worked on birds. When we got our first dog we kept going there for veterinary care. We now have our 6th basset hound and the care and treatment we receive from everyone, the doctors, front desk staff and vet techs has been exceptional. We also board our dogs there when we go on vacation.Great vets and great place!

from a recent experience, they are definitely accommodating, understanding and efficient. From the front to back of the office, all staff is extremely kind.I recently had my pup in for an exam, tests, then surgery. Every visit, they brought out new animal for my 3.5 year old twins to enjoy learning about while I spoke to the doctors about my dogs health. Their prices are reasonable and they took gentle good care of my small, elderly dog. This was an emotional time for me and they all seemed to make it go as smooth as possible. I absolutely recommend this office!

Roslyn Greenvale Veterinary Group was always great with their care for my cat Tiger. He recently passed away in June 2018 at the age of 18 1/2. I attribute part of that long life to the excellent care he received.

Dr. May is the most attentive vet, let alone doctor, I have ever been to. He provides the most thorough care for your pet, and then takes as much time needed to break down every single detail regarding their health/conditions and all of the possible scenarios that may arise. No vet has ever solved more issues for my dog, and I truly believe he is the reason my dog is alive and well today despite his many health conditions. Everyone in the office from the nurses to the front desk staff make you feel welcomed and at home. I have been bringing all my pets to this practice for many years now and will never go anywhere else. They are also very reasonably priced for a private vet group. I highly recommend Roslyn-Greenvale, they will not disappoint!

I am sharing my experience as a non-customer. I was devastated recently when my 8 year old 190lb great dane tore his CLL. I reached out to my mobile vets, in house vets, special surgery hospitals and Mr. May trying to find information on using a "mypetsbrace" for my dog rather than surgery. Mr. May didn't know me but not only called me back but spent 19 minutes on the phone with me discussing the brace procedure and various types of surgery for my big boy. I was so amazed that a vet actually cared enough to speak with me and offer his professional knowledge to me and even if my wife if she wanted to speak to him in the future. Ultimately, I needed to get a TPLO surgery from a specialist with Giant Breed dogs but after speaking with Mr. May I felt more secure in my decision. If I lived closer than an hour away I would be looking into using Mr. May as an additional vet for my boy. This is my way of thanking Mr. May for spending the time to discuss my options and making me feel as comfortable as possible with the decision I needed to make.

We have been taking our dog Jimmy there for almost 10 years! From minor issues, to life threatening ones, the doctors have always taken such good care of him! They are very knowledgeable and always make my family feel calm when any issue has come up with our dog! Most recently, we had a very big scare but the doctor kept us calm and tried numerous alternatives to see if our dog would get better without having to have surgery, and he did! We thank you for your amazing team!

Dr May is the best, he has done two operations on my dog Bentley and it has always been a wonderful experience. No one I would trust more with my Doggy. He is so caring, knowledgeable and such a skilled surgeon. The front desk staff and the Vet techs are also great! They truly care and make you feel so welcome! I Highly recommend them

Doctors are clueless. Completely misdiagnosed my cat some time ago who had obvious cutaneous lymphoma.Diagnosed and treated as allergies as he suffered and withered away with cancer. None of these doctors had any clue nor did they ever biopsy his skin.I wish I was more educated a few years ago, I could've prevented his suffering.I'd never recommend these vets. When he was sent to emergency I could not even access his records to give them because there was nobody in the office.Never again will I let any of my animals suffer at the hands of these clearly uneducated doctors.

One of the best things about the Roslyn Greenvale Vet is not having to wait long once I get there with a distressed cat in my lap. The anxiety of my cat combined with my own for having to bring him or her there is plenty enough to endure. I've been with this vet for all four of my cats and my dog for about six years now and have been very happy with their doctoring through various procedures and operations. They are friendly, helpful, and responsible.

This is by far one of the best places that I have taken my dogs to, and I have had many rescues throughout my life. Dr. May is fantastic, super knowledgeable, and a good person to boot. Easy to ask questions and he spends time explaining them, so I don’t have to go home with unanswered questions or concerns. Really worth my 45 minute trip to his office. The staff is wonderful as well. They have been very courteous and responsive every time I have called them. Have nothing but good things to say about this office!

Drs May and Marder have been my vets for over 25 years and have been unfailingly caring and supportive through the lives of each of my cats (8 different ones in that time!). Their staff are friendly and compassionate and remember me, even when I am fortunate enough to only be coming in for an annual checkup.I cannot recommend them highly enough!

I have been going to Roslyn Greenvale Vet for over 20 years. I have had numerous cats and this is the only place I trust with my children. I just had to bring one of my cats in and they were very professional and took care of my cat like it was one of their own. We live out east on the Island and still bring our cats to them. Dr. May and Dr. Marder are the best vet doctors on the Island in my opinion. The vet techs and people at the desk are always friendly and courteous. If you want a fair and knowledgeable place to bring your pet then this the place to go hands down.

I was referred to this animal hospital by another vet, as a place to take my tortoise. They were wonderful. They actually kept her for a few days. Not only was her main issue taken care of, but so were other small ones, like a beak and the shell around her neck that was a little too long and sharp and the injury she had because of the shell. The care there was great. The Dr. there was great. I would absolutely recommend this veterinary group. And follow-up was great. The Dr. called a couple of times to check progress after she came home. He really cared.

I have had animals my entire life, and have used a few different Vet practices. Dr May is HANDS DOWN the best Veterinarian I have ever encountered. He is very smart, very skilled, and possesses warmth and compassion to both the owners and their pets. He is up on all the latest medications and treatments, and will do whatever it takes to help. I cannot recommend him more highly.

My dog, Sheila, is fearful and can become aggressive. The staff has worked sensitively with her and helped her to feel secure, It is comforting to know that Sheila will get the best of care. She has had 2 ACL surgeries at the group. Both were expertly done with excellent follow up. I drive 40 miles to the group because I value the care they give my dog. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

The members of the staff have cared for my dog like he is a member of their family. We also adopted two cats (sisters) they rescued and performed surgery on. Drs. Marder and May were most concerned about the two one-eyed kittens finding a good home and least concerned about being paid for some very expensive surgery. They are good vets and good people.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, Dr. Marder saved my dog's life. He was able to diagnose her with Addison's Disease, which takes a lot of talent to do, since it's not seen that often. She was in the middle of a addisonian crisis and was about to die. Now my dog is happy and healthy thanks to his treatment.The staff is EXTREMELY friendly. They always answer any questions I have - they have never been rude to me.In my experience, Dr. Marder and Dr. May always explain how they are going to treat my animals in a way you can understand without getting confused by complicated medical terminology. Instead of talking down to you, they EDUCATE you and treat you as an equal.It's the only place I take my animals to because I know they will receive excellent care.

My family used Roslyn Greenvale for 25 years in Roslyn. We have had three dogs through this time and each could not have received better care from both docs. We moved into the city seven years ago and recently returned to the group with our dog Sami. We went through three different vets in the city and none were ever able to provide the care that this group does. From Dr. May and Dr. Marder down to the vet techs and receptionists you will never find a more caring responsive group.

The vets are amazing: they do a great job at keeping them healthy and happy. :)The only reason why I'm taking off one star is that it seems that they have a new groomer and the new one does not wash off all the product off their coats. It gets messy and kind of knots very quickly.

Horrible service. I called to reschedule my appointment due to a last minute business meeting and when the receptionist (Robin) picked up, I explained my situation to her. She immediately started being extremely rude saying that I was inconsiderate because my time slot could’ve been used for someone else because they were packed today and that I confirmed my appointment, which I did, but something came up last minute. She then hung up on me. I called back to ask her why she would hang up on a client and she responded by repeatedly telling me that I’m not a client yet and then put me on hold. I’ve never experienced anything like this!
