These guys are great! I ordered a rod case that was inadvertently out of stock. Instead of cancelling my order or putting me on a wait list, they called me to see if it was okay for them to dropship it from the manufacturer. I know this means they didn't make much, if any thing, on the sale. This is going above and beyond. I really appreciate their commitment to make things right. I'll buy from these guys whenever possible and recommend you do too.

This place is amazing, great products, super fast shipping and wonderful customer service. Plus their prices are amazing. I've ordered from here almost monthly since getting into fly fishing last year and have yet to be disappointed. Their selection of dries, wets and streamers is incredible and better quality than what I've seen in my area. I love that they carry all of the Cortland products as well. In addition to the staples, I've also purchased their Beacon fly rod and Cayadutta reel, both standup products. Thank you for providing me a one stop shop and hope to visit you in person one day.

Prices are great. Shipping time is equally as good. However, this review is specifically about a recent order of dry flies. Quality control is lacking. On an order of caddis flies, I received two different color hackle collars, two different wing colors and an incorrect hook sizes. I suspect different entities tying flies for this company and I understand that approach but my suggestion to the Fly Shack is make customers aware that they may not receive the fly pattern in the colors as advertised on the web site. Perhaps the adage, you get what you pay for is appropriate. My attempt was to write this review in a positive way and I hope this review will result in a positive change for the Fly Shack and make customers aware of potential issues.

I like the prices, the speed of delivery. Quality varies by fly/tyer. But last time i rordered two versions of hex spinners, a dozen with the hair wing and 6 with a feather wing. Got all feather wing. Contacted them at suggested email. Never heard back. Disappointing.

I love the Fly Shack. I tie my own and the prices are great! I get my packages as fast as I get them from the Fly shop a hour away from home, and they kick their a$$ on prices for Fly supplies. I've waited weeks on a package from a popular Fly supplier from Utah. I get Fly Shack packages shipped from New York to Missouri in 3 days! Fly Shack rocks!!!

Hours are tricky but definitely worth it to stop in. I finally got the chance and Frank was incredibly helpful. Help me identify line weight for an unlabeled garage sale rod I picked up. Shared some great additional info and general knowledge as I am pretty new to the sport. Frank really put in the effort to transfer knowledge and get me the right equipment I needed. Will be back and would recommend to anyone.

I put in a 120$ order on the 12th. They called me on the 19th and informed me it got caught in there system and has not shipped out yet. I had a fishing trip planned for Friday the 24th. They Told me they would do priority shipping and would ship it out today and to look for a email. Never received email. Called them and shocker, they didn’t send my package out YET AGAIN. Highly unsatisfied. Will never order from this company again. Crazy it took them 7 business days to realize my package never shipped out. Even crazier to call me and tell me they are shipping it out today and never ship it. I even explained over the phone I have a fishing trip planned on the 24th and need them by then. They just do not care. 0/10EDIT- the owner reached out to me and made things right. Very cool understand guy. Was very straight forward and apologized. I will be giving the fly shack another chance after all

I initially ordered a 50 dry bag assortment and was unhappy with the product.Within 30 minutes of my review, the fly shack reached out personally to try and fix the problem. Their customer service was top notch!I went from never buying anything from the Fly Shack again to being a lifelong loyal customer!A new shipment of flies are on their way! And a very impressed 5 star review will follow.Update: flies came in a timely matter. Incredible fly variation and quality!10/10

A great shop to buy fly tying supplies in bulk (especially hooks and beads), which I have done several times already. Orders are processed and shipped efficiently. They have great customer service and handle issues with your orders with no hassle.I would like to see their fly tying material offerings expand, but you can pretty much say that about any fly shop with an e-commerce store. Not a complaint, just hoping!

Great experience with The Fly Shack! Exceptional customer service! I placed an order for an upcoming trip and included in that was an item that became unavailable by the fulfillment. They placed on "backorder" status but gave me numerous options as well. A quick check to find the same item in different color available, then a note to them, and bam the replacement item is on it's way to me. They have earned my "first look" for any and all my fly fishing needs in the future!

The best quality, best detailed flies & nymphs you’ll find for sale anywhere. I live in KY & I order from Fly Shack bc they are simply the best. The very best all around in product quality & super fast shipping. I can’t sing their praises enough. I’ll place an order & receive it within 2-3 days, with detailed images & descriptions of each package of flies, neatly separated from each different package of flies. They add details to their flies & nymphs that you won’t see at other places. They have the best, most effective bh midges I’ve ever used. This review was based on a single visit a few 3 years ago. I haven't gone back. I went in on a week day when the shop was not very busy. Only 2 other customers came in while I was there. I was looking for a back support wader belt. Not seeing what I wanted I asked the clerk. I was rudely told "If you don't see it over there we don't have it". I then picked out a bunch of flies. A fly box and a number of additional small items. They do carry quality merchandise. So I don't rate them a 1 star. At checkout the clerk kept shuffling things around and ringing them up. I paid and drove to camp. When I reviewed the receipt I found he charged me twice for the fly box. I called the shop and got no answer. I called 2 more times in the next hour and got no answer. The 4th call produced an answer and I started to explain the problem. I was told to hold on while he got someone to talk to me. 15 minutes passed and none came to the phone. At that point i hung up and decided this was not a business i wanted to deal with. A return trip to the shop would have cost me more in fuel than the fly box was worth.

Materials have been hard to find . The Fly Shack makes sure to keep there site updated so you know you will get what you need. Been using them over a year know. As a tyier I been very impressed with the quality and service this shop provides. And will be using them for years to come. They have more then earned my business.

My only source for all my fly fishing/tying needs. Fly Shack brand hooks are of high quality at low prices. I purchased two of the $30 Cayadutta reels (one at a fly fishing show). I'm looking forward to getting a new rod as well. AND...I'm very satisfied with all of the tying material.

I decided to make a bulk purchase of flies from FlyShack after I had my entire, 20 year, fly collection stolen from my car. I spent over $500 on flies of all sorts and am very regretful of the purchase. The fly hooks break, the dries don't float, the terrestrial patterns fall apart, the parachutes take on water. Overall I am so disappointed with my purchase and I find myself never using any of the flies i bought from FlyShack and having to purchase new ones from local shops that tie w/quality. Please save your money.

I have been to the Fly Shack a couple of times and am so impressed that a little town west of Albany NY would have a fly shop that rivals some of the shops I have seen In Montana. Justin was really light hearted, informative and with no hard sell pressure. Could not have been a better experience.

I had the same experience as cinnamon ludlow. I got turned away because I wouldn't provide a vax card and ID to support it. I guess thats why they are only open 3 days a week and can't find employees. They must not know who thier clientele are around here very well or they would know this isn't good for buisness.I wont be going there again. I'll just head to glenville. I heard there is a good outdoors shop out there with a better inventory than this place any way.

Their Flies are lacking. Don't be fooled by the images. The pictures on the website were beautiful. What I got, not even close. I placed an order for 16 different Streamer flies, Beautiful in color. What came, lets just say I couldn't even tell what fly was what. they all looked the same. brown instead of red, a green feathers replaced with a few strands of green string, Flies that were large and full in the pics came small and skinny,Feathers were replaced with paint globs. the list goes on.

Placed an order with Justin and he got it all wrong. When I complained Justin must have lied about the whole thing. Customer service basically blamed me for the error. I have placed two orders with them and Justin was rude both times. Something terribly wrong with this company.Spoke with Heather W. Customer service, she got things corrected. With her this company should do just fine

Love to shop and buy local, and even pay more for it....but if the service/knowledge of clerk is Walmart, I'll just go there. Great prices and selection of wet/dry flies...only reason I'll still go. Seems like they just want to be online, which is probably what I'd do, if it was my shop and I couldn't find a retired fly fisherman to man the register.

The pandemic is over and I called to see if I could come into the shop. Brand new to tying flies and was told I need a vaccination card to come in. Planned on spending 400$ +. Have not heard this at any other business and completely disagree with this. Masks are off I think it’s time to open up shop.

The only place I order flies from. Yes, some flies don't look like the images on the site but that is expected, animal skin and fur and feathers aren't going to always be consistent. Not everything can be perfect. For the price these flies are worth the buy.

Horrible experience. Don't buy here. Contacted them about issue and they just repeated themselves. Treated me like I did not matter. After original reveiw The owner of the company called me on the the 4th of July 2016 to threaten me , not to put reveiw online or he would take legal action. He was very aggressive and upset. Never apologized, don't put phone number on there website order forms the owner will harass you. I am not an upset customer, never wanted anything for free , I am just stating the truth. I paid extra for fast shipping and they did not send it in time. It is funny that he says I threatened him. He treatened me. I never asked for anything for free. I finally received my package 2 days late and moved on, no big deal. The owner keeps bothering me, it is very kreepy. I am scared of what he may do.
