This place has been here forever. Since I was 9 years old and I'm pretty old now. It still has that pet shop smell to it when you walk in. They have small birds and fish. There is also a lot of pet food and bedding for hamsters. Whenever I go there it's a different person behind the counter. Nothing wrong with that but it's an observation I find interesting. At least they are all friendly. Although the big pet shop chains have a bigger selection at competitive prices, I am still happy to pay a visit here and I don't even have a pet, LOL!

I bought some fish from this store, and most of them have died. Once, I bought a mate for a fish that died, which I bought from this store, and it ended up bringing a virus which killed two other fish in my tank. That fish is now gone, gone! How can a fish disappear from a fish tank?? The store staff do seem knowledgable but once forgot to ask me to buy fish food, I left the store not having any fish food for my playcos (algae eating fish). They do have a nice variety, but I rate them badly because they don't take the time to make sure the fish they sell are healthy or young. Once I was buying some water filter replacement parts for my tank filter, and they offered the wrong size. The person who sold it to me was so confident and I had to go back and get a refund for my opened packages! I only got a refund for one since the other was too ripped up to be resold. I'm never buying fish or any products from this place ever again! They're careless!

DO NOT GO HERE. THEY SELL DISEASED GOLDFISH.Petland discounts are not exactly known for the conditions that they keep their fish in, but I was appalled by this store. I went in there because I Petco was out of fancy goldfish and they said they had a bunch. I ended up buying 2 fantail goldfish. I buy the fish, take them home, let them sit in the bag on the tank, and then finally dropped them in from the bag, letting a little bit of the water fall in too. I then notice that the red oranda that I bought had a HUGE spot of fungus under its head. I go to return the fish, and ask them what happens if my other fish get fungus and the woman has the nerve to say "that's why we recommend that you do not put any of the water in your tank when you move over the fish" which was a total lie, they said nothing to me. I can't believe that a pet store would sell people visibly diseased fish.This wasn't even the only poor showing of the night from Petland. When I was paying for my fish I noticed that they were selling a man 3 goldfish with a fish bowl that was less than a gallon in size. How irresponsible can they be to not even say anything to him? At Petco they wouldn't even sell me 2 goldfish for a 2.5 gallon tank last year, because it was dangerous for the fish, and I had a filter.

Very cool sales people and found what we needed as well as learned some humane ways to repell pesky racoons. Small business power. Petco is just a reminder that we are living in a society displacing interaction and human services in lieu of Big Box mega stores devoid of knowledge beyond the norm. Support your local small business owners!

Wasn't satisfied with my experience at all today. I understand staff may be busy but to have customers standing at the check out without being acknowledged at all, is not acceptable. I put my items back and will stick with Petco.

Staff is friendly and helpful. I have bought several Betta fish, a tank , fish food etc from this place. And bird food also
