What a lovely winery! We visited this place Wednesday morning and took the first wine tasting reservation spot at 10 am. It was quiet and the barn setting overlooking the winery through the large window was simply beautiful and picturesque. I visited popular wineries in Finger Lakes over the years and Ravines is now on my favorite list. Servers were friendly and attentive and we had the best time here. Can’t wait to come back again!

From PA and was visiting family in the area. Thought it would be neat to experience a local winery there. I was hoping to sample a wine that had a sweet concord taste. They recommended 2 white wines (neither that were sweet). I am not a huge drinker so I asked that the samples be just a tiny bit. I ended up purchasing a small bottle. Was told that bottle was $7-9.. no problem... we get to the register and the bill came to 29.99. I was confused and looked surprise.... inquired to the difference and was told $20 was for the sampling.... SERIOUSLY!?!.... I was not informed this up front... nor were there any signs indicating... I took 2 very small samples!!! Our local places do not charge for wine sampling so this was different for me and feel I should have been aware ahead of time... their response was "it is on our website" I guess I should have checked that upon stopping in as we were passing by......

We had a wonderful time at Ravines, another beautiful Finger Lakes region winery. We called a day in advance, and easily secured a tasting. Completely understandable why they ask for reservations. The approach up to the property had an extra bonus of an apple orchard that was great photos. The property itself, what 100+ year old barn was beautiful to look at and a perfect spot for tasting. Our tasting guides were knowledgeable and friendly and we’re generous with the pores. We sample the number of wines and took a few home. Appreciated their thoughtfulness and care In describing the wines we selected. All in all a great experience. Do not let a few unhappy reviewers spoil your coming to this place. They are definitely worth your stop.

Pretty good wines. Nice atmosphere. A bit haphazard wine tasting. They did provide great explanations of the background of each wine we tasted. They also provided recommendations on options for tasting. Try the Maximilian. They have a cool large barn setting also in addition to the tasting room and seating tables. The road to get to the place is in horrid shape and take that into account.

They are doing an excellent job of presentation and providing information about the winery and the fine selection of wines. I have been a club member for a number of years and have always enjoyed my tastings and Mary and Dan did a nice job today. Which started with the check in and seating by the hostess. She also did a good job gathering my selections and doing the check out.And of course the wines are delicious. Hence the club membership, recommended.

Ravines is one of my favorite wineries in the country! Great founders that really care about their wines and wine club members. Try the Dry Riesling - best in the state. 🍷🍾👍😊

Excellent wines, most are crisp, clean and light-bodied. Food served here is also great. The barn tasting room is comfortable. Staff are very knowledgeable about wine and can answer any question. These are serious wine people! Very impressed with their wine maker. This is a fun visit. Parking is behind the building. Gravel driveway is rough, drive slow.

Beautiful location, tasty wines, and we loved the charcuterie board! Also, Denzel was a very pleasant server. Very nice winery to check out.

Love the whole setting, so relaxing. Our favorite dry Riesling wine was their Flagship. Would but it again.

My favorite winery in the Finger Lakes by far. The owners are so friendly and everyone has a true passion for the grapes they produce. They also have an adorable dog... and a donkey!

We brought our friends there for some wine tasting. Dan was excellent and made the tasting outstanding! Cool place in a renovated barn. Dan really educated and schooled us. I would go back again and the wine tasting was lots of fun.

Just showed up. There’s 9 of us. There are at most 4 customers inside. No one seated outdoors. We were turned away because we exceeded 6 people. We came in 2 separate cars…5 minutes apart. We said we can sit in 2 different tables outdoors away from each other but they said that since they already know there’s more than 6 of us, they can’t seat us. This is our 5th winery this week at the Fingerlakes and everyone has this policy but no one enforces it. In fact, there’s normally 11 of us total! It is too bad because we are celebrating our parents’ 50th wedding anniversary and we wanted to try out their wine. We asked to have just 1 glass of wine for one of the members of our party to try and they wouldn’t accommodate us.It’s ok…plenty of wineries around. We can take our money and business elsewhere.

This was really disappointing. We’re local to the region and were visiting on a Wednesday early afternoon. The winery was recommended to us by another location where we had done a tasting earlier that day and we’ve been wanting to experience Ravines’ tasting process for a while now. In all fairness, we did not make a reservation ahead of time; however, the tasting room was not overly busy and the hostess didn’t say that a tasting was not possible when we checked in. We were seated outside as our dogs were with us - the patio area was very nice and we were given the flagship Riesling as an introductory tasting pour, which was unique and very good. That’s when things went downhill. My husband and I waited outside at our table for nearly 30 minutes without anyone coming out to check on us or take our tasting flight order. I went back up to the front desk to check and see if we were still able to taste - I stood at the desk for another few minutes, saw two different team members look up/walk past me standing at the desk, but no one even acknowledged me there. At that point, despite the quality of the first wine we tasted, we decided to depart without continuing. If this is the typical level of service, we are unlikely to return.

Great experience, laid back tasting room with great wines! Ed was awesome-knowledgeable, interesting, and very nice! They are dog friendly and I stayed a little longer due to the fact that he could come with! Beautiful vineyards!

Wines are very good. We like to enjoy a tasting then share a bottle and the Farmers board which is also very good.We were extremely disappointed that they charged a corkage/seating fee? I have never heard of such a thing. We purchased their wine and food 😕 We are members at other Finger Lake wineries and have never had that. And no one said anything until we were already seated and had a glass. No where on the menu does it say anything about a fee….. seriously disappointed

This place is an absolute HECK NO for Charcuterie! It's the worst you will ever have at any winery because it barely feeds one. There are so many others with way better Charcuterie don't stop here for it. See below. This was it. I guess they expect you to load up on the extremely crusted crunchy cracker loaf of bread served with it. The wine is good.

Great place, good wines, very nice and friendly staff. Hard to access if you're not familiar due to private roads. Need to access from Pre Emption Rd.

Disappointed I can't speak more to the wine as a result of the absolutely shameful service. My wife and I attempted to visit on a Wednesday afternoon and were seated outside on the patio with our pups. Unfortunately that's kind of where the story ends as we were completely forgotten out there for the next half hour as we watched other guests arrive and depart while we sat in pergatory. My wife attempted to go to the host station to ask if anyone would be out, however multiple staff members looked her way or walked right by her without acknowledging her presence. They were clearly not overrun with guests as there were a max of 6 people in the tasting room during our time there and staffing seemed plentiful as we observed several occasions where staff stood idly behind the bar socializing while ignoring our presence. I have no doubt their wine is good based on the welcome sample we received, however service this willfully poor is not deserving of our time or patronage.-------The owner has responded to my review indicating I had an issue with our dogs not being allowed inside the tasting room and that was the impetus for my review. Not sure where that is coming from and is not true. We travel frequently with our pups and most of the time we sit outside with them. We typically don't get forgotten by the staff for the entire time though which (if you actually read my review) was the issue. This really does underscore the poor management of this facility if that's what they took away from my feedback.

Very disappointed, I had such a great experience at the other location so wanted to check out the Geneva one. We were turned away at the front due to not having a reservation even though there were zero people seated at the bar. We were only given an option to sit outside in the sun with no shade with a bottle of wine. We pulled up the website and could make a reservation right then but she never even gave us that option. We left and had a great experience at another winery. Will not be going back.

Gotta say a very hot and uncomfortable experience with limited working fans. Host team doesn't seem to care. Order flights and no description of wines. Very very odd. Please bring back the old hospitality!***As an update to the response received - we were never offered a table inside and by the way we were one of 3 parties there at the time - six of us and two tables of 2. Desolate and far from PACKED. We were club members for 10+ years! Maybe just a bad day…

Enjoyed a delightful experience at the Geneva location. The atmosphere, food offerings and the wines were all delicious. But Kate, our server was simply terrific. She was knowledgeable, friendly, respectful, with a great sense of humor and was perfect for our group. Ravines is perfect for taking guests to a Finger Lakes Wine experience.

Wine was really good, however horrible service. Probably the worst I’ve ever had at a winery. We had a reservation for a tasting. When we arrived, we were poured a glass of wine and then the server just left. No information about what we we were drinking or where we were supposed to go. Finally we were led to a table, again - with no communication the sever just left. After like 5 minutes a server came back and asked us what we wanted. We were so confused and didn’t know there were several flight options we were supposed to be choosing from. I then asked the server what we were even given from the beginning. Once we got our tasting we immediately drank and left. On to a better place with better service. Wanted to buy a bottle of wine, but didn’t due to poor service. I will not be back.

I have visited Ravine’s yearly for the past 6 years. While the visit is always great and filled with good wines this year was particularly special thanks to our server Shannon. She was so knowledgeable and passionate about wine. She made our experience so special!!

I was a little apprehensive looking at some of the reviews on Google. Primarily because I am not a wino! This place did not disappoint!Dan, our pourer was amazing with his knowledge and style of speaking. Loved the wines and the ambience and ended up buying two bottles of the late Harvest!Try it, you won't be disappointed. Don't look at the reviews by the trolls

I was a little apprehensive about trying this winery after reading some mixed reviews, but I'm very glad that I did. Ravines is not your kind of winery if you're looking for a quick tasting of cheap wine to get a buzz. Ravines is more elevated than that. The pourers do not rush you or other visitors. They take their time and explain the details of what you are tasting. They are extremely knowledgeable about their wines and how they are made. About wait times and reservations... Make a reservation. Most good wineries in the area ask this of their visitors and it makes the experience easier for everyone. In my opinion Ravines offers some of the best red varietals in the region, a refreshing change from reislings that are abundant in the area. Please disregard the negative reviews. Make a reservation and check out this gem. It will be a regular stop for me when I'm in town.

It was surprising to see how many negative reviews there were. We visited this past weekend and it was one of the most pleasant experiences of our trip. Simon helped us with our tasting (which we were able to easily reserve and pay for in advance online) and he was SO friendly and knowledgeable, offering selections that fit our tastes. It was unlike any other tasting we had this weekend. Keep up the good work, and best of luck to Simon in his future endeavors!
