Friendly courteous staff. Only problem was getting a cart to shop especially on Sunday.

Fairly typical goodwill, but they recently unorganized all of the books. It's really annoying to have all genres just piled together on the same shelf

Linda who works there is an outstanding lady...she cares for people and takes the time out of her busy shift to help customers. She deserves a raise big time best associate I've ever come across.

Man at donation center rolling eyes and looking hateful several times when I was dropping off items at the donation center. Makes me uncomfortable to take things now. I will take elsewhere.

This is by far my favorite goodwill around! Something about the location or locals gives it a great variety of real antique and almost new items, I’ve found like-new anthropologie and madewell clothes, as well as antique furniture worth a few hundred dollars that only cost me $7-$10. Definitely check out the wooden item’s section, there’s usually a gem or two in there. Staff are nice and helpful

Very well organized store compared to some goodwills I've been to. I love to thrift and I can always find something to buy. My favorite section is the knick knacks in the back. They have a great selection of pants and jackets along with tops and bags, and even books. I love coming here because I can usually find something that I need or want. They don't have too much jewelry all the time but that's okay. Customer service is amazing and I will continue coming here <3

We used to shop here often, usually two or three times per month. Ever since they changed how they price things, we rarely go here.We stopped in randomly this visit, and still not impressed.Prices are across the board on clothing, no matter the condition, stained, ripped, perfect, or whatever. Some items cost as much as 75% of original cost, even if broken, chipped, pieces missing, etc.Staff is usually friendly, but do not look happy to be there at all.Not sure what caused the big changes, they happened a couple years ago, but we do not go here often anymore due to them. Save even more money, go to Salvation Army, AM Vets, et cetera instead.

After working here back in the day, you learn just how horrible the store actually is. You find out how much they throw away, how much they overprice, and how greedy the corporation really is. Goodwill is a thrifty store and you can certainly tell when you walk in, as it just feels dingy. You can find some good things, but it usually is three times the price it should be. I'm disgusted by this entire company, and it's mainly because I have seen behind the scenes, where many have not. My manager actually forced me to destroy a piano with an axe one time instead of selling it, or else I'd be let go. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. I'm sure someone could have fixed it up. No need to go postal on it.

They had a job posting on indeed.com for a team lead stating 20.75 an hour so I was like what the heck I have the experience they want so I applied.Lady called me and left a message to call her back which I did but she stated “I’m in a meeting I’ll call you back” ok no problem other than she NEVER called back!!!!If your not gonna call back don’t tell someone you will, just shows very poor customer service and if it’s not a real job then by all means don’t even advertise for one

Miss autumn what a pleasure to meet you today on my pick at goodwill... I got to not only see a smiling face but a genuine one and cool blue hair... I even got to educate you a little on antiques and that really made my day..I hope to see you again sometime.. thank you ...John

Lots of parking. They have a huge selection of clothing (and despite other reviews I saw a decent amount of name brand stuff here & got 2 pairs of never worn, name brand leather boots for under $20!), fair amount of furniture, books, films... store was nicely organized compared to several other Goodwills I have been to. The staff was friendly & attentive. Dressing rooms were available. Overall very pleased with my experience here.

I loved this place ever scene it opens in 2011. I shop here all the time! This place is amazing it's clean, organized and easy to get around in. I they have beautiful dresses and skirts. I find lots of summer shirts. The prices are reasonable. They also have lots of sweaters and short sleeve shirts. You can find great professional clothing or casual. The staff is also very friendly.

Goodwill Geneseo is quite a sad place compared to what it used to be. It *used* to be one of my very favorite places to shop and I recommended it to many people, but not so much anymore.☆ Currently, the store isn't always as clean or organized as you'd hope for. More often than not, the women's restroom isn't very clean. I've found urine on the toilet seat more than once, toilets backed up, toilet paper all over the floor, etc.☆ The pricing algorithm that they changed to a while ago is an entire topic in itself. Charging one set price for particular items is great in theory, BUT: the prices are set to amounts that are almost laughable. As someone else's post here noted, Goodwill's prices for used clothing are almost exactly the same as some of Walmart's for new clothing (particularly kids clothes).☆ The kids clothing area is often a mess! The sizes are usually at least semi-mixed in together- making shopping super frustrating!☆ I always find random clothes and other items for sale (in all of the sections: Women's/Men's/Children's clothing & Household goods) hanging from the hangers and dragging on the ground--- I'm not going to buy those dirty/dusty ones!!☆ I know multiple people, personally, who shop at Goodwill (and other used retailers) for books. We've complained to each other about the lack of organization in that area. A while ago it was a beautiful area- well organized and very tidy. It was truly a joy to browse through the books! The books used to be very close to alphabetical by author AND by subject, i.e., fiction/non-fiction/gardening/textbooks/cooking/self-improvement, etc! But now, the books are barely close to being grouped by subject and forget about being alphabetical by author! I don't take the time to shop in their book section anymore. It's entirely too frustrating! Which for Goodwill (and myself!) is a loss, because I used to spend approximately $30+ on books every time I shopped there. I'm sure others have abandoned shopping at Goodwill for books for this reason, also. (☆Sidenote: I'd happily be in charge of your book section, Goodwill)☆☆☆ I used to *love* spending hours going through all of Goodwill's different sections looking for interesting things and treasures :) Literally, thrift store shopping is one of my favorite ways to get a little me time/mom time (whatever it's called lol). Unfortunately, Goodwill Geneseo isn't as high on my favorites list as it used to be. It's still there though...hopefully things will improve in the future

Was great when this place first moved in. Now the store sells used clothing at higher prices than I could purchase for New! Still find little nicknacks but not too many! I feel like the owner/employees sift through the brand name goods. They do sell Coach purses for 10$ if you're lucky!

The management at this place have absolutely lost their minds. I used to love shopping here - it was fun to see what we could find, and it was nice to be able to purchase gently used goods, and a reasonable discount.Management changed a couple of years ago, and it’s been on a steady decline ever since. Fortunately, they do have books again (truthfully one of the few sections still worth the prices - yes you can almost always find the same titles cheaper online, but here there’s no shipping. Just don’t go in expecting ANY organization. You may find what you’re looking for, you may not). When the change first happened, they announced that they would no longer be selling books. They stuck to it very briefly, but shortly caved. They no longer offer any discounts (if you enjoy the tag-color discounts at other thrift stores, and Goodwill locations, do not expect to see them here). All items are now under “blanket-pricing”, meaning that a used pair of jeans that were originally $5 at Walmart, and a new pair of jeans that were originally $50 at Maurices, will both cost you roughly $7. Any clothing that originally cost more than $50, will be behind the counter, and fall under “boutique pricing”.In Geneseo, Walmart is about half a mile up the road. I left Walmart to come here, because I was looking for a specific color of men’s long sleeve t-shirt, that Walmart was out of. The brand new shirts at Walmart were $5.48 (regular price), and here, they are $5.53. Are you kidding me? A grungy, faded, worn-out shirt costs more here, than a brand new one half a mile up the road. It’s not just clothing, either - they regularly shelve products with their original price tags, and the Goodwill price tag, where it’s very clearly evident that Goodwill is charging MORE for a used product that what it cost to purchase new. I’m not talking about collectible items. I’m talking typical yard sale junk.Livingston County desperately needs a decent thrift store. Goodwill is NOT it.

I was met with indifference and rudeness. The young men working in the Donation Center did not offer to help with the heavy items in my car. When one rolled a cart at me to do it myself he rolled his eyes! Not only did I not get a greeting, but I got no thank you after I unloaded my vehicle. By the way, I am a 70+ woman. For the record. I went back with more items today and was met by a very friendly young man who offered to help me after he finished unloading items for an elderly gentleman ahead of me. He carried in my heavy boxes and thanked me. He also offered me a rewards punch card. What a pleasant change! There is goodwill at Goodwill after all.

Wish I could give this place ZERO stars. Very disappointed that sizes are not marked the way they should be. (Small, Medium, Large, Plus) Clothes were grouped by colors. No way in H.E.double hockey sticks am I going to look through racks of clothes to find a certain size. Will not be going back for awhile. Hope they get their clothes organized!!

It is a larger store, which is nice. A larger section devoted to books than most other thrift stores in the area. I was flummoxed by the fact that there was no phone signal available inside the building. The staff were helpful and friendly though.

Although I am glad we have a goodwill in town This particular store is not the best. Its feel run down. I do still donate here and because it has the donation center you can drive right up to I gave it 3 stars. Store could use some improvements and some better merchandise. Also don't go here to get shoes...

It was OK but the cashiers did not have a bag to put in the king size blankets in. The blankets were like a sheet on one side & like a fuzzy sweatshirt on the other. So I had a ball trying to get them to my car.

Purchased a record player from the store only after being insured that it had been tested. For the price of a lesser known brand at $30 it seemed reasonable to assume that it worked. It took a week to get a needle shipped, turned out it needed a lot more work than that. Calling the number on the receipt I was transferred to the manager of the goodwill in Geneseo, NY who offered nothing more than telling me I shouldn’t have been told that it had been tested and that only if I make it back that day (i.e. within a week of the receipt date) would I be able to exchange it. The trip there was an hour I didn’t have that day and the needles would be too costly in shipping for the refund, putting me out even more. The manager whose name was never even offered was totally unsympathetic. If he’s going to be poor at training his employees, you’d think the least he could do is offer a little sympathy to the customers that have to deal with the fallout.

Hoping these places don't put themselves out of business with the price gouging....It's not costing more 'cuz o' covid'...Donated free stuff is still donated free stuff ....what's going on....Not even willing to negotiate on broken stuff? Person who tagged it too high 'must've taken in to account it was already broken'Remember .49c? .59c? .99c? There's very little of that.... Very little under $4.99 regardless of what it is....

I love thrift stores but the prices on all donation stuff here is outrageous. Need to rethink pricing and stop robbing people. Leaving 3 stars because every now and again they have a good deal.
