I called two separate occasions to order some fish and another time to see if they'd be interested in some aquarium snails I have an abundance of. I was promised call backs that never happened. This used to be a great place to shop but it just keeps going downhill more and more.

I love the large variety of pet toys, treats, & food for everything from gerbils to horses! The staff is very friendly and helpful. They honor prices (they forgot to take a sale sign down when it ended, but gave me the item for sale price) & they have great sales

Alyssa and Jenny were fantastic at answering questions and listening to what I was looking for and just being overall superb people. Absolutely 100% fantastic customer service and I wished I lived closer because I'd shop here permanently if I could!My only negative is they have phenomenal setups for all the animals... except the betta fish. Maybe they're planning on putting them in a better location to meet their needs soon? I should have asked. It was rather disappointing to see tropical fish in tiny unheated cups when all the other animals were in special rooms with proper tanks.That's not the employee's fault though, and other than that the store was clean and had great prices to boot! Will be back whenever I have the chance!

Spent over $200 here for a new aquarium and fish. After a week I noticed allot of parasites. Planaria and fish lice. Went back to store and asked how to get rid of the parasites and instead the manager wanted to argue with me about getting the parasites from their store instead of being helpful. They would care less about the customers or the animals in the store. It's all about the paycheck. Will never go back. I have bought 2 small birds from here also. They were marked as hand fed. No one will let anyone handle and meet the animals first. When I got them home I can say they were never handled and bite so it's a lie to put higher prices on the animals.

Nice store and service. Kind of like Tractor Supply, but better in certain regards. Had aquarium supplies etc that we were looking for that you can't get at Tractor Supply. Pet grooming also. Very nice.

I have a HUGE issue with the conditions of the animals. On occasion when they have ferrets, the condition of the cage, food, bedding ( none),is unacceptable. My recent visit on 8-10-19 had me beyond angry to see the baby ferret without bedding, and VERY nasty food. If the employee has no knowledge of the care of these animals then country max should STOP selling them and I am talking mainly birds,rabbits, ferrets, Guinea pigs, chinchillas etc.. I give no star rating.

We love the Geneseo Country Max. All employees are exceptionally helpful and generally happy to be at work. My son is obsessed with animals, primarily reptiles.. specifically snakes. He has a corn snake and has been looking for the perfect Ball Python. With the help of Natalie W., a manager, he will soon be the “new Dad” to his fire ball python. Natalie loves to talk to Carson in depth about reptiles, and is able to expertly give him advice and help when needed. We love Country Max and the kind, friendly staff especially Natalie who makes Carson feel very special when he comes to shop and visit the reptiles and fish. I highly recommend this store and Natalie if you want exceptional customer service and care.

Customer service is wonderful, prices are fine, cleanliness is good. But for some reason half the time we have 100 pound tanks filled either no one is certified to do it or they can’t find the fittings.

Just did walk thru of the outdoor landscaping plant areaLooking for a specific tree, but was immediately appalled at the state of things there. Many formerly beautiful shrubs and trees are ruined, dried to a crisp brown, and dead. Others area set to follow. Where is the oversight, the watering, etc.?

Much Better Experience in Country Max, Geneseo since they fired the Thief Old Store Manager!! She was something I will not say in here. Anyway, good experience and polite and very friendly staff now!! That store needed that for quiet some time now.

I have never seen an outdoor nursery area in such poor condition. Dead and dying plants everywhere. Garbage blowing around in the wind. I can’t believe a manager would allow it to degrade to this condition.

I love this place! They have a great selection of pet supplies for everything from fish to horses, and they have a bunch of animals as well. This is one of my favorite places just to wonder around.

If there was an option for no stars I would give it to them. First, the girl who got the animal for us was rude. She threw stuff in my cart, and didn't think about asking us if we were okay with the price. Second, their card machine wasn't working and took the money from the card and said it wasn't there. However, when I called my card the representative said it was there. The manager didnt bother to call the "middle man" to get it corrected or looked into. She didnt do ANYTHING to rectify the situation. There were other customers with the same problem with their cards when I was there. I will NOT go back to this location or any Country Max location again. Now, I have to wait 7-10 days to get my money back.

VERY thankful for this store. They carry my dogs dog food and is the only store for miles that does! They also have a large section of other merchandise. Definitely recommend stopping here!

I really enjoy country Max in genesseo. The staff here are friendly and always willing to help. We ship here for our family dog all the time and the prices are reasonable and they always have what our puppy needs. I love taking my girls here to visit the animals and see what's new with the country Max world .

This use to be one of my favorite stores.....but this is the 2nd time in less than 6 weeks I have been told "we have plenty" of something in stock and literally less than an hour later it is sold out! Get your inventory straight and stop wasteing your customers time!! That to me is just horrible customer service!!!

Country max in geneseo is the best.they have a wide variety of pet toys,supplies, animals,and plants.and the reptiles in the reptile room have perfect setups the animals look happy and its clean.when ever I'm in geneseo I try to go to country max.it is so much better than petsmart that's right across the street. At petsmart they let crickets escape and it's just disgusting but at country max they don't let bugs escape and it's much cleaner

It's a Country Max. They carry farm supplies, some gardening supplies, dog, cat, rabbit, Chinchilla, fish supplies. I think Country Max pet supplies are cheaper than a regular pet store. I usually get get my pet supplies from Country Max.
