There's enough space between sites for privacy, and the facilities were clean and totally sufficient. Did not have to pay for shower. No complaints whatsoever. Staff is friendly and helpful with local knowledge.

This is a really great park. You can camp there and all that, but the picnic area with a pavilion is up for rent and is really nice. Picnic tables, charcoal grills, enough field to have a football game a playground for the kids, and lots of shade where you want it and sunny where you want it. All and all, a great place to have an eventPlayground: They have a great playground. Newer and cleanRestrooms: They have a family restroom therePicnic area: Picnic area with pavilion

One of the best campgrounds I've been too. Every year it gets better. We rented 2 camp sites due to our large family and spend anywhere from 3 nights to 5 nights every summer. The showers and bathrooms are cleaned everyday. It's very quiet and isolated. Trails are nice. They even have corn hole! We will be back next summer!Restrooms: Restroom are cleaned every day.

This place is awesome. Sites are a good size and spread out. Clean newer showers and restrooms. Very peaceful 🏕️💚

My family and I loved the Max V Shaul campgrounds. We stayed in early October 2020. The trip up there from NYC was spectacular during the fall season. Our site was clean, pretty large (drive in site-fit 2 cars.) and canopied with trees with varying colored leaves. The bathroom was immaculate and modern. It does get very cold at night and we heard some animals howl but they seemed to be far from us. We always felt safe and welcomed. They do allows dogs with a copy of vaccination. They don’t have a store on site.

Stayed overnight on 9/24/22.Nice campsite with new bathrooms and a large field with a view of the eastern sky if you want to do some stargazing. Have a good mattress pad however as some of the campsites are very rocky.

Lovely little state park. Quiet campsites while we were there that are all well spaced out and fairly private. They sell wood and ice at the camp shop for cheap. The bathrooms were all brand new and very clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Not a bad camping experience, and this small state park is in the process of greatly expanding upgrading their bathhouse and washroom facilities. Some campsites backed up next to the hill are prone to flooding in heavy rains (#16-18). But overall would recommend for a camping weekend easily accessable to Albany & Capitol District.

Small, quiet campground. You can hear the cars from the road. We had 27 ft RV trailer and it was able to fit the campground no problem. We stayed at campsite 24, it was clean, had picnic table and fire pit. It was very close to the restroom facilities. You can buy firewood on premises for $3. Had a big nice playground for kids. We spend only one night there on our drive up north.

This campsite was great! Sites are well spaced apart, bathroom/shower facilites are very clean and look brand new. They have bundles of wood at the office if you ever need so they're easy to grab. They also have a playground and volleyball net. We noticed that there were a lot of daddy long legs, but not a huge deal.

As its own website states, this is a small and quiet campground, with the exception of Rt 30 traffic. Nice setting, shaded sites, nearly new bathroom/shower buildings.Walking around, I noticed that the staff cleans out the fire pits and stacks any leftover burnable wood next to it. A nice attention to detail I haven't seen in other NYS park campgrounds. The trail on the hill can be wet and slick and muddy, but a nice easy hike otherwise.

Stayed at site 3 which was set in from the road and a bit more private. Very clean. You can hear the highway in the distant background but other than that it is very nice. Good hikes near by.

This park is perfectly adequate: sites are well-maintained and well-spaced, bathrooms are clean enough, staff is helpful and friendly. (And they bring you the biggest bundle of wood you can possible imagine for only $8, wow!) But it's not really a "nature" camping experience. It's right off of route 30 so there is constant traffic noise, and there's not much to explore outside of your campsite. Perfectly fine for a cheap spot to pitch a tent and sit by a fire if you are traveling through the area but if you are going to commune with nature you'll be disappointed.

The camp sites are well maintained and the bathrooms are clean! The staff are really helpful and friendly. There are a lot of things to do nearby. From hiking — fishing, they are all a few mins away. It is also close to the town proper if you like exploring and finding some estate sales/antiquing.

Great little campground. Sites are large, private, and wooded. Plenty of space for tents, hammocks, and cars. Firewood bundles are insanely huge, it's a great deal. Staff is friendly and helpful, Dan and Ben were great. They happened to have both a movie night and a craft fair the weekend we stayed, both were very enjoyable. I wish more parks did stuff like that. They lose a point for being able to hear cars on route 30 from most of the camp. Some sites even have a full view of the cars going by. Also, they have the worst toilet paper ever. I don't think it's even a full ply!

First time here for fall camping after labor day. It was quiet, clean site was spacious for our camper. We liked it so much we are coming back to use the group campsite before they close for the season.

Small intimate campground with great wooded sites for tenting.lots of site upgrades and new showers & bathrooms since we were here last time. Friendly and attentive staff do a great job keeping it clean. If you have a young family and want to give camping a try this is a great place to start.

The campgrounds are well maintained. Our stay was very enjoyable. We even had a deer grazing next to our tents. No cellphone service, barely enough to text from the marked areas, but that's probably a good thing. The only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because there's some noise coming from nearby Rt 30 that can be heard practically on every site.

The rangers are extremely nice and helpful. Well run park. Small and clean with a nice bit of space between campsites. All campsites are full shade. Bathrooms are shiny and new. Ice and wood onsite. Everything else you need is within easy reach of the park. I highly recommend the Breakabeen General Store about 3 minutes south of the park for ice, drinks, breakfast, coffee, etc.

Yes, you can hear traffic from 30, but it's a rural road so it isn't like it's freeway noise. The sites are spread apart nicely. Dog friendly. Bathhouses getting updated. Nice little park.

Great camp site, spicket 1 site away. Clean facilities, 2 showers and 3 stalls, cleaned 3x a day. Firewood 2/$5. Nearby apple picking and 5 mi away in town there's a grocery store if you forget anything!
