We were a group of 5 beginner adults all on our first ever horseback riding experience. Running Brook Rising was super responsive via message and phone, and made the entire process extremely easy. Getting on the horses looked very intimidating at first! I had the exceptionally large one, Caesar.With gentle encouragement and guidance, we were on our horses in minutes of arrival, learned how to let our horses know what direction to go, and began our hour-long trail.We were even late by a few minutes but called ahead to let them know, and they were so accommodating!The trail itself is very smooth, under a lot of trees so it wasn't very hot even on a hot fall afternoon. All of the horses had their own very cute personalities and it was so fascinating to work with these smart creatures.They accept cash and credit - something we didn't know before going, but hope that helps anyone else that is unsure! The price itself is super affordable and one of the best deals I found in Saratoga county/Lake George.I would definitely go back next time I'm in the area! Everyone was amazingly friendly.

This review is way overdue. Hands down the best bunch of people to ride with. We stopped in for my daughter to do horseback riding, before we made our way back to NYC. They are very passionate and caring towards their horses. You can even purchase fresh eggs on the premises. Loved every minute of being with those horses. will definitely be back when heading upstate again. Highly recommend giving them a visit.

Beautiful place family friendly environment our guide Audra was absolutely wonderful very knowledgeable, friendly and so helpful with my son who is autistic. The Horses where exceptional well cared for, friendly and cooperative. Priced fairly and affordable. Trails where easy riding with many obstacles you could choose to participate in or not. They also have trails with declines and inclines but again if you or a child where not comfortable with hills they took you a smoother route. Absolutely a must to visit if you love to ride or if it’s your first time. We will definitely be returning in the near future. The owners are super friendly as well. Very comfortable place to be feels like home.

We had a great time at Running Brook doing a trail ride for my brother’s bachelor party. The guides were friendly and fun. The horses were calm and cooperative. It was a perfect outing and everyone had fun, even the first time riders! Thank you Running Brook!

We took a wonderful trail ride today with Mary as our guide. Mary was friendly and told us all about the farm and surrounding area. The horses were sweet and easy to ride. The trails were a bit muddy because it poured yesterday, but all in all a great time.

I was not impressed with the couple women who were handling the horses very roughly at the parade in South Glens Falls yesterday. Horses do not get yanked hard the way they were, the one horse had a tight bit and was pulling away and the woman riding just kept yanking, whipping it and yelling to stop. If you are a horse person you should know they listen to woah! Not hey! Stop!! And when there's a tight bit, it's obvious! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. From these photos, it was the woman in front in the brown jacket that was cruelest. Unbelievable. I won't be recommending this place.

My friends and I stayed at an airbnb literally a few steps away from Running Brook and we loved every moment of it! Doing this little horseback riding adventure was THE HIGHLIGHT of our relaxing weekend. The tour was fun and catered to us; when we asked to trot, we trotted, when we asked to go fast, we went so much faster. It was fun and thrilling. Our conversations with the guide made this little adventure even more great. The horses were also all so different and so beautiful, we fell in love with them. It was so fun that we were debating on whether to do it again the next day. I would recommend going horseback riding with Running Brook Riding to anyone and everyone!

That was amazing! That’s was my first time horse riding, can tell, that’s not scary how it can look like.. and I want to add, English isn’t my first language but explained everything very clearly, the instructors were friendly and caring! 100% that isn’t my last time horse riding!

A little gem of a farm. We booked a pony ride the day before for my son, and it was truly a wonderful experience all around. We'll be coming back for more pony rides and to take a trail ride someday soon!! So happy I found this place. Thank you!!

I have been riding most of my life and was looking for a nice relaxing ride for a quiet afternoon. This place was wonderful. Waiver signing went easy and quick. The people and horses were sweet and caring. Lots of improvements are being made to the property with new trails and trail expansions occurring. There were a couple small obstacles easy enough for beginners but engaging enough to stand out and keep people and horses interested. Yes there are bugs, but as the owner put it I’d rather have good weather and bugs than bad weather and no riding. It’s nature and there are bugs out there and bug sprays can only do so much. If your looking for a nice trail ride and in the area I would absolutely recommend Running Brook.Thank you Cindy, Janice, Lacey, and Bella!

My husband, son and I went for the one hour ride today. It was fantastic. All staff were extremely welcoming, knowledge and worked with us newbies. My son and I were a bit nervous at first. They taught us what we needed and were very calming. The trail was beautiful. The horses were so sweet and know what they are doing. Such beautiful animals and you can see very well loved and cared for. There are other farm animals as well so it is just a fun place to visit. Our guide was great she made us feel comfortable and helped when we needed it. Definitely recommend this place for a great experience. The price was great too! Leave a tip! I also found they have small cabins to rent. Definitely checking that out next trip!

We like to thank Mary for taking us out on the trails. The ride was enjoyable for my sons. I personally found it somewhat boring not much of a scenic ride for my taste but perfectly understandable for a beginner trail rider who would like to be led on a tight knit trail. If your an experienced rider and looking for a little more, this is not for you. Horses are sound and looked well kept, tack in fair conditions. Guides are very instructive and friendly, definitely recommend for beginners . Thanks again Running Brook. Best of luck .

We had a fun time doing a photo shoot with our 8 family members. My parent are 80+ yrs old. The owner and staff were exceptional getting our parents on and off the horses. Then the rest of family went on a trail ride. The horses are well cared for and are great on the trail. It was my second time there, it won't be my last. Had a great time with family and again I want to thank the owner and staff for a great day💠💠💠💠💠

Such a quaint and fun place for horseback riding. The horses were beautiful and the staff was beyond helpful. This was our first time riding and they (horses and staff) made it incredibly fun and delightful! We just happened upon this location due to many places being closed for the season and boy am I glad we did! What a little gem and super reasonable prices. During our trail ride our guide made easy conversation with us as well and including and reassuring my nervous 9 year old. We discussed many plans they have for the future on their ranch and we can’t wait to go back next year and see if it came to fruition. Thank you for this incredible memory!

My family absolutely LOVED this experience. Everyone was wonderful, spent time answering questions and educating us while encouraging us to handle the horses while out on the trail. It was so fun! Beautiful property, sweet horses and nice folks. Even on a sunny day, the trail offered some shade, little hills and dips and some trotting along the way. This little gem is worth a stop if you are in the area.

We did the hour long trail ride and had a great time. The trails were fairly wide and there was a nice spot to take pictures. We did a few different trail rides around the area and this was by far our favorite, the saddles were comfy to sit in, we had some issues with a different place we went too (the saddle was too big for me and just generally uncomfortable for my boyfriend). The trail was lovely and calming and mostly under the canopy so even in the middle of the afternoon it was cool. The horses were wonderful and calm, I'm always a little wary of a horse I'm not used to but I felt completely safe on Plunkin AND our guide was fun to talk to! This was an amazing birthday gift from my boyfriend. Would absolutely go again if we're ever in the area.

Best trail ride I’ve ever been on! We did an hour long trail ride and it was just perfect, loved the mini obstacles during the ride, and the horses were absolutely beautiful and well cared for. I will definitely be coming back in the future! 10/10

We went horse back riding for the first time yesterday, myself, grandson and granddaughter. It was great right from the start, they were so good to the kids who were super excited right from the start! The ride was great and took the time at the end to take pictures and make this day extra special. We definitely will be going back. Would highly recommend!

My husband and came to Running Brook Stables to get used to being on horse back. We were on our way to Wyoming to be on a Dude ranch. We started to get in condition in late April, my husband was complete beginner, me I hadn’t ridden in 30 years but had grown up riding horses. They started us Out in the ring and gave us the basics. The next time we came went right out on a trail ride, the horses we rode were calm and well behaved. The women trail leaders, Mary, Katie, and Mattie were fantastic. The owners Ray, Cindy and Chris are very knowledgeable about the horses and the land the trails are on. This spring and summer has unusually wet and muddy so the going is slow, with the wet and muddy conditions the woods are full of little black flies and mosquitoes, so come prepared with bug spray and sun tan lotion when the sun comes out. I’ve had so much fun at the stable.Thanks so much.

Can't say enough about this riding stable. We made am appointment, the horses and staff were ready for us when we arrived. They paired us perfectly with similar personality horses. For amateur riders, our guide, Maddie, took us on appropriate trails until she was sure of our abilities, or lack there of, then took us through some obstacles and some harder trails. If you're looking for a fun time, Running Brook is the place to find it!

Coming from someone with 25+ years horse experience, who used to manage a trail riding facility, this place gets 5 stars for sure!Horses are well fed, well groomed and tack fit is suited to each horse. They were very nice and accommodating! Being from out of town, we were late. I called to let them know and they were very understanding. When we arrived, they had a guide ready to take us. They just took my daughter and I on our own private tour, that was still an hour! I was shocked they did that. I felt bad that we were late and they were overly nice! Our guide was so sweet and nice! Highly recommend!!

We had a group of 7 this week and had the best time. The staff took the time to match us with a horse that matched our experience and they also let my 6 year old ride with my wife. None of the other places we looked at would let us do that and saved us a bunch of tears from an upset little girl who said she was "too young for a boring pony ride".They took us on a bunch of different trails, even on a few with hills. We were asked if we felt comfortable doing hills before hitting those trails. It was so awesome and worth every penny. We will definitely go back on our next trip to Lake George.

What a wonderful experience... Cindy is very knowlegeble about the horses which appeared to be well cared for and very nice to ride, Mary G was our wrangler and we had so much fun and learned so much. The four of us who went on the ride haven't been riding regularly for years and we got a refresher, all questions answered and just had a great time. All staff members at the stables were friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend Running Brook... going back next week!
