This place always has everything I’m looking for when I come to shop for my hamsters. However, today I came in and noticed a hamster running on the wheel and I tapped the glass gently and the grumpy lady with barely any teeth working there said “don’t knock on the glass”. She also wouldn’t answer my questions in regards to the hamsters, she avoided total eye contact with me and constantly rolled her eyes. Her tone of voice was very rude, she seemed annoyed. I told her “I already filed a complaint for you being rude to me with the associate up front.” She then has the guts to tell me “I wasn’t rude to you whatsoever.” Then she mumbled something under her breath which I replied to saying “pardon”. Then my mom told me it wasn’t worth wasting my energy on that crazy woman. I absolutely love Petsmart but please, do better when selecting your employees

I haven’t worked here in years, so maybe it has changed. I truly do not recommend going here. When I worked in grooming, they don’t teach you at all to bathe, trim or cut a dog. I was supposed to just watch and know how to do it after. I didn’t cut dogs but I worked with someone “in training” to be a groomer. They also thought that they were better than people based off of their dogs. If your dog was old, different, had trauma or wasn’t a “popular breed” they would bash you, talk down to your dog, and treat your dog horribly. I bought my ex’s 17 year old schnauzer who, we found out after, had ended up having the signs and symptoms of diabetes. She was having seizures, vomiting, and increased urination. I took her there because they USED to have a caring groomer who loved animals. Everyone else didn’t know she was my dog. They talked horribly about her and attempted to just leave her in the crate. I was disgusted. When I moved to the front it’s an egotistical power struggle. They only cared about bossing people around. Even arguing with other stores for no reason. I don’t know if anything has changed now. But it has taken me this long to post about this place because of how horrible and traumatic the experience was.

WORST SERVICE AND DOG TRIM EVER !!!!!!I cannot express how disappointed I am with the haircut my poor dog received at this place. It was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The groomer seemed completely clueless and inexperienced. Not only did they completely ignore the specific instructions I gave them, but they also managed to turn my dog's once beautiful coat into an uneven, patchy mess.I understand that mistakes can happen, but this was beyond a simple mistake. It's clear that the groomer lacked the skills and attention to detail required for the job.To make matters worse, the customer service was just as bad as the haircut. When I tried to express my dissatisfaction, they brushed me off and acted like it was no big deal. No apology, no attempt to make things right – just a complete lack of professionalism.I wouldn't wish this experience on any pet owner. It's heartbreaking to see my furry friend suffer the consequences of such incompetence. I strongly advise anyone considering this place for grooming to think twice. Your beloved pet deserves better than this shoddy treatment.Photos: what I got / what I requested

Of course, the animals get five stars! I've enjoyed having pets throughout the years since I was a kid. The store is relatively clean, but the only issue I have is they have no bags with handles like the Deer Park Ave PetSmart, so they'll give you a small box. I feed feral cats outside and I get the Fancy Feist for them. I also have gotten hamsters there and they seem to take good care of them.

Worst grooming service, they have inexperienced kids as groomers who don’t care about your pets be careful about this location and the manager is never at the location. They charge extra money without your consent. If you love your pet avoid this location for grooming .

Please have your workers in grooming respect customer wishes . Not to do what they want . My toy poodle had a buzz cut it was ok but hair on tail was all gone .

Friendly staff! Love the pet adoption section. We adopted 1 kitten then we wanted more! Picked out 2 & came home with 4! Jean is beyond caring & wonderful in the adoption area. Pets are beyond well cared for! If you want to adopt a kitten/cat this is the store to do it in!!

If privacy is needed in back at personal rooms, maybe they should put up signs or cover the windows... Instead of the associate at the desk rudely saying "Don't look in there because of private appointments"Be aware how you talk to people because you don't know what they are going through!!!

1 of worse run Petsmart locations. There fish Department was worse i seen in all of the Petsmart stores. I was in theFarmingdale location on 2-25-24 Sunday. Dead fish everywhere. They run on a system and to have dead fish inmost tanks is bad. It will spread to all fish. .no body cares in that store.

This is an amazing place to leave your pets. They are so well taken care of and the staff truly loves what they do. I had to leave my dogs for 3 weeks while we moved. Although I was devastated, I quickly learned that they loved doggy daycamp so much that I don’t think they wanted to come home. I recommend them highly, and without any hesitation

I took my dog for a bath and sanitary cut, he came back with patches of his fur missing, his fur looked and felt like wire. They did not shampoo him, they did not trim him. I was so unhappy for my puppy.The groomers name is Carlos, he was very inexperienced.

If I could rate my experience 0 stars, I would! My 11-month-old Havanese had a grooming appointment with groomer Jessica V at the PetSmart location in Farmingdale, New York.Jessica falsely claimed that my dog was matted and left my dog unfinished in a horrid condition. SHE IS A BUTCHER, NOT A DOG GROOMER! When we picked up our dog, he looked unrecognizable, as if another animal mauled him. Jessica did not apologize for the horrendous job she did on my dog instead, she laughed and aggressively defended herself. Jessica V and her fellow team should be ashamed of their unprofessionalism. When I picked up my dog, Jessica had shaved off my dog's fur and did not bother to shape up his coat leaving behind uneven patches of fur. I did not give any permission for my dog to have his fur cut so short! My dog seemed as if he was unwanted as I received no apology or offer to fix the mess they made on my dog. The manager named "Hall" was very unprofessional and verbally attacked us as we tried to defend ourselves during the current situation. Please stay away from grooming your dog at this location. I have attached below images of my dog after being "groomed" by Jessica V.

Came in to look at the cats up for adoption and adopted a beautiful cat from here. Made sure we got everything needed to bring her home prior to the adoption. Jean was so helpful and knowledgeable about all the cats and has copies of all medical records for each one. Just happened to find the one who was great for us.If you are looking for a new furbaby for your home, I highly recommend adopting from a rescue!!

I brought my sheltie for grooming. Paid for bath and ferminater which is a brushing of the undercoat. Well all the did was buzz my dogs hair off almost to the skin. Paid extra for the brushing. There was no hair to brush. Posting before after pictures

I was so nervous before I left for vacation because one of my pups was on a lot of medication and I couldn’t imagine anyone else caring for her. Kathryn Barbato, Rafe Klopotowski and Kayla Bethea took such wonderful care of both my dogs. I was not worried from the moment I dropped them off because they were on top of it, especially a big medication schedule. I just picked them up and they are picture perfect and happy. Great happy place. Their aquarium/terrarium/cage selection is one of the best: it's been a while since I've seen such good choices. Lots of healthy fish. Also happened to have really nice bird toys - one was a score with one of my birds.They also have a lot of dog and cat food, but someone else can review it - I don't go into that section much. But I did see on-site grooming, hospital, and hotel.

My Pit Terrier mix had her first stay at the Farmingdale store and We have never been more satisfied with a Pet Motel. there is NOTHING Negative that was visible to us. We made telephone inquiries about her during her stay and received positive responses. We will definitely be returning to PetSmart for her extended lodging.

This is intended for a 0 star, and is specifically towards the doggie day camp management and the GSM running this place. I’ve written a formal complaint to corporate. Experiencing discrimination from Alyssa, the supervisor of the dog day camp, and the GSM did not take any of my concerns seriously, he just condoned her actions and completely ignored her behavior and told me basically as a customer my feelings are not important because her seniority of “16 years” she was in his eyes “the best”. The disgraceful and unpleasant interactions with her, not once but 3 times, was solely abrupt, condescending and not professional one bit. Unfortunately, I work 5 minutes away so in the event of an emergency I can run and get my pup. I work in healthcare and sales, will continue to tell friends and family about this experience.

Customer rep in fish department the girl with the blue hair. was very unhelpful and rude. She never made eye contact when I asked her a question about my fishtank setup and dismissed me all together as if she was too busy to help me. The lady at the register had no personality.as.well. I will never go back there. Very uneducated people working there.

This PetSmart location had nothing in stock. Staff at register was not knowledgeable about pricing or products. The one sales person helped me with the beta fishes and she was nice. I like the PetSmart in Huntington Station much better, much cleaner, better staff. Also, prices for pet bird food seemed much higher in Farmingdale, and the shelves were not stocked.

Went for grooming salon. Awful experience. I had reservations for 4 dogs and brought them. They refused to accept 2 dogs because they are too early. When I explained the situations IRVIN insisted that it's not safe to keep them in kennel.. (Not sure why they have kennels..?) When asked for manager, he said he's basically the manager here and that I can talk to him because manager is away and he knows front and back of how things go around here(He said this five times... haha)Okay, but here comes the real surprise. So the 2 of the dogs were rejected and 2 were able to make it in. When I come back to pick the 2 dogs who got in 3 hours after their booking start time, it turns out one of the dog did not even start. They care about the timing so much yet, not for ours..Maybe it was due to absence of the manager, but I feel they need to be more professional, transparent, and consistent...

Take your puppy to get groomed else where. Invoice wasn’t explained, was told on the phone it was going to be $55. Got the invoice stating $65. I got the puppy bath plus the top dog. No accommodations or price change because they weren’t able to get the job done as mentioned. Got charged special handling for him biting her? I mentioned that my puppy was uncomfortable around new people in the comments prior to the appointment and he’s a puppy, he’s still teething. They asked me nothing about him. This is the second time I bring him here the first time was flawless no trouble at all, they were able to provide the full service as stated on the website. When I arrived I asked again if they’d be able to try to trim around his face because his eyes are covered…go to a professional groomer. Waste of money, will NEVER use PetSmart again. So much for “professional” grooming my dog looked exactly the same as he went in.

I love that PetSmart has adoptable small animals. I have adopted a few male mice and a dwarf hamster from various stores over the years. I always look for adoptable critters every time I go!
