Great Petco, definitely one the largest in Queens. They carry everything you need for your pets, and they have pets for sale (bearded dragons, fish, hamsters, turtles, crickets, rats, etc.)The customer service here is really good, I had a good experience with every single worker I had conversation with. It was pleasant. The store is really busy, so things can move a tiny bit slow by the register, but that’s my only critique about it. I visited here on a DoorDash order request, and the workers made it so easy. The parking lot is huge, so no need t worry about street parking ot metered parking. Other stores are close by also, for any other shopping needs. They also have an option to adopt a cat - for the car lovers out there’

The "assistant manager" of the store, treated me in a demeaning way upon intake of my pet. Although my appointment was at 3:15 and I arrived at 2:45, they took another customer without an appointment before me. By the time my documentation was gathered, Melanie (the "assistant manager") came on an examined the documents with a fine tooth comb. While this was my dogs first time at the location, I contacted the facility earlier in the morning to be sure I had everything that I needed before coming. The manager that I spoke to in the morning, didn't seem to be there when I arrived in the morning; but Melanie pretended to be her. She examined all documents for over 45 minutes while my dog was crying and experience great anxiety. I had to ask for water for my dog and I, myself, was feeling overwhelmed from the entire experience that I was being put through. The manager told me I needed to bring in proof of rabies vaccine, plus two other vaccines; although the Petco website only mentioned the rabies vaccine. In spite of bringing this documentation in, Melaine said the records were not sufficient because they didn't have expiration dates; even though the vaccines had been given in 2024. Upon further examination, Melanie refused to accept the e-signatures of the vet who my dog was seen by. She passively humiliated and dehumanized me for over 45 minutes and after submitting countless forms of proof to her, Melanie finally accepted my dogs information. By that point it was after 4:00 pm and the groomer cookie was scheduled to be seen by, said she was going home in an hour. Cookies visit was rushed and she was denied the full service that we scheduled her for, at the expense of how the manager chose to handle the matter. Somehow, my bill came to $80 even though I didn't get the full grooming package and then the manager applied "discounts"; although my charges didn't reflect what cookie got. I have before and after images of cookie and it seemed as though all she got was a bath and sanitary clean up. I am very disappointed in the experience that Petco provided, not only to me but to my dog who is still adjusting after being in a shelter. There was no one else on call at the store, to better assist me and as a result, I was under the microscope of someone who lacked empathy/care for my pet and I. She explained that the actual manager, Janette, would be back from vacation sometime next week. I expect to be compensated for the distress that the assistant manager of the store put me and my dog through

Avoid avoid avoid. Terrible experience on sat 04/06/2024. No one would help, in fact the minimal help I received was totally rude begrudgingly "I'll point to were you can find something like that" proceeded to walk very fast and point with her finger. No help, no communication and rudeness beyond compare...my advice to everyone, stay away from thus store.

I recently visited my local Petco store and had the pleasure of meeting a remarkable employee named Joseph. From the moment I stepped foot into the store, Joseph's passion for animals and extensive knowledge of reptiles became evident. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he made my experience truly exceptional. One of the standout aspects of my visit was Joseph's extensive knowledge about reptiles. His expertise was impressive, and he was able to answer all of my questions with clarity and detail. It was evident that he genuinely cared about educating and helping customers understand the unique needs and characteristics of each reptile species. What made my experience truly outstanding was Joseph's willingness to go above and beyond. Not only did he provide insightful information, but he also encouraged me to interact with the reptiles. Joseph took the time to introduce me to various reptiles, patiently explaining their behavior and how to handle them safely. Being able to hold these magnificent creatures was an unforgettable experience that I truly cherished.Joseph's dedication to his work was evident in every interaction. He was attentive, friendly, and went out of his way to ensure my visit was enjoyable. His genuine passion for animals and his eagerness to share his knowledge created an engaging and welcoming environment for customers. Moreover, the entire store was well-maintained, and the reptile enclosures were clean and spacious, reflecting Petco's commitment to animal welfare. Joseph played a crucial role in maintaining these standards, ensuring the reptiles were healthy and comfortable.I am grateful for Joseph's exceptional service and the wonderful experience he provided during my visit to Petco. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and willingness to let customers interact with reptiles made a significant impact on my day. I wholeheartedly recommend Joseph to anyone visiting the store in search of expert guidance and a memorable reptile encounter.

The store is dirty and they need to take better care of their fish. I bought two fish and within two days these fish are dying. I exchanged one for a healthier one and now this one is dying too. They need to clean the tanks and make sure that the fish are healthy to be purchased. I am not coming here again.

Nice small shop but a definitely a wait time to check out! Furthermore my kid wanted to use the bathroom but guess what, no restrooms! Animals are welcome to use the floors at their own will but no bathrooms for humans, explain the irony here!

I've had very positive experiences with the vaccination clinic at this location, but I've been trying to call the store for four days in a row, multiple times a day, and no one ever answers the phone. I need to follow up with the clinic staff, because the prescription refill they submitted is for the wrong weight class for our two dogs. I tried to resolve the issue online but was told that I had to speak with the clinicians at the local Petco location to get the order changed. When I've been in the store, I've seen many employees working, so I don't understand how there is no one there to physically answer the phone (and there's also no way for me to leave a message). It's extremely unprofessional.

Great store, but just extremely busy. With only 2 cashiers, check out took extremely long. Other than that, no complaints..both female cashiers were very sweet

Made a stop here to pick up a few supplies for a fish tank I work on for a school. Staff was friendly and asked if I needed help or need any to please let them know so they can help because that's what they're there for. It's not often that staff helps in that manner. They have a nice large store with a variety to choose from. I asked one question and the sales person wasn't sure but said, they'll get me someone who can and they did. They have fresh water fish, salt water fish, dogs and cat supplies. A few rodents for pets and reptiles as well. I would recommend this location.

I used to love this Petco but this past week. I call and no one answers. They say they have items in stock and when I order them online to pick up I get told it's out of stock. They used to put the orders in the lockers. Now they're not doing it. This we was not a good week with this petco. Maybe they were having staffing issues?

Very happy with my grooming experience today. Marian greeted me at 8am and asked what kind of haircut I wanted for my dog and even suggested the relaxation package because she saw how anxious my dog was. My dog came out beautiful and smelling wonderful. This is my first time bringing my dog to Petco for grooming and I will definitely be returning.

I usually go to the Petco in Jackson Heights in Queens NY. However, I’ve been really upset because they never have the food I buy for my Labrador Nova. I end up having to drive to College Point and that atore is totally full. It’s just farther for me. So I bought some food in College Point and then decided to try buying and ordering it on line. I got a great discount but I am still waiting to see when it arrives. I also ordered a second time for a discount. I have to see how that goes as well. If everything turns out well, I will probably continue to order on line and have everything delivered at home.

I got my dog groomed recently and she gets super nervous for vet appointments and grooming appointments, but the staff was so sweet and patient! Alex was the one who groomed my dog, I highly recommend them! :)

I'm not going to knock Petco. It does serve the pet owning community. It's prices are reasonable, stores large and well maintained. My only issue is that Petco is kind of like a Lowes or Homedepot of pets. These types of business tend to force out the mom and pop small shops. In this area (31 av to Roosevelt between 70 street and 80th street) used to have two family owned pet shops. The owners of both business used to welcome questions from potential customers. They were happy to dispense advice about caring for any animal they sold. The Petco sales model is more of a profit driven, make the sale, push the cheap toys and over priced pet food. At least that is my impression.

It's always a pleasure visiting this Petco store. They're always well stocked especially with the items I need and some that I pick up as extra goodies. There prices are reasonable and the staff is helpful attentive and pleasant! The store is is almost always well organized even on a Friday evening! I love it and I am definitely a satisfied customer!

We booked an appointment last weekend and brought in our dog. The groomer was rude and did not want to groom our dog because "her hair was too short". All we needed was a trim around her belly and paws. She did not want to any of the grooming services we booked online but finally agreed to do everything.Everything went down hill a few days later when we found our dog to be covered in flea bites throughout her body. The only source of the fleas was Petco. We will never do business with this location again and I recommend finding a cleaner location.

They have Guinea pigs up for sale, but in some really inhumane conditions. There’s no food: Guinea pigs NEED unlimited Timothy or other hay at ALL times in order to keep a healthy gut and teeth. Guinea pigs need to eat constantly or their gut could go into stasis leading to death. Hay also helps them whittle down their teeth as their teeth grow constantly. There’s no pellets OR hay left in their cage. Not even to mention, there’s only one house. Guinea pigs are prey animals and need at least one home for each animal and ample space to run around. Please train your associates properly and stop the inhumane treatment of animals at petco.

This branch of Petco offers canine training and pet grooming. The staff are true pet-lovers and very knowledgeable about the animals and their care. The store is very well organized, with attractive product displays. During this review, there was a ridiculously long line for check-out, but some of this delay may stem from a new ordnance which New York City promulgated which complicates (rescue) pet adoptions. Also, amongst the aquatic products I saw some brands represented, but not others. I had hoped to purchase new filter mediums for a filter pump purchased at competing franchise Petland, but this branch of Petco was only selling a competing brand of filters, incompatible with my current tank system.

Everyone is always so friendly and make sure you find what you need. They all have great knowledge on pets and if they don't know they answer they will consult with someone to make sure I have the correct information. I take my puppy there for training and Sierra is an amazing trainer, she is very patience and fun! She makes sure my puppy and I are comfortable doing each new trick she teaches that week. Definitely recommend her as a trainer. They also have veterinarians come every Tuesday from 6pm-8pm and every Saturday from 9am-12pm to give the doggies their shots. They are very affordable compared to the vets around this neighborhood. Lastly their puppy play time (which is only for puppies with their vacciences and until 6 months old) is fantastic. All of the puppies have a chance to get friendly and us the parents watch to s we how it goes. It's also free and very helpful for them since they have to get use to other doggies.

This place is kind of terrible. Staff is great, but everything is out of stock, they send you a useless email every 10 minutes, and every discount is for their corporate convenience, on pickup or delivery. Selection is plentiful in the food for cat/dog department, but slim in other important areas. I liked the one I used to go to in Waltham MA much better.

Amanda was a great help when it came to our cat dietary needs, she helped us find a great dry cat food that’s healthy for our 1 year old cat. And helped us set an appointment for vaccines as well. Great experience!!
