I felt discriminated against by one of their cashiers. I went yesterday, Sunday, April 21, and the cashier followed me and even stood in front of me. He is a white cashier, medium long hair, covering one eye. They should put a sign, WE DO NOT ACCEPT HISPANICS 😩

I love this place! Personalized service with knowledgeable and friendly workers. Daniel personally helped me with a shower head today and saved me a call to my plumber. We're talking saving me at least $200. He went out of his way and solved my problem in just a few minutes. . Skip the big box stores and come here!

I walked into true value in eastchester to pick up a ups package for my wife. I go to the ups pick up section and notice nobody is behind the counter. I go to the main cashiers at the front of the store to ask for assistance. The young man, Christian, gave me all the attitude in the world after I told him I was there to pick up. He said no deliveries came in. I asked him if he can check. He wouldn’t because he was 1000% sure my wife’s package wasn’t there.I ask to speak to the manager just to confirm. The manager, Victoria, says the same thing. It’s not there. Neither of them bothered to look once. They were dismissive and condescending. I call my wife back and leave the store. She sends me a confirmation that the package was indeed dropped off at true value Cornell in eastchester. I get back out of my car, walk in and again, nobody at the ups pick up. I ask for assistance from the same young man, Christian and he tells me to find someone to help me. He was “busy” with no customers online. I go back to speak to Victoria, the manager. She tells me in a frustrated tone, “NO” it’s not here. I show her the confirmation email. After about 10 seconds of “searching” my wife’s package was there. I asked why couldn’t they just bother to look at my paperwork initially? Why did we have to do this back and forth? It was an awful example to set for other employees as a manager and clearly her management style is leaching into how other employees treat customers. I called Human Resources and left a complaint. What a smug and arrogant person. Both of them. My family and I just moved to eastchester but we will find another hardware store to go to. My family and I won’t go there after being treated that way.

Cornell’s Hardware is a great plsce to shop for virtually anything you might beed for your home’s interior or exterior! They have all kinds of tools, household supplies as well as portable pools and all kinds of gardening tools, soils etc.

This store has everything!! And the prices are very fair. I was a Foley’s in Larchmont customer for years and tolerated the obscene prices as cost of convenience but fortunately discovered Cornell’s. This is my go-to store for anything home, garden, hardware related.

Great shop with a great staff. I mainly come here for my homebrewing ingredients and items. Get that advertised on the website! There's probably a ton of people that don't know about the homebrewing stuff downstairs.It's an absolute must to keep the department around, and well stocked. It's the only option for most people in the county!

I want to commend Victor & his assistant in the hardware department for their patient & expert advice today. I needed to replace the broken bottom hinge on my medicine cabinet. As advised by Victor’s helper, I brought in the top hinge so that they could see if they had it. Victor was so patient and thorough in figuring out which hinge was needed. Although Cornell didn’t carry it, Victor took the time to find it on Amazon and let me take a picture of it so that I could order it. Even though he knew that he was not going to make a sale, he still invested his time, advice & patience to help me out. Cornell staff is so professional. Thank so very much! Rosemary Timmermans

If you need something - almost anything - you will probably find it here! And at a good price!! And if that isn't enough, the service will bring you back again and again. The staff is friendly and helpful and the know the store and it's products!! I needed a battery for my bathroom scale and could NOT get the cover off. So scale and all, I headed in and of course, got grat service, my battery installed and change in my pocket!

Super helpful. Always friendly (I'm very skeptical of any review saying they are not). The guys always know where and what things are, even if you don't know what they're called (as opposed to Lowe's or Home Depot where the staff can't tell the difference between a 2 by 4 and a lawnmower).This place has all the basics covered. It looks small, but there's nothing the bigger stores have that I've needed.

This place is great. Just purchased a new home and have been making a lot of trips to Cornell’s. Almost everything you could need from a hardware store and most importantly the staff is top notch. When you stop at the big box stores it’s almost impossible to find help. This place every aisle an employee is asking if you need any assistance and if they don’t know exactly what you need they walk you to find someone who does. Couldn’t have been more impressed with the employees here.

I Always Have A Very Good Experience!Most of the staff worked here for years and they are very knowledgeable. Night and day difference from going to Home Depot or Lowe's. Whatever they don't have in stock you can order online and pick up at the store. TWO THUMBS UP!

This place rivals any small hardware store out there. The staff is amazing and seems to know just about everything about home improvement there is to know. I think the entire surrounding community of dads with houses relies deeply on these guys. The prices aren't bad either. I always try here first before I go to a big box store.

This store is fantastic - I am hesitate about going in right now so I order online - if I can't find a product someone is always available on the phone to help me find the item and code. The curbside pick up has been working great - I just pull up, open the trunk and they place the goods inside and I drive off. Thank you Cornells for being so accommodating during these difficult times. I truly appreciate you!

Update: can't say enough how great this place is. They have an answer for every home improvement question....and I have a lotVery knowledgable and helpful staff. I've gone in numerous times with questions about projects large and small and have gotten great advice. I also got an easily 20min tutorial on grass care from their lawn guy. Great local place that employees local kids as well. Only gripe is the 6p closing on weekdays.

Great store, very helpful workers. Shelves are a bit messy,but the service is excellent. If they don't have what your looking for there's a good chance they can order it for you, just leave them your phone no. And they will call when it arrives. I've done it many times. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Old fashion service never gets old.

Best hardware store ever! Nicest and most knowledgeable staff ever, anywhere, for any store not just garden, yard and hardware. Over and over they have the opportunity to sell me on the most expensive but what they recommend is what is best for my needs. They have everything you would need for your home - and again with very quick and friendly service.I saw that someone said "awful parking", I completely disagree, very easy to get in and out, direction of traffic only goes one way, and compared to driving all the way over to Yonkers and dealing with that traffic and headache parking?!!Service is the key, the guys and gals at Cornell's can help you with your problem or needs, genuinely and authoritatively.

Sheltering in place and I needed some stuff. Within 15 minutes of placing an online order for contactless pick up I received a call that two of my four items were out of stock. The guy took the time to find excellent replacement items, in fact possibly better than the ones I had rushed to order and would probably have chosen had I taken the time to explore more merchandise. And basically the same price. Similar experience in February when I went in for something and they directed me to something much less expensive. I was a little nervous about it but I got it home and it did the trick. I recommend Cornell's True Value Hardware.

Great hardware store, they always have what you need, and if they don't they will try to order it for you, if your willing to wait. They staff is very knowledgable,pleasant, and polite. They always know where everything is. They alway answer your questions, give good advise. Maria and Robin are always pleasant and polite at the checkout. Steve,Victor,Ricky,Mal,Danny and Oscar are a pleasure.You may pay a few pennies more than Home Depot, but its well,well worth it. Home Depot can never live up to the service and knowledge you get at Cornels.

Mary Beth explained our options for a new grill. She helped us make a good decision. Karen and I are the proud owners of a new grill that was assembled at a better price than Costco! I am impressed with their professionalism and ability to get me a grill, put together and working in a timely manner.
