BEWARE- I thought this place had decent employees who care about the safety & well-being of animals entrusted in their care however I was wrong. They cut my animal during an appointment, attempted to cover it up, and lied about it when questioned. Try them at your own risk but be Warned!

We have been bringing our dogs to D and R Grooming for a few years now and they’re pretty great!The store is not much to look at from the outside but the staff seem to really care for the dogs. Whenever I see the staff with the dogs, they are super gentle and caring. I like that they do a full cleaning so we don’t have to do the extras (like cleaning the ears) ourselves. If you have a request, like keep the tail hair long, you just have to ask. I have recommended this groomer to friends and family.

Used this dog groomer one time for my Havaniase and scheduled a second one even though issues the first. The first appointment was rescheduled and on the rescheduled date the dog was picked up late. Grooming was not done well as tail was kept too long and would get dirty when he would go. Chalked it up to the first time and after apologies scheduled a second appointment. Although I scheduled a pick up/drop off appointment the son did not take the appointment right and once again had to reschedule. When I tried to get another date they would not give me a pick up time expecting me to be home waiting for them. When I reminded them that this is the second time they were unreliable and told them I would need to put a review as people should be made aware of how unorganized this experience could be the owner got nasty told me to find another groomer if I were to write a negative review and proceeded to hang up on me. This is only the third groomer I have used in all the years. Switched from last groomer because of a big price increase but quickly figured by using this groomer that you get what you pay for. Not worth the cost saving. Very rude, unreliable and unprofessional. If this is how they treat the pet parents- I worry about how they treat the pets. Would not recommend for so many reasons

Very friendly and polite. They were beyond patient when dealing with a temperamental dog like mine :) The groomer was extremely kind and I will definitely be taking my dog back here. All for a reasonable price too! Love it.

I have been using DNR for a few years. Basically they are good. However, their dog grooming hours are erratic and they don't do the best job communicating that to customers. They need to be more up-front in posting their store hours and make things a little bit more convenient for the customer.

Best doggy daycare! Watched my lil guy while I was away for almost 2 weeks got him back with the cutest little doggy haircut I've ever seen. My lil Rocco loves it so much there since then I drop him off before i go to work now! (Best for me is its right by the Centre Ave LIRR train station.) The family that owns the shop are so sweet I told them I had to write a review and let people know how great they are! I've tried a lot of dog groomers all over from the five towns to Long beach. D&R is the best dog groomer by far!
