Would not have expected a True Value Hardware store in the middle of Easthampton, but here it is. This place is just packed to the rafters with anything you might need to fix a problem in your home. I did indeed find badly needed superglue (I got Gorilla Glue which is great stuff) amongst things to reissue electronic, appliance, outdoor problems. Of course they also have the seasonal area where you can find beach gear such as chairs, unregistered, etc. They were a little gruff, but still a great find in The Hamptons.

Only go if you find no alternatives, I found items 300% more expensive than Amazon. I understand the convenience of instant gratification but the mark up is unacceptable.

I went here to buy a bunch of light bulbs. They have a huge selection so I needed some help. I stepped to the lady at the front desk (it was my bad as she was so impolite) and asked some help; she said ‘go ask someone else at the light bulb section’ - in impolitely. I was waiting at least 10 mins after a guy came he said rudely ‘all the light bulbs are here’. … Wow, big help….Then I found everything without help, wanted to pay but this lady at the front desk was incredibly rude, unhelpful and negative. She looked like I bothered her, she hated that basically she had to help me or just she had to do her job. Next time I rather drive to another hardware store or go to Home Depot where the employees are at least nice and helpful. Worst experience ever!!!!!

My wife and I are grateful to have this well-run hardware store right in the heart of East Hampton Village. Very helpful staff, good prices, and great selection. Last week, I purchased a new chainsaw, a wheelbarrow, and gardening tools. Staff were friendly each time I visited the store, and helped me to find everything I needed. Super convenient, and prices were in line with what these items would have cost me online or from a larger/chain store.

Came in to get a can of paint. Asked the lady at the counter if there was a bathroom she scowled at me and told me to go to the key counter and turn left. I go over by the key guy and ask if there's a bathroom and he tells me no, go next door. If you're going to charge an insane mark up on everything in your store you might as well be somewhat friendly!!! Home Depot employees have more manners than these people. Seriously. I've met millionaires who are more humble. If this place wasn't the only place to buy paint on a Sunday I'd skip over it like a rock on a flat lake.

It's normally hard to find someone to help you in this store, and when you do, they're often not able to help. The keys they make don't work.I would have given three or four stars, but this past summer, one of their employees (who was still wearing a True Value Hardware uniform shirt) was skateboarding in town, and veered into my lane with no warning, so that I almost hit him. He then gave me the finger. I rolled down my window and told him to signal with his arm next time because I didn't want someone to him him. He responded by screaming that I should go you-know-what myself. It would be a nice store if they hired competent staff.

Had a great experience. These types of neighborhood True Value shops are the mainstay of hardware stores in small towns and this one is no exception. Gene was very helpful in assisting me to find what I need. Everyone was professional and polite, even on a busy Saturday in the height o summer.

Although Amazon is great, these guys are better. A well stocked store with knowledgeable employees, this store is always there in a pinch in the middle of a project. From the smallest screw to replacing torn window and door screens, Village Hardware remains your friendly neighborhood hardware store. And really how can one complain about the prices given the rents charged in East Hampton! Sure I could have purchased that $0.50 O-ring I needed to fix my power washer from Amazon for $5 for 225 pieces, but do I really need 225 of them, and to wait several days for it? Another example, I searched for hours to find a part on Amazon to fix a handheld shower head, but hmmm what key words to search for when you do not know exactly what the part is called. Last week, walked in here told them my problem and within a minute I had the part in hand to fix it. The part is called something so generic like "on-off shower valve" I would have never found it and realized it was the correct product online! Lastly I should mention, the gallon of furniture stain I ordered from Amazon, which took 2 weeks because the first shipment was damaged in transit, and then the replacement item finally arrived with the bottom of the can dented on one side by several inches, meaning the can could not sit upright while I was staining furniture, and I had to pour the entire can into another bucket. Some things are just not meant to be shipped!

Where do I start? I had keys made they didn't work. Didn't know that was a possibility since the keys basically make themselves with the equipment they have. Ordered some Pete Moss and was told to drive my Mercedes around the back and somebody will put it in my car. The sales person smart when saying that. It was kind of presumptuous to assume I drove one . I don't and it was a very rude comment. Ordered screen doors replacement they came and picked them up on the first day which was great but then lost the doors. When I called to find out when they would be delivered back was given a day it never happened. I called back and was told they would be delivered on a certain day which they were But they were replaced upside down. I'll be going to Amaganset hardware from now on.

I spent 15 minutes on the phone trying to get a Weber grill ordered. When I mentioned to Chris that I hoped he would price protect and I had found the grill elsewhere for less, he rudely said to buy it elsewhere and hung up the phone. I always try to help small business owners, but in this case, Chris made the decision easy for me. I've now bought my grill for $350 less and cant wait to get it fired up. Sorry Chris, not only did you lose my business for this grill but I will no longer visit your store which is sad because I had a 20 year relationship with you. Its a shame given there are really nice people who work in this store, you just aren't one of them.

Live in Amagsanett but would happily drive a bit further to visit this hardware store instead of our local store. Everyone that works here is so friendly and helpful, especially James who is an actual angel. Will come back for all my hardware store needs. 5 starts would’ve given 100!

I went there just once to buy a gas powered lawn mower. I found one but it didn't have the bag to store the cut grass. So the guy said they have one at the warehouse which is 10 minutes from their store. So it will take half an hour to get the other mower. We agreed to wait. This guy returned after an hour and said that they don't have it.He wasted my complete hour and I was running short on time.Never been there again.

Would give this place a 0 if I could. The manager of this store, Bernard*, is sexist and creepy. My first interaction was him directing me to showerheads and saying “yeah the ladies like these ones..” Not here for your casual sexual harassment masked as macho locker room talk in the hardware store. Unsettling experience to say the least. This indecency should be accounted for but mostly likely won’t because I can imagine your bosses also know nothing about what it feels like to simply be a woman/non-binary/queer person just trying to shop in a hardware store without patriachral gaze/comments. Y’all need a damn diversity training and or new leadership asap

I buy a lot from Home Depot and the building supply down the road but nothing quite compares to needing something extremely specific at 4pm on a Sunday and True Value having it in stock ready for pickup at 405pm. Oh and fantastic customer service!

I called to ask about Deer Spray type and sizes available. I could not believe that this VERY RUDE store person than said "Come down" and hung up.... Will never go into this store again unless they apologize........ I'll drive to Wainscott or Amagansett first.....
