This E. Greenbush store is AMAZING, with the greatest Customer Service. I walked in, frazzled and desperate and needed help obtaining the correct connecting plug for my generator because of a recent wind storm and our power was out for three days. I showed the photo's of my generator and transfer switch to the gentleman who immediately greeted me at the door (I think your name is Todd) and he helped me obtain the correct 220 male/female plug along with the extension cord that goes with it. THEN, "Nick and Tony" (Owners) took the extra step and secured (attached) the male/female plug to each end of extension cord. They wouldn't accept payment and I'm eternally grateful for this. I know for a FACT that the local big box store nearby would NEVER, EVER provided this kindness and assistance. Thank you to Todd ( I think that is your name) who greeted me at the door and provided the BEST Customer Service and of course thank you to Nick and Tony for helping as well. This Place is AWESOME !! Good Ole School Hardware Store feel with BIG Options though.. What made give a 5 was the Over the Top CS I received that is missing from our world . I was helped by James at the Desk and helped out by Jim and Jason they were super helpful giving me a tutorial if the equipment I was renting.. Man James even gave me an old school handshake and introduction..!! Yeah I’ll be back my equipment worked as it should and had no issues !! Great Job True Value 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

This is just the greatest hardware store in the area. Need a specific bolt or nut? They've got it. Cleaning stuff, paint, gardening, tools, even some automotive.The best thing is that there are always employees available to help you find what you want. You don't have to go hunting for vests or start googling store layouts.Their rental services really easy too. We rented a couple of things over the years, shop vacs, trenchers, and other small items. They've got big stuff too, and tents and stuff for parties, but I haven't used those.It isn't enormous and it doesn't have everything, but it has most of what I want. For lumber, there's Curtis lumber, but True Value has most of everything else.

I made a mistake when placing an online order. When I contacted the store by email Chris C. responded and offered to help see if my error could be corrected with out canceling the order. Next I was contacted by Mark G. who confirmed that there was an option to fix my error and I gladly accepted. Both Chris and Mark were very helpful and I appreciate the extra work they did to go out of their way to help solve a problem I created.

These guys are great. I use the rentals all the time. I've only had one problem with a machine and they got a repair tech out to the job in 30 minutes. Same machine had a problem 2 more times and they credited me for my time lost. Job got done at the end of the day and the customer was happy as was I.Good knowledgeable guys on the floor and a good manager. Business done right.I'll be going back for sure.

True Value has a good selection of the most needed items for general homeowner's jobs. John, manning the isles in the back of the store is so helpful, knowledgeable, and affable, that I hate to disappoint him when the store doesn't have what I am looking for. (Which is rare.) All the staff is helpful, and the store is well staffed. Multiple checkouts are open throughout the day. Country True Value is SO MUCH BETTER than big box alternatives if you have a question or need advice. Keep the local independents in business. Shop here, buy here. Five stars from a long time satisfied customer.

The little hardware store with everything you need. Staff greets you when you get there and they always point you to someone who knows what they are talking about. I first went to the big box store for some copper fittings. They had one of the two things I needed. Went to Country True Value and they had both fitting in stock. Not only that, but I bought both fittings for the price I would have paid at the big box. It is like this all the time. I need to go to CTV first and not waste my time other places. Bigger stores are not better stores.

This is an excellent store with great customer service. I make all my hardware purchases here, and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and there's always enough people on the floor to help you. Bright, clean, well stocked store. Worth the drive from my home in Albany.

True Value has the customer support that I value. They have people out on the floor to help you find things or answer your questions. Their prices are reasonable. They are my go to and I rarely have to go to the big boxes to find what I need.

I rented a 45 foot articulating boom lift from country true value their customer service was so Professional beginning till end. Steve the guy at the rental counter Was extremely helpful and went over and beyond to satisfy our Company Murray Painting. We had a slight problem in the beginning with the radiator they sent somebody within one hour to the job site to fix it best customer service I have ever had renting a lift.

I go to this place all the time for rentals, repairs, and various needs around the house. There is always someone close by who knows exactly where whatever I need is, or if they don't have it so there is never any wasted time searching. Very knowledgeable staff, you might pay a little bit more than at Home Depot or Lowes but for the service and know how I'll take True Value over either one of them every time!

They have EVERYTHING! Well, maybe this is a slight exaggeration, but it's a great hardware and materials store! See update below...August 2019: I'm from Long Island but visit East Greenbush now and then. Recently I needed a tool for aligning holes in multiple pieces of wood. Nothing they had in stock would have worked. Nick came back with a 100' coil of heavy wire. I said, yeah that would work but I only need about 20". Not to worry. He took me in the back found a short piece and helped me craft a nifty little tool which worked perfectly. Thanks Nick!! You guys are the BEST hardware store I have ever used!!!

I was in the market for a gas chainsaw, I had electric in the past. Went to big box store and was very disappointed with the lack of knowledge of the staff. At Country True Value, all my questions were answered and I even had a demo of the basics of a gas powered saw. Thank you!

I am discussed by this companies return policy. Bought an item that broke in a few days. Brought it with a debit card “cash” which came out of my account immediately but they won’t give cash back. There policy is to return it to your card which can take up to two days to go back into your account. Requested cash back so I could buy one some where else and was told they don’t do that but they don’t have a problem taking it immediately. Won’t be returning to this place again.JP

Well I was referred to Steve over the phone to discuss an enormous "cleaning charge" and was told the bucket needed to be "repainted". Funny, Steve told me the previous guy also paid the fee because of overspray where supposedly they had to also repaint it (it seems this bait-and-switch tactic is for all customers). It was not repainted when we rented it. It was all covered with paint in the first place. Steve also was extremely helpful by telling me after I told him $250 is a lot for a small business. His response? It's not a lot for me. Well Steve, I would like to thank you for making my day and not smiling throughout the entire time. Do not rent they're overpriced boom lifts. The most unproffesional Steve had to help me as if he owns this overpriced store. Never again.

Gave me a rental with a cord that had been spliced at least three times. Then I brought it back to them because it did not work. I was accused of not having the right amperage at my house.. It's 110v same as everyone else's. Then was sent to another store 7 miles away got a different sander. I noticed the cord also had splices. The started it in the store it worked but when I got it home... You guessed it, it didn't work.So I rewired the end and it worked. Thank god!! They did give me 24 hrs for the price of 4 but I had to guilt them into it. Wasted almost the whole day dealing with their neglected cords. Very accusatory when I brought the stuff back. Not sorry at all.
