New fish owner. Free tank turned into a few more bucks. Live plants, new filters , a cool leaf hammock what more could you need. Very helpful staff answered all questions that the Internet backed up * internet. Over a month later my Betta is thriving. Thank you.

The employees at Dunkirk Petsmart are always lovely. So friendly and welcoming, this is an excellent place to purchase canine products for my Luna.But I generally discourage purchasing small animals from Petsmart. If you would like a well socialized rodent that lasts longer than a year, I would suggest checking out smaller pet stores or breeders.I have purchased a hamster, and later a mouse from this establishment.The hamster took months to socialize, extremely skittish and aggressive, but inevitably he became an active, sweet little guy in his last month who I do miss dearly.The mouse bit the poor worker, jumped onto the ground, bit me as I scooped him up, jumped out of the box on the car ride home, and I spend the next two days trying to catch him loose in the truck. I wish I could say he became a sweet little guy but he did not. He hates me and will always try and escape his bin cage at all costs.Both rodents were quite old when I brought them home, beyond fully grown and I estimate close to a year. The hamster was with me for roughly nine months, relatively healthy before he unexpectedly passed- I am still unsure what exactly killed him. The mouse is still with me after six months, but he is looking very rough and I expect him to be passing soon from old age.If you purchase a rodent here, be weary they are older, unsocialized, and generally have unhealthy genetic qualities that will cut their lifespans.

I went to this location 2 days in a row. First day was Tuesday the 12th. I was going in to meet a kitten from Ten Lives Club located within petsmart. I was told to let cashier know what animal I was there for. Cashier got nasty w me and said to come back another time. I explained I drove an hr to get there n I wasn't going anywhere. I contacted a rep from TLC who came out to assist me. When I was done cashier apologized for being rude stating someone called in leaving her by herself. Told her I understood but it was not my problem n was no excuse for getting nasty w me. Second day I showed up to pick up my kitten. Same cashier as day before. Much more pleasant w me. She assisted me right away to get ny kitten his file n a few other things. I would recommend she learn some coping skills when she is stressed out to help build on her customer service skills.

I adopted a cat in this place and the lady who manages the animal adoptions never told me that the cat we adopted had cancer in one of his kidneys. Our Milo lived with us for 6 months before he needed to put to sleep because he was dying due to the cyst in his kidney. He was suffering and we as a family , my kids suffered for him because we loved him. Its not fair that they hide this from us . You don't do that , it is unacceptable.

I get lost in this store, they have a lot of nice things for your furbabies! Only gave 3 stars because when I walked in, no one smiled or greeted me even though I made eye contact and smiled at the cashier. The store wasn't busy, I only saw one other customer, yet not one of the employees asked if they could help me find anything! That was Not helpful or pleasant. I also stood by the register for a few minutes before I decided to ring the bell, a worker was organizing the shelves, finally realized I was waiting and came over to cash me out. Tons of room for improvement!

I took my happy dog for grooming a week ago and in return I got back a dog that is traumatized. My little chihuahua just lays around with a sad look in her eyes. She won't play around at all. I will never trust that horrible place again.

If you have nothing better to do and are thinking about purchasing products for your pets that are jaw dropping outrageously priced, then this is the place for you! Hate fast checkout? No worries! You'll have to wait for an employee to come out for at least 15mins before even noticing you after you've been standing in line for so long. 😉

If you are trying to do a Planted Aquarium or an Aquascape don't bother with this place. The selection is lacking. They don't even sell Sponge Filters.... Go to Just Pets in Irving they have everything you'll need.

I scheduled a full service grooming for my dog ($100+) via their website.Got a call the day of the appointment and was informed that his groomer, Amber, had left work without informing any of her co-workers. I was then informed that there were no other groomers available to groom my dog that day.They rescheduled my dog for this Friday morning, despite my objections due to the weather forecast. They said, "Oh no, that wont be a problem. We will schedule you for early morning." After saying I did not want the same groomer who had flaked on the first appointment, I was assured it would not be her.I just received a text saying that Amber (again) would not be grooming my dog in the morning, due to the forecast.For the exhorbitant prices they charge, they run the joint like it's a friggin' clown car.They THEN suggested I reschedule on their website. Highly unlikely.

This will be the 2nd time I was dissatisfied with my experience.1st time was last year. I received a call and was told my dog was not cooperating. I told the girl to do the best she could he is a puppy still. She called back 15 minutes later and said he was ready for pickup. When I pulled in to the parking lot I noticed the girl was in her car on break and when I entered the pet salon someone else was grooming my dog. So she gave up and lied.Yesterday when I brought dog home from grooming he was gagging and his throat was sensitive to touching.You need to do some better interviewing and training in the Dunkirk NY store. I will not be bringing my dog back there and I will be spreading the word about the terrible experiences. Very unprofessional

The associates weren't very friendly. I didn't mind that they were young I minded the fact they had no ambition, stood in a group talking amongst themselves, didn't ask any of the customers if they needed any help finding things, they were just there to collect and not want to earn their paycheck.Prices are reasonable.

Little Libby, my 8-month-old golden retriever, and I visited the store Wednesday afternoon to do some additional training outside of class. She was greeted by the staff, petted, given treats and talked to. We bought a new collar and a stuffed, blue dog, squeaky toy. We are ready for puppy graduation!It's been four years since this post. The groomer called to remind me my dog was ready for her "Spa Day" at PetSmart. I had a recent stroke and was challenged to find a way to get my bouncy dog into the salon. The staff found a way to assist me. This was a kindness that was greatly appreciated. You can't pay employees for this type of consideration. This is one of the many reasons that I love the Dunkirk store! I wish I had a photo to show you how beautiful Libby looked when I picked her up. Unfortunately, Libby takes homeland security seriously. When we arrived home, she got right into patrol mode. She removed her pretty orange and black ear bows and began inspecting her backyard and consulting with her troops (stuffies). I did not have an opportunity to snap a photo. That's my girl! Thank you Keara! Libby said to tell you how much she loved your snazzy yellow boots with the honey bees!

Most of the crew are very friendly. Wish they carried or offered the ability to get different fish or pets sent to the location upon request. Also, if an item is on clearance on the shelves the register sould identify this. I was over charged on a few items I selected specifically for the pricing and didn't realize until I returned home.

Usually I have no problem getting my dog groomed here. This time however, I am very unsatisfied! The groomer said not to shave because “the hair doesn’t grow back the same!” When arriving I was so excited to see my doodle and his awesome hair cut only to find him completely shaved down to the point where I can see skin in some parts. The hair is super patchy and to be honest I could’ve done that myself and saved the $100!! Highly recommend not getting your dog groomed here.

I go into this PetSmart every once in awhile. Every time I walked in in the last three years that I've been here in New York. I was always greeted with a Hello how are you from the cashier or an employee standing by the door. They are knowledgeable on the product that they carry and they help me out wants. Although as a consumer you and I both know we're going in there for what we want. Very friendly staff very clean store I will be a returning customer

I love their price match guarantee. I get my phone out and search for the items that I am buying and they never give me trouble matching that price. They have a great selection and most of the time their price is already the lowest I can find.

I've gone twice and everything is overpriced and i couldn't find what was needed. Went to Ollie's and they had more options for cheaper. I might just drive the extra distance to go to Pet supplies plus.
