The staff is great, the store is clean and the variety is great. I really don't have to look for anything as I just ask and they show me. I am looking forward to shopping... I like the holiday season and the decorations used at Chirstmas time and New Years ... many more .

All needed conveniences under one roof, and very affordable. Books, toys, clothing, cosmetics, medicines, DVDs/blu-rays, housewares, et cetera. Outside in the sizable parking lot is a kiosk for video rentals, and a clothing drop. There are a clean bathroom, two water fountains and an automatic teller machine (ATM). Free, fast wi-fi, and DollarGeneral offers an app which makes shopping easier.

I am a baker and It nice not to go out of town to shop. Also like I said I'm a baker and DG is starting to carry cake decorating supplies like cake boxes and things. Huge plus!!

The dollar general in Dover plains ny should really be shut down. The food there is disgusting it sits out and goes bad. I bought a big jar of pickles there gooey and moody not even a crunch. They taste horrible. The people who work there ther attitudes are brutal they are so not friendly they never stock anything and when they do the food sits and sits before they put it out. This isn’t the first time I bought old food there. And they do not care to help anyone their attitudes suck. I contacted the state and I’m also contacting the better business bureau something NEEDS TO BE DONE!!!

Boxes of merchandise constantly blocking aisles- but you can go around to get what you need in a pinch. Decent section of food for those who can't get to a grocery store. Flickering ceiling light in the juice/cereal aisle is enough to give someone a seizure. Self check out is great to have.

The store is basically ok. It would help if it were organized a little better. I can see that the people who work there do there very best to keep the place clean. At the busiest times of the day it would help to have two people on the registers.

Worst Dollar General I've ever shopped in. Have gone in multiple times, to give it a chance, but never again. Out of stock on anything you need (pre- and post-Covid), and the worst check out system I've ever seen. Huge lines to check out with multiple employees in the store. Horribly managed, stay away, go to the one in Amenia.

On one hand, Dover Plains NEEDS this store for affordable basics. They do have a little bit of everything and prices are WAY more affordable than CVS. Employees are mostly friendly and helpful.On the other hand, I’ve never seen the store stocked/clean. The entire back walls/aisles are a mess of crates and boxes. It’s also extremely unsettling in 2020 to have a female employee talking loud enough to hear on the opposite side of the store, coughing dozens of times...only to find her NOT WEARING A MASK. Yikes, honey. I haven’t let a cough out in a retail establishment since February!

The first couple of times that I went to the store it looked like it still wasn’t fully stocked and some of the staff were cranky. There was one woman in particular who looked like she was sucking on a lemon the whole time and wasn’t pleasant with customers. I’ve been there 6 or so times now and the last 2 times it’s been better. Either the sour lady isn’t employed there any longer or I’m just lucky not to catch her shifts. It’s clean and better stocked now. Prices vary depending on what you get. Some good buys can be had if you coupon.

My Dad blew it off as just being new, but I LOVED this particular store! It was really big and stocked with all types of awesome stuff that you can't tend to find in many businesses with "dollar" in their name. We got my niece a REDHEAD Barbie for $6-7, and I gambled on my first charge stick for $6 and it says it's warrantied for a YEAR! 🤩

New product not on shelves, but are on numerous delivery carts which are sitting idle and blocking almost every aisle. It should be noted that this is a fire hazard & unsafe.

It's a sad commentary on this local store when they limit the number of containers of milk one buys because they have to deal with people always asking questions as to why there's no milk. Sorry, my money is just as good as the next customer.

Surprisingly big. One of the biggest and cleanest I have ever visited. They have everything. A mini Walmart. Manager very nice and helpful.

I have come here several times lately and they were closed in the middle of the day. I understand that you have to stock.. but closing during business hrs . Come on now..

I went in to this place dollar general one week ago and I was falsely accused of being kicked out when I had my wife beside me they have also been talking behind my back The management is poorly run the regional manager can not apologize in anyway whatsoever because I have panic disorder how did disability they are discriminating against me discrimination is against the law and will not be tolerated I am asking anybody do you consider boycotting the store on the basis of what I just said discriminating against somebody who has panic disorder he’s totally unjustified and you wanna hear something funny the regional manager cannot apologize for his mistakes and the store manager cannot apologize for her mistakes so I am asking you to boycott the store

Store is messy and has an oder to it. Every time I go in there is only 1 register open and a long line. It's like no one is working or wants to work.

They need to get the stock out of the aisles so people can shop cannot get at products if the carts are blocking the product seems to be an ongoing issue they can't resolve.
