We got the NY Sharp Cheddar, Danish Havarti Dill & Baby Swiss. All were absolutely delicious highly recommend!Update: we stopped back by the following day to try more of their cheese. I can't rave enough about this place!

Wow where do I begin. What a terrific place. The history on display is only eclipsed by the Owner Jane Currie. Jane took the time to give me a verbal tour of the many books on display that she co-authored. The cheese...WOW! A very nice variety of domestic and English cheese. I recommend the English Smoked Chedder and the Smoked Swiss. I could go on and on about Jane and the shop, but I don't want to get to...cheesy. (sorry 😉)

THE BEST CHEESE YOU WILL EVER HAVE! A great variety of cheeses to choose from that are all unique and amazing. Jane does a stellar job sourcing her cheeses from the highest quality farms and is always great at suggesting new cheeses to try. Once you have cheese from here you will never look at grocery store cheese the same way again - I truly never knew cheese could taste so good. Our favorites are the mango ginger (sounds weird, but SO good), smoked Swiss, or classic havarti but you can’t go wrong. Whatever you do, you MUST stop here!

Great cheeses and gifts at great prices! I always stop here during my time at Chautauqua lake, the owner always great you with a smile, samples of anything you may like and a great story about the history of the place. In addition to cheeses they also host a small array of locally made pickled items and relish in addition to gifts and books about the area.

This is a must stop. There was this wonderful woman who took her time and let us sample many cheese. She was very knowledgeable in all the cheeses. We got 8 different types of cheese., from smoked Swiss to havarti to drunk goat cheese(wine infused) they have been in business for 97years! I cannot recommend this enough!

The top place to get your cheese. It's a small, independent, woman operated/owned local business, which I like to always support. The cheeses are better than the vast majority of what you can purchase from the grocery. I don't think that grocery stores can match Jane's prices, all things equal in terms of quality. I purchase just about all of my cheese from Cadwell's Cheese House, except parmesan which I use to make pesto. Before Columbus Day, I buy my winter supply that is vacuum sealed and remains fresh clear until she opens again in the spring. You will do well for yourself and the local Chautauqua County economy if you buy your cheese from Jane.

Great cheeses, the staff was super friendly and helpful. I was able to have a few samples and learn a bit about each one. Don't confused this place with a boring deli shop. It's way better and more personal.

Love it. Clean, very responsible re: COVID. Their cheese is so very good. We drove from the Finger Lakes for the havarti with caraway. We have tried but never found cheese as good Cadwell.
