Small operation with good brews in various styles. Does flights and has food trucks .Seems a little out of the way but is actually quite accessible via main roads. I was told the owner is a female veteran embarking on a new adventure. Tasty beer and worthy of your visit.

Super nice people. Great beer. There was a live band that was really good, they play a large variety of music. We camped there for the night and it was very safe and quiet. I would definitely recommend this place.

Enjoyable and comfortable atmosphere located in a reclaimed barn. Can't wait for summer time and outside seating as this location has a tremendous view. Hoppy wheat beer was nice clean and crisp tasting. Amazing take on wheat beers. Plans of having live local music make this a destination that I will certainly return to. Owner/Operator, Brenda was exceptionally pleasant and knowledgeable about the beers she offers.

It was our first time in Esperance and we had time to kill so we stopped in for a beer. Vinny served us, super friendly and helped us decide which beer we wanted. We took our beers outside and stayed for 2 hours talking it up with locals, everyone was super nice and the jalapeño beer was sooooo good we ended up taking some home. We will Definitely be back.

Excellently crafted beer. I was particularly fond of the Blankety Blanc, a modern take on wheat beer with notes of white wine. Unique with lots of complex flavors. Also of note is the British brown ale and the session IPA. Brenda, the owner, Klaus the brewer, Peter and the rest of the staff were awesome. Place has a relaxed vibe to it. A really nice place to have a beer and some conversation. Worth the trip to Duanesburgh. Give Back Barn a try.

An absolutely outstanding beer selection matched with an even better, relaxed, always cordial brewery atmosphere! Brenda and her staff always make our visits a rewarding experience, and the friendliness of their patrons is second to none. Best of all, the beers are the best in the area!!! If you haven't visited this gem, you're truly missing out.

The beer is good (the jalapeno one is such a fun change from IPAs) but could use a few more offerings as capacity grows. The ambiance is a work-in-progress (I hope). The building itself is great, but the outdoor seating is apparently just an after thought. There's no character with piles of old lumber (is THAT the Back Barn?), and, through no fault of theirs) Route 20 is tremendously noisy- nothing but pick-up trucks driving up the hill at full gas (I rode my bicycle out. I slow down on hills. Why don't automobiles? That's bad physics.)

A nice selection of their own craft beer, from malty to hoppy. Friendly owner and staff person working the bar. Good size bar that probably seats a dozen and tables and chairs that probably seat another several dozen. Relaxed, friendly country atmosphere. The crowd was completely mixed, from millennials to gray boomers. We went on a Friday night and there was a nice two-piece music act doing rock hits from the eighties on (not loud - you could carry on a conversation - yay!). No on-premises food other than snacks. They were supposed to have a food truck but it broke down on the way there. Lastly, the porters and stouts could use a little more mouthfeel - I'd increase the grain bill when brewing them.

Great tasting beer. Excellent atmosphere and conversation. Interior is very pleasing to the eye with open beams and natural wood accents. Staff very willing to answer inquiries about the beer and what is up amd coming.

The 5 bees is really good. However, my less than stellar review comes from the service aspect. Upon waking in, I was definitely the youngest by 10+ years and received service that I felt singled me out. "Is this all you want?" is not the kind of question I expect to be asked at an establishment. I also felt uneasy by the looks my way while wearing my rainbow wristbands and unicorn mask. Maybe it was not a good day, but it was kind of off-putting seeing as how it was my first visit.

Small tap room, but friendly staff. About 7 beers on tap when we visited. All brewed on premises. The nitro stout was outstanding. Worth the trip for that beer alone though the others are good too.
