What an awesome used and rare book store!It's definitely the coolest I've been to. The three floors of books are well organized by category and easy to browse. Lots of much older books and fewer new books. Neat old barn building! A little dusty for the folks with allergies like myself (but not moldy!) Will definitely be back.

Having purchased books from Doug for at least 40 years, he is a remarkable dealer. He knows books inside and out and offers them at incredibly great prices. The barn is constantly full of great titles and the third floor books are usually a dollar or less. It's a great adventure to go there. There is always bound to be something really exceptional. The best bookshop in the state in my opinion.

I love these type of old barn book stores. A lot of local and rare volumes, also an extensive area on third floor for inexpensive reads. I picked up some excellent texts at a reasonable price. I will be back for sure.

A hidden treasure of central new york! This bookstore had a huge collection. Great vintage collection of books. Went home with a rather large stack but spent only $20!

The Berry Hill Book Shop has incredible prices and a massive selection which makes it easy to lose a few hours shopping. This is a three-level barn converted into a shop. Don't be afraid of the dust (or heat in the summertime). You're going to find great stuff in great condition. There are sections for Dance, Film, Radio, various Wars, Art, etc. and the top floor is fiction, including lots of vintage books with dust jackets. Doug runs the bookshop and he's a somewhat shy but kind and affable man. He knows a lot about old movies, so it isn't surprising that he also sells lobby cards, movie posters and sheet music.

Visiting CNY for fist time in 16 years, had to stop by since I remember it from when I lived in Utica-Rome area. Tremendous number of great books at great prices. Spent 2 1/2 hrs could have made it 4 easily. Shops like this are getting very hard to find anymore, stop by and support this fabulous book shop. It is designed to let you shop, browse and leave several pounds heavier (in books that is).

Berry Hill Book Shop is quite an amazing place. They have many variety of books on almost every topic. It's a wonderful place to visit and browse for interesting and unique books. Nice place to go visit with family when your out looking for fun places to go when your out enjoying a country ride.

Is a great store with lots of books to look through and friendly people. I am going to give it a one-star though because it is so dangerous to walk through. You have to be someone in good shape to get through here. No cane or Walker or even a limp. God forbid you might have progressive lenses! It's really cobbled up and the stairs are not safe. I'm not even sure if the floors are safe. Easy to bump your head also. Stay away.

Always great customer service. Sometimes hard to find something specific, but a great visit if you are a book lover. Usually spend at least two hours looking at the selection. Great prices. Only downside is there’s no bathroom, so I can’t look as long. Does take credit cards now!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this bookstore...My husband took me to his hometown of Oneida, NY shortly after we got married and he wanted to show me Berry Hill Book Barn. OH MY GOSH...I loved it! We left with about 20 bags of books...so many cool old books too. I have been wanting to go back ever since and can't wait till we do. I had heard they might have closed, and that broke my heart, so I hope that info is wrong. I would love to own that whole barn full of books!

I was surprised when I heard this bookstore existed, and now it's a staple. I go there periodically to buy antique cookbooks, used copies off books I have been meaning to read and to pet the friendly barn cat! The selection varies and there isn't a guarantee that you will find exactly what you are looking for, but it's fun to wander around and explore!

Berry Hill Book Shop is very much alive and well. Rose has been totally misinformed about it closing! We shopped there just recently and it was as good as ever. The owners are pleasant and knowledgeable.Get there early and be prepared to stay a while because there is a lot to look at. Think about bringing large tote bag with shoulder strap to ferry books down stairs to the check out table. At first glance the barn doesn't look like much but it is full of books. I shop for out-of-print books online and some of these books are not online anywhere. Prices are very reasonable especially when they have their annual sale in July.
