In pre-Covid days in the summer i often came for the takeout and to sit under their tent. Usually had by a very tasty seafood sandwich. Returned this Sunday and sat with my daughter in their very clean and comfortable indoor sitting area. Order at the counter where menu is posted as well as a blackboard of specials. We ordered the fried calamari and seafood risotto.The calamari was exceptional and truly the best I’ve ever had. The seafood risotto was not what a risotto is. It was not creamy and with two clams three mussels two thinly sliced pieces of chorizo and three shrimp placed on top. Go to an Italian or Spanish restaurant for a better creation with more Mediterranean flavor. I will come back for the calamari. They have in a can local wine. Pinot grigio was really good.Service is good but wish they had given us a small receptacle for the shellfish.December 2023The above was their restaurant. For our Christmas Eve Italian dinner we bought several seafood to make Cioppino plus fish broth from their Market. It was very fresh and made a delicious dinner. See photo. Five star for fish market and four star for restaurant.For New Years we purchased the freshest salmon and made a simple recipe using butter anchovies and capers. Another beautiful dinner.March 2025. Took my daughter and her husband here. They live in Midwest and don’t get fresh fish like we do. In the small intimate dining area we had fried calamari, mussels (plump juicy and the best we had this season compared to other restaurants) and great French fries. Only We wished they served toasted bread with the mussels. The juice was so flavorful. Will ask the next visit. Which should be soon.

Nice people, cute clean atmosphere, good beer. The fries were practically perfect: nice and hot, crispy outside and delicious. The lobster roll was yummy with chunky lobster meat(& lots of it), it does have garlic on it which was different for me but some lemon squeezed over it helped cut the garlic.

Staying in town for a vacation and picked up quality seafood to grill at home and have eaten here twice already with the lobster rolls and flounder sandwich. Very big portion sizes. Accommodated my two year old with a grilled cheese. Comfortable seating both inside and out.

I’d give it less if I could. Usually I go to Southold Fish Market. A friend suggested Braun’s. I bought 6 cooked shrimp and a half dozen stuffed clams. Both inedible! The shrimp was gummy. The clams mushy. I basically threw my $22 in the trash! What a waste. Will not be going back there. See you next time Charlie.

There are two stores here, one a fish market and the other, a sea food resturant and they are connected. The resturant was closed on Monday but the staff in the fish market let us walk in to take a look. Huge selection of fresh and frozen seafood.

This used to be one of my go-to places for the best seafood reasonably prices and well prepared; but on my last visit the food was all pre-cooked and not fresh. It took just minutes to prepare my order, not good.

Very nice staff and atmosphere. I ordered a hot lobster roll to go and got home and it was fried lobster roll. I don't understand if it was a mix-up or if this is their version of hot lobster rolls.What I learned is not everything tastes better fried. Was inedible and threw out a very expensive lunch.

We have been getting takeout lobster here for years for our family lobster night. Always great. We ordered take seafood from the kitchen recently and it was absolutely awful. Fried shrimp and flounder was soggy. They left out a meal. The fish tacos had one little piece of blackened fish jerky in it. Beware taco salad has no meat and is made with spinach. I really hope they get their act together because I want to like this place.

Just picked up lobster salad and a seafood pot pie. Totally delicious and worth it! Super pleasant counter help, always fresh fish, and just a terrific place to grab a bite to stay or go with the seafood “shack” (so cute) next door. Plus, good luck to Black Sheep Bagels and coffee across the parking lot.

The food was really good! You can eat in or take out! We did take out, as we live in the area. Fried calamari was excellent, as was the plan searedscallops with mushroom risotto & the salmon! Very, very good!

2 weeks ago we ordered lunch & a side of honey butter infused cornbread (2pcs for $6) well cornbread was so good we decided to come back for lunch and order 4 sides cornbread for dinner at a friends house. Upon walking out we realized the bag was very light. Went back in and questioned it. Well they proceeded to tell us that the portion size was to big so they changed it to 1pc of course for the same price of $6! we were charged $24 for 4 pieces of cornbread. To try to compensate she gave us an additional order with 2 tiny containers of butter no charge. When it was served we realized it was not infused with honey butter just a drizzle on top. It was so dry it got stuck in our throats. No one ate it. We actually came home with it. We will try to doctor it up just not to waste it. We understand that things are costing more, we pay the higher prices and we leave very generous tips. But this was an out right a rip off! Very disappointed. *FYI their taco salad ($14.95) consisted of a mixture of lettuce a handful of black beans a few kernels of corn and thin slices of red onion. Didn't taste or look anything like a taco salad. Will not be going there again!!

Very fresh. Stuffed flounder had a bit too much lemon for me. Fried calamari, excellent. Clam chowder, delicious. The tomatoes in the lobster roll was a bit odd. But ordering to go for 10 people they handled it correctly and ready in 40 minutes.

Best fresh seafood on the planet. Delightful little snack bar on the side.Edit 2023: They've renovated and changed the menu. Maybe they think it appeals to a different clientele than before, but I will buy their fresh fish and go elsewhere for a bite to eat.

Really wonderful, fresh food made to order. We had the shrimp, raspberry peach wrap and the fish cakes to go. Great value and we can back later that day to pick up some peeled fresh shrimp to eat on the beach for supper! Highly recommended.

As much as I was impressed with Braun Seafood's service and quality of product last year when I tried them for the first time, I was in for a huge disappointment this time around. In 2011 the week following Father's Day weekend I ordered 5 dozen of fresh oysters to be delivered to my house in Westchester. Braun Seafood did a marvelous job. Oysters were packaged separately, they shipped just half shells to keep the shipping costs down, gave a bunch of lemons and 2 large containers of sauce, protecting everything nicely with cool packs in a sturdy Styrofoam box. The oysters were supple, fresh, and clean - simply perfect! This year I had another chance to stop by Braun Seafood and ordered once again 5 dozen oysters for my mother's birthday. But this year for whatever reason what I saw when opening the box had little resemblance of last year's delight. The oysters were small as they all fit in just one container but I understand that not every season will yield same size oysters. That was not my issue. The issue was that the oysters were shucked very poorly. Shells were cracked with, half of the oysters were torn into pieces (out of 60 I was able to "put together" only 34). We ended up just baking them because they didn't even look palatable. On the upside, the manager handled my complaint very professionally and refunded me for the oysters and shipping. I really want to like this place as much as I did the first time around but I just don't want to deal with unreliable service.

Terrible experience there today. Ordered a couple dishes. Was told 25 min wait. Two hours later they were finally ready. Over cooked almost inedible. Given that it was Mother’s Day and in the midst of a pandemic but when you tell me 25 mins and I am patient enough to wait 2 hours then you don’t even offer to reduce the price shows they really don’t care. Then to finally take a bite and have to chew the shrimp for over a minute. Not good. Won’t be back.

We made our first visit to Brauns after seeing their feature on News 12 East End. They have 2 areas, one that acts as a restaurant (no table side service)and one as a seafood sure where you can get fresh seafood.We first day in the restaurant. We ordered the the lobster roll and the lobster taco which were both amazing.We then went into the fish store where they have an amazing selection of fresh fish, great lobster specials and frozen seafood as well. I ordered a beautiful weakfish and red snapper which was fileted and porgy too. All the fish was truly amazing, fresh and delicious!We will definitely be back!!!!
