We have been bringing our 2 shih tzus to Dr. Maynard for about 6 years now. They handle everything for us. They even Handle all of our grooming needs. Recently we had an emergency visit as our Benjamin was having problems walking, we believe due to multiple bouts with Lymes disease. He could barely walk and it came on out of nowhere, They saw him and offered a treatment plan after a full review including x-rays. Our little guy is showing early signs of improvement and we are hopeful for a full recovery. This morning the doc called to follow up on Benjamin's progress. I was shocked my own doctor never called to follow up with me. If you want to put the care of your pet and family member with the best care possible then you want to go to Cross River animal hospital. They ALL love what they do and it shows. God bless them all. we would never trust anyone else.

I have been looking to get my dog's teeth cleaned, and I am so glad that I found Cross River Animal Hospital via a recommendation. This is one of very few locations in the area that does non-anesthetic dental cleaning, and they did a really great job for my dog. The staff was very warm and welcoming towards me and my dog. I would highly recommend this animal hospital and know that we will be back!

We are new customers to Cross River Animal Hospital and were concerned at first bringing our pup to a new place (for daycare) since she is rather shy around new people. Everyone at Cross River is friendly and they took great care. Sasha warmed up to the staff and really enjoys her stay here! We got to tour the facility and it was clean, organized, and plenty of outdoor space for the dogs to run around. They group like-size dogs together for playtime which is perfect for our pup. We'll be bringing Sasha around more! Attached is a pic for the dog tax.

HereThere are no words to say how wonderful this place is, There are no words to say how Allison Jeffrey Kate With the animals and with the clients I see the way they are they talk to them they get to know them And they also get to know the clients and the return clients and their pets I see how the pets are they know exactly where they're going and who they're gonna be with .A beautiful touching place it feels like home the way they treat them and the doctor I have to say he has compassion understanding and he also is very straight up telling you if there's a problem with your pets And one thing I notice about him if there's something he doesn't understand I notice he does research and he checks and makes sure in double checks the same thing with Kate. kate is very compassionate with the dogs, she concentrates with the grooming and everything she is so level-headed when it comes to things like that. Allison is amazing the way she has compassion to everyone and the pets she has contact with.Jeffrey the same thing he has a beautifulheart. Truly There are no words to really say anymore to this except that I have to say it's a clean beautiful caring a wonderful place and I hope that it continues on for another 40 years

Dr Mayland is a true animal lover, and he is careful not to over prescribe antibiotics and neurotoxins unless absolutely necessary. He regularly attends conferences to stay up on the latest vet practices and discoveries. He takes the time to discuss issues by phone and is dedicated to his work and his team, and vice versa. I've also boarded my dog there and they seem to do a good job. I highly recommend him to care for both dogs and cats.

As new pet owners to 2 new kittens the staff and Dr. Mayland couldn't be better. They have been able to answer all my questions and offer lots of great advice and support. The Dr. called us to check up on the kittens after our first visit and was so kind and caring.

I love this place and the people! Even though I moved, I will continue to bring them my dog. Domino for care. In fact, I owe Domino still being with me to them:While he was with my daughter in South Carolina, he got out of the house. A neighbor found him and called Cross River. who's number was on his vaccination tag, Cross River called my Cell, and we were able to sort this all out and reunite him with my daughter. Thanks !!

This was our 1st visit to Cross River Animal Hospital, as my regular vet was booked and couldn't see my cat, who I suspected had a urinary blockage, for a Saturday morning emergency.I found Dr. Mayland to be very concerned, personable, knowledgeable, compassionate, and patient, spending the time to talk with me outside, explaining Waffles situation and the necessary treatment. When I was expecting a basic exam, I learned that the doctor did a catheterization to flush out as many of the urinary crystals causing the blockage.I was given antibiotics and special food to give the cat and was told to monitor him. Dr. Mayland called me twice the next day, which was a Sunday (when he had company) to see how Waffles was doing. He told me to bring him in the next day so a nurse could feel his bladder to ascertain his current condition. The next day when they brought the cat back out to me, I was told the doctor was there and did another catheterization. It was then recommended to me that the cat be hospitalized for a few days so the treatment could continue. Dr. Mayland made sure that Waffles care was first and foremost. He even came in on his day off to tend to the cat.Having had cats 51 of my 58 years, I have never seen a vet take such initiative in a plan of care. Dr. Mayland made me feel my cat was his most important patient, and that he was going to do what would benefit Waffles most, because letting an animal suffer is never an option.I highly recommend this practice. From the bottom of my heart I thank this kind and compassionate vet for going over and above in taking such excellent care of my sweet cat. His actions have spoken louder than words.His staff is lovely. Kind receptionists who called to check up on Waffles, and gentle nurses who lovingly assist in calming nervous pets. The office is very clean, nicely situated outside, and is easily accessible on Rt. 35 with plenty of parking.

We had a great experience at Cross River Animal Hospital. While traveling from VT we noticed our puppy started to have a terrible cough. Chung got us in very very last minute as a new patient, and helped us get our records from our out of state vet in a fast manner. Dr. M was very efficient and knowledgeable, and we felt very confident in his diagnosis. The vet techs were sweet and helpful. Definitely recommend!

Dr. Mayland and his staff at Cross River Animal Hospital provide the best veterinary service we've ever received.Dr. Mayland is fantastic, very knowledgeable and experienced. We've never had a vet as compassionate and invested in the care of our cats, nor as honest and approachable when discussing their health. One of our cats has a difficult chronic illness, and we greatly appreciate that Dr Mayland has always approached it with an eye not just at treatment but at providing the best possible quality of life.Likewise the rest of the staff are always friendly and kind and professional.Scheduling is always easy, we've never had to wait more than 1-3 days for an appointment.They also provide a low-cost boarding service. We've used it a couple times to look after our cat and have been very happy with it.

The staff is always very helpful and pleasant! Dr. got my dog Ollie on a great diet that cured his stomach and bowel issues, he quickly gained back the weight that he had lost. Now he’s doing wonderfully! I also take Ollie monthly for various grooming. He’s a nervous dog, and they take the extra time with him. Highly recommend!

I cannot say enough good things about everyone at Cross River Animal Hospital! I have an approximately 12 year old rescue cat who was very sick with an eye abscess. Dr. Mayland was so wonderful getting to the bottom of the cause and creating a plan to get him better. His staff is incredible, too. I'll echo all of the positive comments about Cross River Animal Hospital. Our little guy has special needs because he has had multiple back surgeries. He gets the care he needs here. Our dog loves the place so much he actually gets excited when we pull in to the parking lot. They are great for boarding pets too.

We had a startling emergency situation with our cat & were on the way to an emergency care facility when we drove past Cross River & took a chance that they could fit us in. Unlike some vets who advertise emergency access open to all Cross River provided that to us. They took her in immediately for observation & initial treatment, we were kept informed by the staff & Dr day of as well as many follow up conversations. That kind of dialogue is invaluable! The attention of Dr Mayland & his whole practice to treat what is happening but also dig deeper than usual & find out why is really comforting & the “whole-istic” approach really works~ diet change, a desire to not over prescribe & over medicate , a seemingly very real interest in exploring different points of view & really meaningful conversations ongoing between us, Dr Mayland & his staff have lead to quality of life being restored for our dear cat ( & us in off the ledge!) & a trusting ongoing relationship with Cross River Animal Hospital.Kate, the tech has also been spectacular, a super professional, reassuring & very kind beacon for us during this tough time too! Chung in the front office also so reassuring & comforting & so pleasant! My yorkshire terrier needed a tooth removal. Cross River Animal Hospital and Dr. Mayland always consider the safety and necessity of surgery, only wanting to perform surgery if they know 1) the dog really needs it and 2) it will be safe for the dog. They truly care about your pet. Yoshi went under surgery and it was a success. CRAH takes the best care of my little boy, and always have. Thank you so much Dr. Mayland.
