No selection, high prices, poor quality, and dilapidated infrastructure. Tops has built a business out of buying up dying mom and pop groceries and sucking any remaining lifeblood from them. I’ll stick with Hannaford or Price Chopper

Everytime i have gone to this store the staff has been so kind. It makes you feel like you are part of the community. Prices are good and produce was fresh! I would recommend this store!

As it is the only large grocery store in Coxsackie, a lot of people choose to only go here for their shopping. Prices are high and selection could use a big upgrade. Thankful for some of the employees who are really kind and pleasant to check out with.

Update 2023: it’s not how it used to be, back in the day a dude named Shawn pretty much ran that place on his own, was there nightly to clean the floors and people actually worked properly it seems compared to just what it has been kinda stuck in.Like many small town places , if you work here don’t be surprised if an one of the managers like Savannah asks you to break company policy (and state tax regulations on items marked “charity” being taken home for use of theirs) by giving them all the product marked for destruction or charity, and you being stuck between a choice of your likelihood of being on the wrong side of her, or doing it and still being in a worse spot both morally and reputably .If you happen to think of getting baked goods, check first if there are even dates of expiration on them because they have a recent habit (bakery lady Jess) of not putting dates on items and god forbid that be important on her “busy” schedule.Best of luck to the place but until it’s really got new upper management that has life in them and ambition to get the young workers either doing what they are paid to do, or fire them and get new ones trained one by one.Instead, it now will unfortunately falter due to laziness of those who are supposed to be dependable .Old: Friendly Staff , a decent selection of items and some pretty good prices as well as coupons and discounts that are essential to saving around 10-20 percent on your overall bill.Tops is the best choice for finding a friendly, convenient and clean place to do some grocery shopping.

The produce is always old, rotten or moldy,, It isn’t the fault of the staff that they are being told by management to keep selling old food. Basically, a small town store that is not worth shopping in. Prices are ridiculous and food is old. Their solution to old food is to put it “on sale”

Definitely need more training for registers the lines take forever and there's no self checkout so for a few items you're stuck in line for 20 minutes sometimes longer depending on how busy and crowded they are .. pricing is definitely good they always have deals especially their meat packs and everything is fresh

It was our first visit to Tops supermarkets and our impression was fine. The decor is bright, clean and wide-spaced. The overall environment is well-maintained.The fruit and veggies look pretty fresh and delicious with reasonable price and a great variety. We also love their pastries and bought a box of sweet rolls & chocolate muffins.

Convenience cost when you don't have much choice. The store is dated but they keep up with cleaning. Nice selection of produce and other items I would recommend only for odds stuff that you need when making a specific dish because the total price can climb very fast for just a few items.

Absolutely love this store....Many Many times the meats and other items beat the bigger chains price....but mostly it's the hometown convenience that I appreciate. Great prices...Great Service...and just down the road... No 20 minute trips North or South to get last minute items.. great deals every day at Tops...some days are like Xmass.....Thank you for being a big part of our communities and for the commitment to Quality and Service that your Team Provides..... Keep up the good work.

Small market that has decent specials but not as good as the competition. General prices are either average or above. Example: the deli American cheese was $7.99/lb and I typically pay a few dollars less per lb. Meat quality is good. Produce quality is so-so. The store is neat and clean and good for picking up a few last minute items without trekking to a larger market that has better selections and prices. I occasionally have issues with incorrectly scanned items or cashier errors which seems like the norm for them since they're never surprised or too apologetic when you have to go back to question the receipt.

Customer service is horrific. Very uneducated people working there. The produce is never fresh, very limited with brands, dirty floors, female cashiers are argumentative because they have to bag your groceries, bottle return area is never working and dirty. Time to close the doors and open up a modern supermarket.

It was raining out and they were getting the does fixed and they man had us wait. They specials look like they are good but if you do the math, your paying normal price. They do have some speciality items.

Some of their prices are excessive. I just paid $9 for a lb of bacon! I needed it but feel that is convience store price not local "super"market price and boy I hated paying it. No bakery and frozen bakery items are very limited, so never purchase any bakery items there. They have good fried chicken but will sell it even if its been under the heat lamps all day and dried up, making it unediable. Sometimes its hard to tell what your getting until you take a bite out of it ~ I have been fooled a time or two. Deli is decent as is produce. Meat section is good. Decent cuts and sale prices are comporable. Bottle center is annoying! They don't even turn on mechinen until customer asks. How is that good customer service? If bottle mechine is turned on, it is beeping. Meaning it is full. Again, customers need to let them know. They need a diffrent mindset totally about their bottle machines.Definitely room for improvement but glad Tops is there so I don't have to drive to Catskill for "quick" trips for dinner etc.

Unless your last name is Rockefeller and you really are related, ... You may want to try price chopper first.I will never for the life of me, be able to figure out why the prices are so damn high at tops.The food is not of better quality than any other grocery store.

Prices too high. Always out of sale items. Always told the truck is coming tomorrow or the truck never came. Really!! Then how come the sale items aren’t available the whole week of sale. In fact one week there wasn’t any fresh vegetables the whole week. The the next week the item that was on sale is now available but not on sale anymore.

Absolutely hate this place i am never this negative of person however i stood there patiently waiting for deli i was the only person there. The lady in the deli seen me as i waited i asked can i get some deli completely ignored . Asked again nothing went about doing whatever else while i waited a good 10 minutes nothing told a man/manager what does it take to get help here? IGNORED. Not ever going back to this tops

This our little small-town supermarket. We love it, they have just about everything you could need without having to go all the way to Catskill. Not the cheapest prices on earth, but hey...it's not Wal-Mart, and I'm glad it isn't!

It is the only supermarket in town that we could find when visiting my kid at camp. They had what we needed so we were happy. Be sure to have the store card for advertised discounts at least ask cashier to use theirs.

Tops on how a a great local store. Not always the cheapest, but great sales and great quality. Staff is courteous and helpful. No comparison to big chain types.
