Very welcoming and kind. Our first visit here was an unfortunate one as our dog had been hit and did not make it. They were so gentle and sympathetic. They spoke quietly and easy but very informative. They did not treat us like it was "just a dog", they knew he was our family. They also have a very beautiful system for cremating your animal as that is what we chose to do.We will now take all our animals here for routine check ups and visits.Thank you so much for taking wonderful care of my sweet Rusty!!!

Hands-down vet of choice for anyone in the area. The staff is helpful, friendly, and you can tell that they love their furry patients. I've trusted the team with routine care, surgeries, and everything in between. This is the top-notch local veterinary care you're looking for.

We have been taking our companion animals to New Baltimore for over a decade.Dr.Knee and Dr.Perkins are wonderfully compassionate and knowledgeable veterinarians. If not for Dr.Perkins I believe we would not still have our beloved Maggie with us. l have an update to share. Our sweet, loving Maggie recently went over the rainbow bridge. Dr. William Perkins who treated Maggie over the years with insight and compassion was there to see that her passing was done in the same gentle, compassionate manner.I cannot say enough good things about Dr.Perkins or the staff at New Baltimore. They understood our grief and allowed us to mourn Maggie.Dr.Perkins is an exceptional Vet . The rest of the staff is also. They gave us many great years and memories with our Maggie.

Staff is very gentle and caring with the pets. Offered a picture of a product they don't carry for our dogs teeth.

I cannot stress enough if you go here to make sure that you find out the cost of what they are doing before they bombard you with a huge bill. We took our sick cat here. Very healthy up to this point. Just over a year old to be exact - up to date on her shots, indoor cat and also spayed. This new vet DR Carrie (maybe that is not the correct spelling for him) whom we have never seen before this took us in, he heard only part of what I had to say that could possibly be the issue and ran all these tests that he did not discuss the price with me prior to doing, came back with little to no answers and then went on at check out after questioning this bill to say we’ll bring her back for a re-check and we may possibly need to do surgery! Surgery? For what??? He responded with it would be exploratory… Ok so we have almost $800 bill at this point -no take home medication and no answers. Next morning I rush her back down wait for the vet to open to be seen again. I am told my cat looks like she has a very RARE disease FIP… we just put our senior cat down a couple months ago. I am not ok with this answer I ask why did this vet yesterday run all the tests he did, when this vet says I don’t want to do further testing until we have this $200 bloodwork back, I just paid $140 yesterday for bloodwork. Oh this is different though. Are you kidding me??? I have still not heard from this vet office on the results of this test. I asked in the meantime to treat her for an infection. Guess what? My sick dying of an incurable illness is on the mend and you know what this vet office did not even care to contact us with those results that likely confirmed our cat was indeed very healthy and the cause of this commotion with her was literally that she had something stuck in her throat that she has thankfully thrown up. A concern I had the first day coming in and this man performed not one test to see if that was the problem. I am done, we have gave this vet office our business for years, as a child with my family and as an adult with my own fur babies. It’s absolutely disgusting that in this world where people can just barely get by as it is that these people take food out of the mouths of your household to give you no answers, and no true compassion. I am out close to $1000 from this vet office and I am furious bc the answers given to me I could have quite literally had to choose to put my cat down due to the inability to continue to pay for all these “exploratory” tests they kept pushing. Thank you for nothing but another bill we could not afford, I hope when your paychecks come in you are proud knowing that you received it off the backs of struggling families just trying to make sure their fur babies are ok. More importantly though, I hope you learn from this that people are due the courtesy of knowing what to expect before you just decide to rip open their wallets before asking if it is something they can afford to do and also not shaming them if it is not.

Love the caring and concern they have shown to my cat and told and explained everything that they were doing to him and told the results from tests very throughly

Wow......been using this place for more than 10 years and drive an hour to get there. Call and I'm told that their next appointment is mid August. Time to find someone local, I guess. Used to think they were a caring bunch of people, but apparently there have been some changes.....

They are not holding up to their reputation. It cost me over $1,000 my dogs are still with very bad ear infection really bad. I was told that there's no such thing as mites and I see them in my dog's ears. I purchased over the counter ear medicine and that's the best thing that works right now? All the medicine they gave me help them for the evening but again the next day.? They gave me a 3 oz medicine and told me to drop eight drops twice a day in my Australian shepherds ears?? I brought samples of the stuff in his ears and she threw them in the trash? $25 to clean already clean ears then gave the dog the Lima shots having to go back 2 weeks later and she told me no cost for a second shot they charge me another $86 when I wasn't supposed to pay anything Granite it was a new vet, but she had been there for months? I was very spoiled with Dr Perkins, I miss him a lot but I asked for a different doctor my name that has worked on Murphy and to my surprise I think her name was Dr Furman, it is not her fault she needs to be updated that's all? Good luck and check the prices

We went for our appointment Thursday and saw Stuart Stiffey. I feel we barely got anywhere with our visit. And it is now Monday and I’m still waiting for a call from a vet tech to schedule a sedation and X-ray for my dog. $282 later and still no real answers and not to mention adding on bloodwork that was not necessary. He kept stating my dog was overweight when clearly he knows nothing about this breed. He is 60 lbs which is a healthy weight for his size.

We started bringing my dog there a few years ago and it was really good and a lot cheaper than other places we’ve been to. A couple years ago when the time came and we had to put her down, they were very nice about it and understanding. A few weeks later they sent a card saying they were sorry for our loss and to feel better. Around 6-7 months later I got 2 kittens and brought them there for their shots and whatnot, brought the male back to be neutered, and they’re just really good to work with. Very friendly and knowledgeable.

We’ve been using this practice for about 6 years. We’ve seen several veterinarians and all have been great, but Dr. Perkins especially is excellent at assessing an animal and giving realistic options about the situation. We have unfortunately had to euthanize our 4 cats, one after an accident, 2 very close together. We had them all cremated, they come back in a lovely little box. The staff was gentle and sensitive. They all had chronic health issues, and the decision was ultimately ours, but we were also given realistic advice. We received sympathy cards signed by all the staff each time. The only not great experience was when I brought one in for euthanasia and it was so busy, there was nowhere to park. I really think these should be scheduled at quieter times. It’s such a stressful situation anyway and then you’re stressing about parking and entering a crowded room while you’re crying. We now have a dog, and he can be challenging, especially around other animals. They have let us come in the back door and seem to schedule him at quieter times. He’s had a variety of issues since we adopted him and the practice has been prompt with test results and thorough with explaining treatment. The wait time can be long at times, which can be rough with young kids in tow or a challenging animal. They are a very busy practice.

Back in December I had rushed my cat in due to an emergency. I had told them that she was dying…they couldn’t see her until 2 hours later due to there only being one vet who was in surgery. I was told to go to Latham but that was not an option because of how expensive it would’ve been. Two hours later I went back with my basically lifeless cat(she was unresponsive and her body temp was unreadable).I said just put her down, there’s no point anymore. Before I left they said the most insincere “sorry” I’ve ever heard. I still don’t understand how there was only one person qualified to check her out and he was busy…maybe find more people to prevent this in the future. I understand surgery is important and I’d never ask for him to leave and help me instead. But I was basically ignored and lost my pet in the meantime. I will never forget how frustrating that day was.

They were very understanding when we had to put our cat Annie to sleep. Having a cat for 16 yrs is hard and the Dr was very compassionate and understood how we felt. I would recommend this animal hosp for all your pets needs. Thank you to all the staff for being so supportive in our sad day

Took my dog there on a Sunday morning when he wouldn't get up. Even though they were super busy they took him in right away. He was diagnosed with Lyme disease and we were out of there in 2 hrs. They staff were very nice and understanding. Bill wasn't too bad either considering it was an emergency. Will definitely use them again if needed.

I have been taking my dogs to New Baltimore Animal Hospital in Coxsackie NY for over 10 years. The care has always been good for the most part. They have always been very expensive. In the past 1.5-2 years I have seen a real decline in the care as well as how they are treating customers.I had a appointment on 1/7/22 for my dog. When I arrived they had mistakenly made the appointment for 2/7/22. I had taken off of work for this appointment. Still I was told there was nothing they could do and truly acted like they didn’t care. I asked the front desk to have the office manager Diane Riley call me. On 1/10/22 I contacted the office manager Diane Riley who was great and tried to help. Diane told me that she was never made away of what happen and this was the first she had heard of it.I explained that this was the second issue I had. The first was I had dental cleanings for all three of my dogs which was very expensive. After I picked them up I noticed that the dogs exterior teeth was cleaned but the interior/backside of the teeth was still dirty covered in plaque. I called and was told that the dogs could not be put under anesthesia again so soon and to speak to the doctors on the next cleaning. That visit was a little over a year ago yet no one ever called me back after I reported it. So I did what I was told. I talked to the doctor this visit about it.So Diane Riley made a quick appointment for me today 1/13/22 to make up for their mistake on 1/7/22.I saw Doctor Steward Stiffey today. Diane Riley had made him aware of the appointment issue as well of what happen with the dental cleaning of all three of my dogs. I have never been treated so rudely or disrespectfully by anyone at NBAH or anyone else who claims to be a professional. Doctor Stiffey called me a liar and claimed I made both the appointment issue and the dental cleaning issues up. He went on to tell me I should find somewhere else to take my dogs. The guy was unbelievable!I asked for copies of my dogs records to bring to another Vet. Diane Riley was nice enough to get those for me as I waited in the waiting room. Diane also apologized for Doctor Stiffey’s behavior. Diane looked embarrassed by the way he acted.Again I had been taking my dogs there for over 10 years! What motive would I have had to make it up? I will be taking my business elsewhere and strongly recommend you do as well. Doctor Stiffey you should be ashamed of your behavior. Diane Riley, thank you for your professionalism and trying to make it right.Ed DuPont

The veterinarian and her assistant that my husband saw were wonderful. My kitty passed away unexpectedly Friday and the Dr. and staff were very supportive and caring. We miss our kitty like crazy but I really appreciate the compassion that was shown to my family during such a challenging situation. Thank you.

I don't have enough words for how I feel about the service, staff and overall experience with New Baltimore Animal Hospital. The staff, overall is top notch. They're kind, caring, engaging and patient (even with a VERY crazy and overprotective dog mom!). While I know they have probably thousands of patients, we never feel like a number. And the team of Doctors? Can't be beat. We work mostly with Dr. Stuart, Dr. Buckeye and Dr. Rocco and EVERY visit no matter routine or emergency, is conducted in depth with care and patience. They never hesitate to explain the details and are happy to talk forward plans for healthcare across the board. And not only do we love working with them as humans but my pack is always at ease in their care. New Baltimore Team, we thank you for over 15+ years of expertise and care of our valuable family members. We can't imagine having any other team on board with our fur babies routine and emergency health needs.

We have been bringing our pets here for years. Nice clean facility. Friendly staff, knowledgeable and compassionate doctors. A lot of the time we are scheduled with Dr Perkins and he really takes the time to explain things. We have also seen Dr Knee and Dr Bucki Ohm over the years and everyone has been great. If you think your pet is sick they work to get them in the same day you call usually within a couple hours.

I have to start with we had an emergency based issue with our chiwawa at 11 on a Saturday. First let me say when I called I was told they could not see him I would have to take him to Latham! Which we did, 1700.00 dollars later we brought our boy home! Two weeks later we had an appointment for 2 of our 3 dogs and we waited over an hour to be told they had an emergency and that was the reason for the wait!!!😡 Then to top off the whole visit the vet we saw barely checked our chawinnie because he growled! Really your a veterinarian is it not your job to give a dog a complete check up! Ridiculous really! Oh and to top it off it was another 450.00 dollars !!! I love my dogs we have 3 and the care that we received this past month was horrible!

New Baltimore Animal Hospital has provided amazing service to us and our pet family. We haven't had a single bad experience in the 2+ years we've been coming here. I would recommend bringing your furry family members here for their check ups and everything else in between.

They work very well as a team. I've had times when my animal needed to be seen and our regular Vet wasn't available. We can get right in and my experience has been that the treating Vet always reads the chart thoroughly and follows up with my regular Vet. This continuity and coordination of care is very important to me and my senior animals. I chose 4 rather than 5 because it is a little pricey. But you definitely get your money's worth!

Brought my dog into New Baltimore after finding out that my wonderful vet, Dr. Curt Halstead had retired and closed his practice. I had used this vet in the past and had a very bad experience, hence the change in practice. My dog had severe diarrhea and if it hadn't been an emergency I would not have relied on them. My dog was seen by Dr. Fullam, who was very professional and courteous the only plus out of the experience. A blood test was done, which I am still waiting on hearing the results. I called this morning and whoever I spoke to acted as though I was bothering her and taking precious time away from her life to answer my call. I asked that the vet call me back....3 hours later I am still waiting to hear from someone. I will NOT be bringing my dog back here and advise anyone that is thinking of bringing their pets here, to please find another vet service.
