Is a shame that the owners are looking to close but it's no surprise. Lots of ppl knew it would come to this. Reinvesting a good part of the money made by a business should be first priority. If you look at the rooms they are all moldy and still look like they belong in the early 70s. Nothing was visually upgraded. This is a problem. The souvenir room seemed to be the priority. You can't have a continuously successful business until major upgrades are made. This establishment clearly made making money and not reinvesting it the priority. Very sad.

The rooms are not fancy… they are very clean and comfortable as well as just steps from everything you would would do there. You don’t come here for the rooms… you come for the rich history of good music and family memories. I have seen top level performers here and the venue is intimate so you are sitting very close no matter where you sit. The staff is lovely and the food is good. There are old and young in the pub at night. The drive there from Syracuse on routes 20, 10 and 145 is just lovely.

Fabulous all inclusive resort with Irish music on weekends in their Pub. They have a heated pool with a pool bar. Irish soda bread baked on premise is fantastic. A great place for family reunions, weddings and to meet new friends.

Nice place for a family vacation.The rooms are OK.The yard is very big with Lots of activities for kids.We were very disappointed with the dinner, the food was greasy, tasteless and the dinner time was very limited at 7:30 the kitchen was closed, he breakfast was very good.The pub is very nice with Irish music and drinks at a very fair price.Another thing that bothered us was the noise of people hanging out on the lawn throughout the night.

Where should I start… every year I come to Gavin’s I feel so welcomed and treated with the upmost hospitality. I enjoy the late night bonfires, music in the pub and can’t forget about the beautiful waterfalls just walking distance away. It is an all inclusive serving breakfast which is a buffet and you can get pancakes which I truly enjoy as well as much french toast. On top of that I order a broccoli and cheese omelette. You can also get cereals that are put out as well. As for lunch they serve salad with cold cut meats but I’ve also gotten some pb&j sandwiches when I was craving them. As for dinner I’ve gotten shrimp scampi which was shrimp with rice and string beans and I’ve also gotten chicken franchise. They also have dessert especially if you have a sweet tooth you’ll enjoy the ice cream, blueberry pie, brownies. Over all I truly enjoyed this weekend getaway.

We were here for a 40th birthday celebration weekend. It was fantastic. A real vibe of an classic catskill resort. It was perfect for this big family and friends reunion. Good food, fun outside bar to have some beers and watch the game or catch up with friends. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it could use some updates. But overall great place for a large gathering. And especially great if you've got Irish roots!🍀☘🍀

When compared to a regular chain hotel/ resort this is a 1 star for sure. But as a Catskills Irish Alps getaway it's a solid 3. The property is well setup for enjoying your friends and family. The food and rooms are not great but completely serviceable. The only major downside is if it rains, there is no place to go and nothing to do. A little bit of renovation could go a long way here.Other than that I have to say my family did enjoy our time there. Kids can run around and play, pool and the fire pits were all a blast.It's a go for group getaways where you would have fun with those people no matter what.It's a no go if you think it's a resort and don't plan on leaving the property.

Attended Gavinstock 2019--great entertainment!! The venue was wonderful, Bernadette and her family do all they can to make you feel like you are home! We enjoyed the food (service was excellent and everyone in the dining room was super friendly and helpful). Our room was great--bed was comfy and we slept well. Loved our balcony view and had coffee there each morning of our stay! We even had one of the waterfalls to ourselves on Sunday morning, what a treat! Already looking forward to Gavinstock 2020. Thanks so much for everything. We had a blast!

An outstanding experience. The service was great, the events were memorable, the staff was more than accommodating, and the setting was breathtaking. Gavins Irish Country Inn brings you directly into the heart of the Catskills, and you really get an understanding as to why the Catskills inspired so many artists and writers in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

I was in town for a nonprofit board meeting weekend. Didn't stay here but attended/hosted several events at Gavin's. There are a variety of event spaces. The staff is wonderful. The grounds are beautiful. Highly recommend.

Delightful atmosphere, wonderful people, clean rooms, delicious food, all set in a picturesque mountain landscape. My son and I attended the Fall Ceili in the heart of the Irish Catskills.We got a late start and did not arrive until 10pm, I called ahead to inform them we would be late and we would miss dinner. When we checked into our room we found 2 delicious hand carved roasted turkey sandwiches waiting for us. It was very thoughtful of them to do for us, we appreciated it greatly. The weekend was filled with music, dancing, amazing food and great conversations. Thank you to the wonderfully friendly staff at Gavins Irish Country Inn. Special thanks to Shilelagh Law NYC for introducing us to this wonderful gem in the mountains.I can't wait for Gavinstock 2019

My Family and i stayed there this year for 5 days. We traveled over from Dublin to Steward Airport and drove for about 50min to Gavins resort. All there staff are so friendly and the food is amazing. Theres so much to do for children and the evening-entertainment in the pub is top class. Iv being to many family holidays-around the world but Gavins is by far the greatest safest place iv ever being in with children. Can not wait to return next Summer.

For the price of your room, you also get three Full meals, happy hour, activities, and nightly entertainment. If you have children, it's even better. So, give Gavin's a try. I don't think that you will be disappointed.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE PICTURES INCLUDED... IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THAT AND NOT AS NICE. Staff were unfriendly while serving food; assumed what you wanted and gave dirty looks if you asked for something different , was told that the amount of chicken was “too much” for me. Food was overall poor and very fatty tasting. Beds are rock hard and pillows suck. Walls are very thin. Overall poor and seems very “run down”.

I went to Gavins to see a concert and had a really great time. They set up a huge tent outside and the band was an absolute blast. Plus Brooke is the best bartender in the county.

Rooms are nicer then other resorts I've been to, price is a little more expensive but facilities are good and breakfast lunch and dinner were included in the cost and were good. Pub prices were similar to other places I had been.
