The campground is clean and well laid out. The staff at the store was very pleasant and helpful. The showers are horrible! They're push button and the water doesn't start on long enough to do anything. You can't control the temperature and the water got too hot. The ventilation is so bad it was difficult to get dressed after showering since you can't completely dry off in that humid environment.

The place is great for a quick get away. The amenities could use some improvements especially since their rates are comparable to locations around them. The playground is fairly new but the grounds around it are not well maintained. The pool is small but works for the kids. They advertise mini golf but it looks like the scene of a horror movie. The sites themselves are nice.

Copake Camping Resort 🏕️ is the best in New York 💕 Everyone, is so kind, considerate and thoughtful. They welcomed me and my stories with open arms. I look forward to returning with my next novel in 2024!Nearby activities: Book Club, swimming, kayaking, hiking, live entertainment and campfire conversations.Safety: Extremely safe.Walkability: Nice trails.Food & drinks: Available at the country store.

Not too kid friendly. An insane amount of rules. Terrible cell service so Wi-Fi would’ve helped- except the Wi-Fi would hardly work and their rule is to only use it for emails and web browsing in 1-hour increments. Outdated checkout at the store- takes forever if you use a debit/credit card. Get with the times! Also, who wants to sign in to use a pool?

I have been going to Waubeeka (right down the road) for the past 20 years, decided to give this place a try since it has a pool .... BIG MISTAKE.First off, Internet is almost non existent. You should be ashamed to even advertise you have internet- called the office and was told "if you go in the parking lot or the porch of the store you might get some reception" Copake Camping resort- Pay to upgrade your internet!Golf cart- when we called to make our reservation- we asked about renting a golf cart- Was told oh you can just do that when you arrive. Arrived and of course- none available. Our fault- we should have booked one at the same time we made our reservation.Next, you advertise a snack bar- When we asked about it was told, " Oh it's not open this year because we couldn't find help" Then take it off your website!!!.. we didn't bring any breakfast items as Y'all advertised breakfast sandwiches. Thanks a bunch! The store didn't have much to offer in terms of grocery items...We had to leave early (one day prior to our scheduled departure) as we needed internet for our jobs. The only positive was Ms. See that worked the reception area- very nice....We will NEVER return and we will tell all of our friends to stay far far away and stick with Waubeeka.

This was our 3rd year there for Christmas in July. Two young girls at front desk were super sweet and great to deal with. We did have a good time however I skimmed the pool for 2 days because the bugs were gross. Some of the “Seasonal” sites were Not very friendly and seemed to have a lot of complaints. We got a golf cart that with at least 4 of us in it did not go very fast at all, meanwhile we were yelled at repeatedly. I mean if it’s 5 mph that’s fine but without a speedometer how does one know if it’s 5, or 6 mph they are going? Yet if you worked there or lived there clearly no rules applied. (Like driving the golf cart being of age) They have a worker who is 14 on a golf cart. We made friends with a few people who seem to have same issue. And we all got eaten alive on ankles and feel from chiggers this year. It’s awful

It was a nice campground, the sites were big and things to do, however you can't bring your electric bike or small motor bike to get around, I mean most people can't carry a golf cart with them, LOL that's not good, also the showers totally SUCK, YOU HAVE TO CONTINUALLY HOLD THE BUTTON, MY WIFE HAS LONG BEAUTIFULL HAIR AND SHE CANNOT GET THE SOAP AND CONDITIONER OUT OF HER HAIR AND HOLD THE BUTTON. I HER HUSBAND TRIED TO TAKE A SHOWER AND HAD A VERY DIFFICULT TIME WASHING , ITS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE, AND TRY TO WASH YOUR BACKSIDE , THATS DEFINITELY IMPOSSIBLE, I STILL HAD SOAP ON ME. AND THE LAST BUT NOT LEAST THING IS THE PRICE, ITS WAY TOO HIGH, I CALL IT HIGHWAY ROBBERY, !! IT WAS $84..00- FOR NO SHOWER , NO SHADE, NO ELECTRIC BIKE ALLOWED, AND NOT EVEN MY LITTLE 50CC MINI BIKE TO GET AROUND!! ILL SUM IT UP IN ONE SENTENCE, WAY TO MANY RULES AND WAY TOO MUCH MONEY!! Mini bikes, electric bikes are sold for a reason, we are supposed to be living in America 🇺🇸, they are not high performance vehicles, they are a necessity for us to get around while camping!!!!!

Don’t ever make reservations here and have an emergency come up because they will not give you one dime of your money back. We made a reservation for ta two month stay, and they made us pay them the entire amount 6 months out, and then Covid hit, and we had to sell our RV, and all they would give us was a future reservation, lol! What part of we had to sell that you didn’t understand? Yeah, they kept the entire $2,000 without blinking an eye….of course, our being from Georgia made it even easier for them, knowing we couldn’t show up at their door…horrible business people.

Usually when you purchase a establishment you make it your own the pictures you have a are not of your establishment that was a KOA totally different. and this campground now is completely different. And I believe that’s why you don’t have a wait list to get in for a seasonal like everyone else around you. And be careful of the seasonals.

Have been here numerous times for trips, and it is lacking this last time. Playground has equipment falling apart and chipping paint, but the worst part is the pool. The "no ball throwing" rule is a joke, big kids with water guns, no respect for others in the pool, lack of parenting. We appreciate the pool, especially when it is hot, but they need some form of rule enforcing so everyone can enjoy the pool. We will be checking out another campground next time. (And no, the check in name is not under me, so you won't find me in your system)

Picnic tables definitely need to be upgraded. They were warped and ugly looking. The grass could of been mowed and quiet hours need to be enforced. Pool was lovely but what's up with having to sign in to swim makes no sense. Beautiful weekend

Went here Last July and it was overall an okay experience. The campground is very clean and the store is nice because it has a lot to offer. However, like what others have said, the seasonal people aren't very nice to outsiders. While we were driving to our site, one of the main roads was blocked off because of a corn hole match going on, so we had to do a loop around the whole campground to get to our site. The person guiding us to the site seemed to forget that we had a 36ft trailer behind us because there were some close calls with a tight bridge and trees. Unfortunately, due to the direction we going in from the main road being closed, it made it impossible to back our trailer onto the site as a result from the awkward angle. After 30 minutes of trial and error, we gave up and went around the campground again and ended up on the road that was more convenient for us. By then, it had started to downpour pretty bad so we figured that the corn hole match would've been over. So we drove through and got screamed at by people on golf carts for interrupting their game even though there was no game because it was downpouring. This was followed by a "Your driving too fast, the speed limit is five miles per hour." We were going four. Our site power post stopped working within the first hour too, but they were very quick to fix it which was great. The owner is very nice as well. We had some great coverasations with her on our stay.

Everything went smooth from reservation/ check in / check out.*Actually we did a last minute reservation and were lucky to get a place. Our cabin was nice & clean and we enjoyed the pool.It wasn’t so crowded (Maybe bc we arrived on Wednesday).Staff @ the front desk was nice & helpful.* Cons:I couldn’t really Id some of the staff (No uniforms/ badge/ or caps). The arcade games ate a couple of my coins (not a big deal, but something it has to be addressed).Overall it was a nice experience. Thankyou, my family had a great time.

Campground landscaping looks well maintained with a lot of seasonal campers. During the week it was very quiet and calm, no activities however the weekend picks up a lot! Plenty of campers coming in for the weekend and activities are planned Fridays and Saturdays. The area around the campground is full of farmland. There's not much to do within a short trip. If you want to do things think about another 30 to 60+ min ride to go do them. There is very limited cell service within the campground. 1 bar of 4g. The wifi service is free you just have to keep signing in every hour. The wifi is also limited during high volume hours. I had difficulty loading any videos. Long loading times for google map searches, instagram, and Facebook as wellCabin- AC very good- Bathroom, clean and free from bugs. Water pressure was good- Beds decent for the week but required extra pillows to prevent back pain- TV small but good clear picture and plenty of channels. Connected a nintendo switch and worked well.Wished it was tucked away for a more wooded experience.- door was difficult to close sometimes had to really pull hard- window blinds were missing pull strings and could only change the flap direction- lighting was decent ceiling fan workedWe did have an issue with our golf cart rental. When we booked our trip we purchased a cabin site, and RV site, and 2 golf carts. 6 days into the trip a manager came and said we didn't return a cart in time and he had people waiting for it. Confused we went to the store to figure it out. The contract emailed to us did not state what we had paid for and for what dates. It did give us rules and regulations and thanking us for the amount paid. We check out the paperwork and 1 paper said the correct dates and the other said only 4 days. This left us throuroughly confused. Looking at their calendars then it looked like both carts needed to be returned on day 6. They explained it as a mix up within their system and ended up giving us a refund. I'm not entirely sure what happened but it seems like a case of double booking. I wasn't appreciative of the slight attitude and the quick original explanation from the owner the we didn't turn the cart back in on time but we did get a refund so that's that.

Very clean! Can I say very clean again? Wow. Been to a lot of KOA campgrounds in my time, this being one of the top in cleanliness! Staff was very pleasant, showed us to our site and helped us back in. Facilities were great, ample game room and great pool made our stay very nice. Arts and crafts for our son were great, as was the pancake breakfast they served that morning. Yum! We will be back!

This was my second attendance to the vintage camper show they hold. Place is under new ownership now. I loved it before. The old owners were awesome. But I think the new ownership and and manager have really punched things up a notch. Grounds were beautiful. New manager is so awesome. Staff is warm and friendly. I like all the little activities they run. Everyone is so warm and friendly. Just loved my weekend there. I hated to leave.

I have stayed here twice and both times have been great. This campground is clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I stayed both times in cabins and I can say the cabins are clean and have enough space to sleep 4 comfortably. The store sells beer but is only open until 8pm so buy what you need to last the night. Will definitely be returning here again. Thanks to the staff at Copake KOA!!

Enjoyed our stay here and it is very kid friendly. They have activities all day for the children and they are nice to the kids. Management is happy and accepts everyone. Every seasonal site is kept nice and clean.

So full disclosure am revising our review. We are tent campers and first started camping here when it was a KOA and continued after ownership changed. Although there weren't nearly as many people at events and activities compared to when it was a KOA it still remained our go to spot. This is a great campground. Clean rest rooms, friendly staff, fun activities and nice amenities. But we now have confirmation that the 4 wonderfully located tent sites they had are going to be turned into full RV sites and we are very disappointed. We get it that RV 'camping' is more popular and the economics that go into that but the fact is they took away the tent sites which shows no regard for their loyal, tent camping families that have been coming here for years. There are a few RV sites they claim can be tented on but we looked at those and they just are not tent sites or anything like the tent sites they had. We will miss it and appreciate the time and memories we had there but now are on to search for a new favorite campground.

Made reservations to camp there but never made it due to a break down and unfortunately they have a really strict refund policy so they would not refund any part of my payment (must be nice to take someone's money and not refund it). Over 200 dollars down the drain

We came here last year and had a great time this year the management Stacy was hard to work with. mailbox for phone was always full so could not leave messages wshe was mean when she talked to people and kids and very rude we have friends here so we were going to ask to stay on until October and asked Stacy if she could find a open spot and get us a prorated rate since it was a holiday weekend she said I might not be able to get that to you till Monday morning but I’ll get you a list of open sites I waited 24 hours still didn’t get a list went back to the store the next day talk to someone else it was her day off they had no answers but did give me a list that they came up with I picked a site and she said come back tomorrow at 9 went back at 9 still no price i asked if we could stay later past check out while we wait for a price since we wanted to just move camper to new site and not drive back to Mass with camper but she said not unless we pay an additional rate of $35 ! We were ready to pay $3000 and leave our camper for the season but now we will not be returning. Waited 3 days for a price and Stacy was not willing to let us wait past checkout while she makes a call to her boss for price that she couldn’t make Sat or Sunday. Campground was empty when we left there was no reason she had to be so rude. Customer service here has gone downhill fast

We stayed there this past Labor Day weekend. It was the first time we were there. Loved the place. We will be back again. The bathrooms were clean. The owners very accommodating and responsive. The only observation I have is that the people in golf carts tended to travel faster than expected. This was just a minor observation and will not keep us from returning. The store was well stocked and the grounds were immaculate. Would definitely recommend this campground.

Very well kept grounds. Well stocked store, though the prices seemed even higher than the usual camp store pricing. The restrooms/showers were hands-down the best I've seen in a campground. They were individual rooms which contain a vanity toilet and shower. They were also perfectly clean. If campground restrooms is what you dislike about camping, this is where you should go. The place was very busy, though it never felt cramped. Simply put, beautiful grounds, well kept and well run. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that I prefer a less active campground, but that's just my empty-nester preference.

Great atmosphere to spend some quiet but fun time with the family. The cabin I stayed was nice and clean. Just keep in mind that the internet service is not that great yet you get WiFi not so good either but manageble if you have nothing inportant to do in the internet.

I don’t normally post like this but there’s a first for everything. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Our family made reservations last summer for this campground. We had to move the dates bc of the pandemic to this year. But unfortunately w extenuating circumstances we need to cancel our Aug camping trip. We emailed them a month ago and as you can see we are well within our time frame to cancel and be fully refunded. Yet. They won’t. Laura and have been fighting w them and get no answer just run around. I’m going to make sure no one has to deal w them again. Rude and utterly poor business practices.6/15/21 update: we finally did speak w someone, we had changed our dates bc nothing was going to be open and their pandemic protocols. It’s fine we received our refund today. Two months later but better late then never.

We were there over the Labor Day weekend. Campground clean level and well run. They run a tight ship there. We would like to come back multiple times next season. Any chance you guys can amend your golf cart policy if we supply enough insurance?? Great place to visit.
