We had a wonderful time learning ASA 101 with Kris. He was very genuine and taught us far more than we expected / the books have to offer. I would highly recommend going to this school if you genuinely want to learn how to sail. We hope our paths cross again with you! Not to mention, he has the cutest dog, Logan, that will add on those extra smiles to your experience. 10/10 would encourage this.

Thanks to Captain Kris, I went from never hoisting a sail to understanding the basics of sailing in just 2 days. His ASA101 course is packed full of wisdom that goes far beyond the textbook. The experiential learning on the Hudson is both challenging and inspirational. And, we did manage a few laughs along the way. His class was a life changing experience for me. Captain K, I owe you a nice Cuban! ;) Thank you for this great class. I highly recommend it!

I have been dreaming about learning to sail for years. I took the plunge and had the best experience with Captain Kris and my fellow crew/students. We learned valuable lessons in the classroom and then had excellent training on the water. I had ZERO experience but by Day 3 Captain Kris said I conquered my fear. Having sailed for over 30 years (self-taught and through books), I thought, taking ASA 101, Basic Keelboat Sailing might be a bit rudimentary. Quite frankly, I was doing it for the certification. I thought I knew the "how-to" and "what". I even thought I knew the "why", but Kris was able to tie everything together in a way that was not only fun but an epiphany. His depth of knowledge and experience combined with patience and a sense of humor made for a wonderful learning experience. I couldn't wait to get home to see how my new-found knowledge, understanding, and confidence would translate to sailing my dinghy on our tiny lake. Yesterday, sailing in pretty heavy winds, for my small boat, I could see, hear and feel the boat in a way that I hadn't before. It was an amazing experience and I can't wait to continue developing my skills with Kris.

Couldn’t have asked for a better place. The instructors were simply amazing and the equipment was more than adequate. Instructors were also close at hand if an issue occurred. Would definitely recommend this program for anyone interested in learning to sail!
