I got the fried chicken and it was chicken breast. Not the fried chicken I was hoping for. The service was very slow and quite disappointing. We waited 45 minutes for our dessert and it was not even busy. The dessert I got was a disappointment. They were fried apples cakes... something like that and they were gooey in the inside. It is pricey here. You will spend $9.00 for a glass of beer. Disappointed and probably will not be going back. Beautiful place but service and dessert really didn't go well at all.

The atmosphere is great. A rustic barn like interior. The service was not good and my steak was a charred thin, I mean half inch at best “14 ounce” prime rib. The waitress left our wine sitting on the bar for 10 minutes until I had to point it out. When I ordered the prime rib which was on the specials list she never asked how I wanted it prepared so I just assumed it was slow roasted, thick and pink like every other prime rib I’ve ever had. Anyway when it came I was disappointed but attempted to enjoy it. Waitress came back and asked how my wife was enjoying her first few bites totally ignoring me. At least a quarter of my meat was inedible. The vegetable were ok and so were the mashed potato’s. The waitress came back and asked if I wanted to box up my charred grizzle and fat. I chuckled dumbfounded and she never asked if I enjoyed it. After paying our $126 bill plus tip (I didn’t stiff her, reluctantly), and heading out, the bartender asked how our meal was. I explained my disappointment. His response was that “well it was a blackened prime rib.” I said that I didn’t recall the waitress telling me that. An older lady sitting at the bar(his mother possibly??) said she loved hers, as if I needed her opinion. The bartender(owner possibly?) said well we’ll take care of you next time! Not likely…Thanks for reading my rant. Honestly might be my first restaurant review. I will try to give a positive review somewhere else soon. Even things out.

Colden Mill Restaurant is less than 15 mins south of E Aurora Village-- east to find in a sweet setting. Chef is both talented & creative, our food (shrimp & grits and bacon wrapped meatloaf, fantastic salad and a trio of sorbets) was all delicious! Our server was charming, pleasant and efficient, the bartender was friendly, and bar area for pre dinner drink or meeting friends is ample. And the biggest surprise? - live music on Wednesday nights. If you live in East Aurora and you like our restaurants but want a new spot- make Colden Mill another place to frequent. My only suggestion for chef? maybe more vegetarian choices. It was great, we will be back!

Poor slow and unattentive service. Prime rib flavorless and fatty over 30% fat. Cut under weight, served under done. Ordered med. came out rare sent back came out well covered in gravy, server never checked back. Dessert ordered apple fritter, melted ice cream and raw fritters. No apologies, no compensation no return guest and there were 9 of us.

Our evening started by being seated on the deck overlooking the creek. We sipped our cocktails as we reviewed the new elevated menu which offered several choices of seafood, beef and pork. My husband ordered the seafood skewers and I the strip. The food was prepared perfectly. Our server Matt was attentive and prompted with our cocktails and meal. This restaurant has become our 1st choice.

I had the pleasure of visiting The Colden Mill for Easter brunch with my family, and overall, it was a delightful experience. We found the process of making a reservation online via Open Table to be very easy and convenient. When we arrived at the restaurant, we had a bit of a mix-up with our reservation, as it turned out we had actually made a reservation for Mother's Day instead of Easter! Despite this, the staff at The Colden Mill were incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure that we still had a great experience.Our server, Sam, provided us with impeccable service throughout our meal. The food was delicious, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. We were very grateful for the efforts that the restaurant made to ensure that we were still able to dine with them, even though we had made a mistake with our reservation. We were so impressed with our experience that we may even consider keeping those Mother's Day reservations after all!Overall, I highly recommend The Colden Mill to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Don't hesitate to make a reservation and enjoy a meal at this wonderful WNY staple!Parking: There is plenty of parking across the street if you can not find something in front of the restaurant.

A mill over a stream s transformed into a lovely restaurant. The limited menu provides sound choices. The dining room and bar are spectacular. The view from the deck is magnificent.

Had a great family dinner , started with the coconut shrimp and a chorizo stuffed plabano . Both were very delicious , plenty of shrimp to share for 2-4 people. The pepper was very tasty , good to share thought to cut up . The drink menu was very extensive , but highly recommend the Manhattan. For the main course, the Friday special was a King Cut prime rib that was perfectly cooked and had some of the best AuJu I've ever had. The Colden Mill is the perfect restaurant for a nice date night out , an anniversary, birthday, or just a nice dinner out. Food , service, and atmosphere were all top-notch . They also had some outdoor seating, which would be nice too if you like dining outside.

Excellent food... some unique dishes that were delicious... the Onion soup is to die for and it's almost a meal by itself. The fish fry was worth the trip there. But our waitress was very non-attentive. I think it depended on if she knew you or not if you got the dinner rolls that were supposed to come with the meal.... I look forward to going back there but I will ask for a different waitress!!! I watched another customer go to the bar and complain about her.Other than that it's a great restaurant with great food and a great atmosphere.

I was really hoping for more out of this restaurant. We went for my grandmas birthday dinner. Maybe we caught them on a bad day? But everything we asked for off the menu they didn’t have. They must have been short staffed because our food took a while to come out, some came out cold. The filet that I had was not good, I ordered rare - med/rare and it was so burnt on the outside that all I could taste was char (it kills me to throw away a $44 steak). Our server was nice but unfortunately overcharged me so I’m glad I reviewed the receipt before leaving the parking lot.For what’s it’s worth, the best things we ordered were the crab cakes and cheeseburger soup.

My handsome man took me out to Colden Mill for Valentines day. The venue was super cute, rustic, and had a one page menu with some great options. The crab cake was delicious and our meals were both fantastic. It was a very intimate atmosphere and there was seating on the main floor and a small balcony overlooking the main room. The service was great and we really enjoyed our meals and each other while we were there.

Was just there for a very nice dinner food was exceptionally well portioned along with a great taste to everything. He had the prime rib special that’s was cooked to perfection and I had the tenderloin pasta which was also cooked to perfection and the taste was phenomenal. We both brought half of our meals home because of the large portion size. Staff was also great very friendly and knowledgeable. Recommend it to everyone.

Onion soup both ways, grilled Romaine- amazing! Mine and my husband's steaks were on point. Our waitress is always wonderful. We meet our friends for dinner here often. I enjoy the salmon when on special as well.

We understand that places are short staffed. This is one of our favorite restaurants and decided to come for my birthday. First we waited a half hour past our reservation time to be sat. We both ordered the steaks. Steaks were cooked to order but one of them was more than half fat and all of the sides that came with them both were barely warm. When we made this known to our server who was fantastic she told the manager the issues and then offered us a dessert on the house. We kindly declined due to time restrictions with baby sitters and just asked for the bill. They didn’t comp a single thing when we declined the dessert.

We came from Buffalo—a 45 minute drive—and it was more than worth it. The atmosphere was charming, cozy, and welcoming. The staff made us feel welcome and were very knowledgeable about the menu. Our food came out in a very good amount of time, and it was incredible. My husband and I both god steaks, and they were some of the best steaks we’ve ever had. We would absolutely come again, and plan to soon!

It was okay. They seemed to be out of a lot of stuff, for example they didn't have the beer my husband ordered or pineapple juice for my drink. I ordered the beef tenderloin pasta and it was just play, very dry. My husband's dish was pretty good though, bacon wrapped meatloaf. The staff was very friendly.

My mom and I had dinner night there together, we had a reservation. Rebekah, our server was incredibly friendly and cheerful. She read the specials to us and we ordered the nightly special appetizer, they didn't have it in. That was sad because bacon wrapped scallops sounded good to try. Food was pretty good, we had the salmon.

My family and I (four people) made a reservation for 8pm to celebrate important milestones in our lives. When we arrived there was no other customers there, except for 2 people at the bar. The 4th person in our party was running late, and we let the server know this when we sat down, that we may be taking his meal to go instead. However the server asked multiple times when the fourth person would arrive because “they close when the last person is done” even though online it listed 10pm… at 8:30 we just ordered the meal to go so he would stop asking. My husband ordered Jamaican Jerk chicken, they served a chicken breast with barbecue sauce..no jerk seasoning. I ordered the Cajun shrimp and Mac and cheese, the noodles were mush and the shrimp also had no seasoning…the meal we ordered to go was a Filet and the kitchen was out so the server said they would substitute for a ribeye, and still charged us the 45 dollars for the filet. At approximately 9 we paid the bill, and the server asked if we would like dessert “to go”, again feeling rushed when they clearly weren’t busy. It was also a Saturday night…my mom ordered the blueberry cheesecake bread pudding. In her words it tasted like a “dirty dish sponge”. The reviews made the place seem nice, the menu sounded good, and it’s a nice looking country restaurant on the outside, but they rushed us through the meal, and the food was at best sub par. We like to support local restaurants/ businesses as we understand everyone is struggling right now, but I doubt we’ll be back

Had dinner Friday night. The service was amazing and our food was cooked perfectly. We both had a ribeye and it came out with temps cooked perfect. The atmosphere was wonderful and we will definitely be returning! Thank you for a wonderful evening.
