Our local village grocery store is a bit on the pricey side because it is not a megastore that is part of a mega chain, but it has long hours and good selection and serves the village well. The employees are basically all locals who are friendly and invested in the store's success. And I guess when I talk about price, it is all relative. I'm comparing the price here to Walmart or a big grocery chain with huge stores. If you are from new york city, this will seem like regular prices or a little cheaper.

Had items I needed prices were little steep. Better than driving 30 min to Peekskill. Tag on Carolina reapers said hot peppers. 😄

Many products I need to buy is way too high TO REACH on the shelves.Now that Foodtown is expanding, should lower some of those products. To make it REACHABLE. Like Shop Rite, Stop n Shop, ADAMS, SAM CLUBS,, WALMART,, etc much more convince n reachable.AND STILL... VERY DISAPPOINTED AT FOODTOWN..Absolutely UNFAIR to the public !It needed someone like Emuel Gulliver of Gulliver Travelers to shop at Foodtown.

This place is great. Closest to main street and has all your needs. We bought some snacks, drinks, sushi, ice cream and fruit while we were staying there for visit.

My first time today in a grocery store since the March 2020 covid-19 shutdown; I've been only shopping at farmers markets. It's great to see the local students' artwork displayed on stores front windows. The community is allowed to post flyers of events, so gives Cold Spring Foodtown the feel of the old time village grocers that was also a community hub.This Foodtown is small but packed with fruits & veggies & organics & gluten free items & vegan items, as well as a deli counter & fresh on-site sushi chefs, & the usual stuff you find in a big grocery store - beers, coffees & teas, chips, meats, plant-based meat substitutes, all different plant & animal milks, household cleaning items, baking supplies aisle, pet aisle, Bob's Red Mills section for different flours & grain, juices, sodas, soups, frozen food aisle....., but much quicker to find things and quicker to get in & out.Friendly staff & specialty items in jams, nut butters, breads, chocolates, cookies, smoothies, cereals, pastas, ice creams, goat/sheep/cow yoghurts & cheeses .....

A small supermarket which had all of what I needed. Clearly the right thing for the town it was in and clearly run properly, but if you need a huge variety to select from. You'll need to go to a huge supermarket.

My local store. Friendly staff in each department always helpful. Deli has patience! Wonderful! The store is on the smaller side but requests for products you want are taken. I didn't give 5 Stars because of prices. They are higher than other stores and although I want to support my local supermarket, of course shop minutes from my house, I still must travel to purchase many items elsewhere.I have questioned if he brought prices lower and word got out if the quantity pushed through wouldn't increase profit and also meet the needs of our local community who want to do all their shopping there.

This little grocery store has a broader selection of quality products than many large stores. From the outside, I would never expect to find the selection of products this store offers. Great beer selection, nice chocolate selection, they stock Bread Alone sourdough, really good yogurt and milk options, lots of bottled juices, many olive oils, nice cheese/olive selection, etc etc.Checkout staff are always friendly.Prices are steep.

It was a 60's style environment. It had everything I was looking for, something I have difficulty finding in the large chain stores. And the employees were quite friendly. I really enjoyed my visit!

Be careful to check the expiry date of anything you buy here, particularly dairy and other perishables. They have a tendency to leave products on the shelf 3-4 weeks after they are expired.There aren’t many other choices for a supermarket in the area.

This is the best Foodtown, lots of healthy organic items, nice fresh produce, good deli, a sushi man, and lots more.The staff is friendly. Oh thier craft beer selection is great and lower priced.It is no Whole Foods or Trader Joe's but still very good.

Too crowded, people were not maintaining 6 foot distance, nor were aisles well marked with flows for people, and the store is very cramped.Food was also priced very high due to the captive market the store enjoys.Left without completing order after not feeling safe due to crowded spaces.They would do well to limit the number of shoppers in the store at once wirh a greeter or something like that.

Nice grocery store with a good selection of higher end brands for products like ice cream and cheese. The prices are roughly the same as NYC grocery stores which is surprising.They have a really good sushi counter and the sushi is made fresh 👌.

My experience this morning at Food Town Cold Spring convinced me not to go back. First, the milk prices are ridiculously high. I shared my observation-politely- with the cashier and she replied that if the prices are too high I should not buy it. Although factually not inaccurate, this response was curt and rude instead of courteous. Second, when approaching the cashier line, I momentarily forgot the necessary distancing rules. I am NOT anti-mask and I respect social distancing. The cashier grabbed a sign and slammed it on the conveyor. The memory lapse is my error, not hers. But her reaction was, again, rude. I politely apologized twice for getting too close but she lacked either the professionalism or maturity to accept it. When it became my turn to approach, she refused to move her little sign, making it nearly impossible to place my items on the belt.I am a local business owner in the Village and occasionally have last minute needs. In addition, I spend hundreds of dollars on consumables for my store every week. Many of the business owners on Main Street ask each other about suppliers, prices, services, etc. I shared this experience with two merchants already and will share with others if asked. So, FoodTown's desire, as the only chain grocery store in Cold Spring, to make a few extra pennies on milk results in my going elsewhere to spend hundreds of dollars. Further, this cashier, seemingly so unhappy on many levels and unable to separate that from her work life, mishandled almost every possible opportunity to gain a return customer. It is often taught in basic business school that on average, a happy customer shares their experience with two people while a poorly treated customer shares that with ten.I read many positive reviews of this same store, suggesting my experience is not the norm. However, my experience convinced me to go elsewhere, post this review, and honestly share my experience with anybody who asks. I would be better served going to the Cold Spring Sunoco / convenience store.

Great deli, fresh baked breads, a sushi chef, fresh veggies and fruits. A large selection of craft beers to build your own 6pack. Local honey and maple syrup + all the pantry staples. Friendly people in each department. Love it, just be prepared to fork over your money.
