What a hidden gem! This lovely little motel and cottage property has everything you need to enjoy your stay in the Thousand Islands Region of NY! The rooms are clean, and the beds were comfortable. There is a centrally located coffee room that's available 24 hrs. There is a community fire pit with a nightly fire, and down the hill close to the river a pergola with tables and chairs, and a line of Adirondack chairs for river watching. Jolene was super sweet and took care of everything we needed! We will definitely be back!

I had the pleasure of staying here last week for our tour of the 1000 Islands. This place is just 3 minutes drive away from downtown Clayton and 20 min from Alexandria Bay. The motel rooms are great for parties of 2 and cottages for larger accommodations. We spent most of our evenings by the fire pit, meeting other couples from around the country drinking and having a great time. Sorry for going through all your firewood, Jolene.Rooms: Rooms are great for 2 people, anymore you should book a cottage. All rooms and cottages have their own parking.Walkability: The walk from the cottages to the motel rooms has a bit of an incline, so that will get you in shape if you decide to visit the castles on the 1000 island tours.

Extremely clean. Came here for fishing with son in law. First timers. Staff were extremely polite and helpful. Brought our boat and they even plugged us in to charge our batteries. Great place! We had the fisherman’s cottage which is the basic level. All we needed and still very happy. Other cottages were even better.

What a great place to stay. Lots of activities...Pool , horseshoes, community fire pit, where we met people from all over. Plus the view of the water.Thank you for your hospitality...Nearby activities: They have a beautiful distillery nextdoor, and Alexandria bay was about 10 Miles away.

Stayed in the Motel section for a few days in month of June 2022 , which is too my delight " DOG FRIENDLY." The owners, Jolene & Dean, along with their dedicated staff members are tirelessly working to make sure everyone's stay exceeds all expectations-mission accomplished!!!! We were made too feel like we were at our home away from home. The grounds were well manicured with awesome scenery down near the docks , built in pool, screened in gazebo, community fire pit with chairs and outdoor picnic benches. The list seems limitless for all the amenities they offer. Clean, comfortable, great location, quality & value. 5 star rating in my book & looking forward to seeing them in a few weeks.Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable,Paul, Sue & Junie B

I travel 70 percent of the year with my job. I was able to book this gem for one night. I stayed at the fisherman's cottage and it was AMAZING! Jolene was BEYOND accommodating! This place is an absolute MUST stay whether you're in town on business or looking for a weeklong vacation with family. Pool is great and really clean. This place is an absolute MUST. Jolene takes impeccable care of her guests. Every need is anticipated and if there is something you need she immediately responds.The rooms are very spacious and immaculate. It’s very close to the center of Clayton and not far from Cape Vincent. There’s a beautiful pool and a GREAT fire pit. Very quiet. All around a five star stay!! Don’t miss it!

My husband, children and I had a wonderful stay at West Winds! Jolene was super sweet and friendly! I could chat for hours with her! My son ( 3 year old) and husband had a blast fishing off the rocks and my daughter ( 5 months) and I enjoyed the walks to the water and gorgeous sunsets! Cottage #14 was perfect for the 4 of us- loved, loved, loved the cozy cottage and the porch!! I actually slept on the porch one night just to be able to wake up to beautiful sunrise - beautiful view of the St. Lawrence! We checked out the "wooden castle" playground at the Village Park and walked around Frink Park in the heart of Clayton. Great trip, we would definitly stay at West Winds inn the future!

My husband and I stayed here for one night this past weekend with our small dog. Jolene was very sweet on the phone when I made my reservation. Upon arrival, Dean checked us in. He was very nice and informative. We really enjoyed our stay. The river view is beautiful, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The location is perfect too. I wish we could have stayed mutiple nights. This will definitely be our hotel of choice whenever we visit the 1000 islands. I can't wait to come back!!

Jolene is wonderful to work with. She makes sure everything is perfect for your stay. We just finished staying here for 3 nights and already booked a return stay for September. Our cottage was immaculate, comfortable, and had an incredible water view! The grounds are gorgeous and we'll kept. There is also a large pool and plenty of parking. Best of all it is quiet and peaceful, and only a 2 mile drive into Clayton for restaurants, shops, etc. This place is truly a gem!

Jolene and her family create such a warm and inviting atmosphere. It truly is our Home Away From Home. With exceptional clean rooms, quaintly decorated with nautical themes, complimentary coffee and ice, crystal clear swimming pool, beautiful screened in gazebo for a wonderful dining experience. Ending every night with a warm campfire where you relax enjoy the beauty of their location and meet new people. Give a 5 star rating for sure!! Our go to Anniversary vacation every year!

This was our second stay at West Winds, and we plan to return again. The property is well-maintained, and the rooms are clean. The property is on the Saint Lawrence River. They have a lovely pool that is heated to a comfortable temperature and is kept clean. There is a gazebo and grills for guests, as well as outdoor chairs and a swing to sit on. Every evening we went down to the stairway and sat on a bench to watch the sunset. It’s a relaxing, clean, comfortable and welcoming place to stay!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here this past weekend. While the rooms were cozy and a bit small (smaller than you'd get at a standard hotel) and the furnishings weren't super updated, everything was very clean and comfortable. The pool was very clean and updated and Steve, who we met when we checked in was really helpful and accommodating. That night there was a bonfire that he invited us to, gave us his cell number of we needed anything and all around was really great. If you're worried about staying in the most updated place, this wouldn't be the motel for you but if you enjoy a very reasonable, clean place, look no further!

Beautiful location on channel. Motel part is near the main road and cabins go down the hill towards the docks. Motel rooms are small but clean. They include a mini fridge, free wifi and free parking. Bathroom only has small shower. Have to go to office for coffee. Towels were threadbare but clean. Bring shampoo and soap because they are not included. Campfire every night is warm and cozy. We were told the cabins are nicer, but we didn't go into any of them.

Very enjoyable stay!!! The owner Jolene is such a lovely lady and everything is spotless. Very nice fire gathering place in the evening to visit with other guests and the sunset on the water is breathtaking!!! A wonderful location too. Visit the Clipper Inn for dinner is a must!!!

If your looking for that quiet place to unwind and take in some great views. This is the place, the staff goes out of their way to make sure you have a great stay. I haven't relaxed like this in years. The weather was great and the view so peaceful. We will be coming back again and again. Oh ya in case you have a pet you want to bring they allow pets. So great

Stayed in the sleeping cottage 2 nights. We were up boat shopping. They left flowers In our room when they heard it was our anniversary. Great friendly couple who runs this place. Clean reasonable nice pool too and nightly campfire. Also comfy beds. Will be back.

While traveling for work came across this simply amazing home away from home. The owners just not typical owners they put the customer first !!! an which is said often but showed less. Exceptionally cleanest I've been in the area since nov of last year. I could go on an on the view is breathtaking. Come check it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed!

We just left and already wish we could go back. My girlfriend and I came in for business and West Winds fit right into the budget. Maura was super helpful in getting us checked-in and checked-out, quick and easy. The views of the water are great, the area is quiet, and it's perfectly located right next door to Saint Lawrence. 10/10 will return the next time I'm in town.

Jolene and her husband,AND the staff were wonderful:)We already made a reservation for next year, for the cottage, and are looking forward to the beautiful view and being in the area :)
