Convenient location of 5 miles to Clayton.Pros...super sweet owners, small park, very quiet at night. Water, electric and picnic table at every spot. 4 bathrooms(men and womans seperate) and 2 showers (for 25 cents) and a small playground. Pool also.Cons...just an open field, we got the 1 tree in the field, lots of birds in it to wake ya up. The bathrooms were never cleaned. Had a game room but was locked up the whole time. I'm sure if I asked the owner she would have oped it though. No access to the river.

Owner is a miserable woman who stalks you as you enter the camp ground and will rush over to you and yell at you if you dare drive over 5 mph in the camp ground. She isnt friendly or kind, just rude. Dont give me some lame response about how you have a 5 mph speed limit, my car damn near idols faster than that, im not causing any one danger by going around the loop at 10 mph. I have brakes, in fact it would probably be more dangerous for me to be staring at my speedometer to make sure i dont exceed 5 mph then just having my eyes fixed on my surroundings as i go 10 around the camp ground. Dont visit here, you wont enjoy your experience.

I fish for a living and I'm always looking for a quite place to camp with my family. If you have found Riverside you've found a small little piece of paradise. Our first weekend here the owners cooked a parent's appreciation breakfast for everyone in the park. The park itself is very clean and quite. John and Pam are kind work very hard to make your stay enjoyable. Thank you guys for your wonderful hospitality. We'll see you again soon!Joe Linda and the minions (kids)

Myself and three other people stayed at the cottages in early June and it was amazing. The cottages aren't a 5 star hotel but they also don't come with the price of one. They are well kept, and have a nice crisp clean air smell to them with all of the necessities. The camp grounds are also very beautiful with nice views of the river and well maintained grass fields. The pool was so clean and such a nice way to cool off during the day in the summer. They have a nice little game room and very nice bathrooms as well for men and women on the camp grounds. Pam was so helpful with any questions we had and was always just a call away if we had any questions or concerns. She truly goes above and beyond to ensure that all of her guests have a great time. It's also a short drive to the town of Clayton, which is beautiful and has a bunch of little bars and places to eat and enjoy the river. Its a nice place to get away for the weekend!

My family and I were here for a family vacation/fishing trip. Not the first time we stayed here, we definitely decided to come back because our first stay was great. The owners are very lovely. Pool was clean offered toys to play in pool, large area for football, soccer, and other games. No issues with any amenities in the cottages everything worked fine, land is maintained! we are definitely coming back! Very comfy and family oriented! Thank you for a nice stay!

I came with my grandma and there were a lot of local places to go to. Pam was really nice as she made my brother feel welcome when he was scared of staying in a strange place. The pool to my brother was very exciting. Everybody is very nice and you can always find a person to talk to

Love this campground! Everything is well maintained and super clean. Pam and John, the owners, go out of their way to make sure you have what you need and are comfortable - even to the point of trimming back a tree branch that slightly interfered with our awning!! We camp with a cat who thoroughly enjoy watching the chipmunks and birds. If watching nature isn't enough there's a beautiful pool and a game room as well as volleyball and more.

This was our first time at Riverside with our camper and it was great. The owners were great, they provided a cable box, clean bathroom and showers. Atmosphere was wonderful, friendly neighbors and very clean. Will definitely go back.

The people that own this campground are wonderful!! They gave us cable boxes so we could get TV and went way out of the way calling the cable company late on Friday night to make sure we got connected. They enforce the 5 mile an hour speed limit as they should. This was a very quiet campground in a great location!! We had a great time and would camp here again!!

The owners and facilites were absolutely awesome!!! We were poured on last night and our tent collapsed with our one year old. The owners then gave us a complimentary night stay in there one bedroom cottage. And woke up at midnight to get us in. Everything was great, neat and tidy. Southern hospitality at its finest!!!! Highly recomended

Pam was welcoming and accommodating. While we literally put up a tent, went into Clayton for dinner, slept, took down the tent, and left, the campground is set up with play equipment, a sandbox, and a pool.

There is no sewage and it will cost you $5 to empty your grey water and $5 for black water. The owners were incredibly nosey. Driving their golf cart around my car or coming over everytime I went outside. The owner yelled at the top of her lungs at my mother for driving over 5mph and then her husband scolded my father for going 6mph. I understand if we are driving 15mph and you politely tell us to slow down. Unfortunately the owners are old and obsessed with every move you make because they have nothing better to do. You have to pay to take a shower and there is no laundry on the site. There is a nice little activity room with games, pool table and books to read and a swimming pool if you have kids but that's about the only nice thing I can point out. My family won't stay here ever again. The woman was so nosey that she even came out on her golf cart and did a horse shoe around the back of my truck while I was backing it up to watch what I was doing. She got between me and a picnic table in the field where no one else was around, went to my passenger side and circled back around me and zipped away again. We tried to get a refund and leave but was told no. Not a day went by where she didn't make us feel uncomfortable or let it be known that she was watching us. Her trailer looked on to our RV and it just ruined our vacation. I feel so sorry for my parents because they spent a lot of money to go on vacation only for it to be ruined by these owners.Update: Although I do not wish to go back and fourth with the owner I will state that I am 29 years old. I am a veteran of the Marine Corps along with my father who served for 20 years. I wrote this review at his request because he does not want anyone else to make the mistake that he did. He read the Google reviews but now after going through them again he sees that people have made similar complaints about the owners. Many of the guests that stay here are old and do not post Google reviews. Choose your vacation spot wisely.

Was there for one night, very calm, pool was closed has it was the end of the season. Bathroom for the ladys are new and very clean. Batroom for the men are ok but outdated, got to talk to the owner and she explained that the remodeling of the men s bathroom is in the near futur projects. Owner very attentive since I told her the steps to the bathroom was very dark at night and the battery operated light was out, she got to replacing the batterys right away. Pros- clean, calm, nice owners ,prices ok.ladies bathroom A1cons- few trees for the overnight travellers sites, no access to lake ontario, rec room outdated decor, mens bathroom outdated.

My husband and I spent a great week at Riverside Acres in Clayton, NY. The owners, John and Pam, were so attentive. They answered our questions about the area immediately with accurate information and helped us quickly solve any problems that came up. We would definitely stay at Riverside Acres again when we are in the area.

We were a group of eight tent campers and required a site that could accommodate two large tents, had electricity and a place that could accommodate my pickup truck along with a 30 foot trailer which was hauling our boat.Upon arrival at Riverside Acres I've met John, who got me signed in pretty quickly and then guided/led us directly to where our site was in the dark. We were able to park my truck and boat right on the same site as where we were camping. The site #49 was huge and had water and electric. Once we had our site setup we settled in for the night. The next morning we met, Pam the other owner. She was out making her rounds, cleaning the restrooms and making sure all the campers had everything they needed. We had a very pleasant conversation and we learned that these two (John & Pam) recently purchased this Campground just a few short years ago. They are making upgrades to the property as time and budget allows.1. They have an area for seasonal RV's and campers which is pretty well established. Many of these sites the seasonal renters have built on patio, porches, decks, screen rooms Etc. It's a cozy little environment and the seasonal folks that I met were very kind to us transient Tent campers.2. The general area for RV's and tents is off to the right of the seasonal area. Here you will find a few sites against a wall of trees toward the back of the campground that offers some seclusion/shade.Looking back towards the front of campgrounds and now to the left is the rest of the area. These open sites run along the high ground which overlooks a HUGE open field that is well maintained.Site #49 on this side is the only site with a large pine tree.3. Cottages! This property also offers cottages on the front of the property along the main road. Now, these cottages are fairly dated but the owners have done some nice things to give them an updated feel, while maintaining the originality/nostalgia value here. For example, the cottages have antique looking Kitchenette type stoves that are probably worth some money to those who are into the classic pieces. These two host/owners were awesome. They became our friends and by the end of our stay, it didn't feel right leaving without a firm handshake and a hug!!!Pros:* Fantastic people who own it* Pool for the kids* Playground for the kids* Large sites* Water and electric* Hot Showers* Right next to town (Clayton)* Public boat launch close by* Great base to go and explore the 1000 Islands* Friendly fellow campers/seasonal campers* Lots of space to keep my trailer/boat onsite.* Very reasonably priced* Clean - Owners active everyday* We had a great time visiting and camping herePam and John will make you feel like family!
