As a recent transplant from the city to the rural charms of upstate New York, my visit to Tractor Supply in Chester was an eye-opening experience. Originally, I ventured in to pick up 4Health dog food for my furry companions, a brand I've grown to trust. To my delight, they had all four varieties I was looking for, allowing me to mix up meals for my pups.But the real adventure began as I wandered through the aisles. I found myself amidst a treasure trove of hunting gear and tools – a far cry from the city stores I'm accustomed to. It was like stepping into a new world, one that I'm eager to explore, even if I'm still learning the ropes.The encounter with the cashier was a refreshing change from the often impersonal interactions I've had in city stores. She was genuinely warm and friendly – a welcome change of pace and a pleasant reminder of the community spirit in my new rural setting.The variety of dog foods available was astonishing, far surpassing what I've seen in pet stores back in the city. It's reassuring to find such an extensive range in a place that's quickly becoming my go-to for pet supplies.Pricing was just as I anticipated, but the store's cleanliness and organization were what really stood out. The addition of a dog washing station was a pleasant surprise, and even the ongoing bathroom renovations didn't dampen the overall positive experience.In summary, my trip to Tractor Supply wasn't just a simple errand; it was part of my acclimation to rural (to me) living. Each visit feels like a small adventure, a chance to embrace my new lifestyle. It's a store that not only caters to my needs but also opens up a window to the vast possibilities of outdoor rural life.

I also have shopped here since the day it opened. I have always been greeted with a friendly hello. Today was my first time in the expanded store. Floor team member greeted me and helped to track down some boots that were not on the floor- she came and found me! I bought the boots. My favorite place for dog, cat, and bird supplies. In the last few years I head to TS before Lowe's and Home Depot. I almost always get what I'm looking for . I chatted with the assistant manager who told me about the future green house. I can't wait since I'm an avid gardener!

I have been a shopper customer client of tractor supply since the day it opened it's doors in Chester NyI am so fortunate to live so close to such an incredibly special place built for my farm horses dogs land and building maintenance program. As always management and staff are delightfully generous with time, help, knowledge and concern for doing a job correctly. To support healthcare with feed programs horses dogs chickens and more. To always support safety for all with quality equipment and farm design. Always well stocked and efficient to all my business, family members along with land care building maintenance. They just have it all and everything is organized for easy learning and shopping. 💯 Across the board! Never have felt bad giving my earnings back to Tractor Supply in Chester NY AGRICULTURE farm store and much more

The only complaint is the aisle size. Small confined spaces make for tricky navigation.Yet, what is fantastic about this location is the friendliness of the staff. We were shopping for a customer who needed supplies for their chickens. While walking around Tractor Supply, we found that some of the items were hard to find- especially when we don't usually shop for chicken supplies. However, thankfully, Melissa was there! She was a major help in finding the items we needed. We're happy that she was patient with our many questions!If you're in the Chester Tractor Supply, then know that you will be met with nice people who are ready to answer your questions regarding their inventory.

Dog clinic on some Saturdays. No vet office fee. Supply are many for household and gardening. Also saw pet food and supplies. Prices are what they are. You have to see for yourself and compare. Staff friendly. Store organized.

Chester store seems to be one of the best. Plus so happy , I got my $130 wolverine boots on clearance for $47 !!!!! Look for the deals, they are around believe me!

Really nice staff, great store for all your garden and outdoor supplies. They have cowboy boots too, but unfortunately, Ariat and Justin boots are made in China now!

I love Tractor Supply just because they have cool hardware, work clothes and pet supplies you cant find anywhere else. I showed up late on sunday to return a couple of items, as well as buy some new items. The staff were really helpful, patient and polite. The store was well stocked, quiet and a dream to visit.

This store is mediocre at best. I ordered and paid for an item online that was said to be in stock. I came the next day to pick it up and it took almost thirty minutes for someone to find the item. They kept asking me if I was sure if I ordered it to the right store and if I had let too many days pass since i had ordered it. If they were able to read the receipt that I brought in with me it was as clear as day which store the order was made too and what day. Eventually after being passed around from one apathetic employee to another a manager asked what was going on and quickly found the item. Of course after he found it they couldn't figure out how to process the pickup receipt. He came by about ten minutes later and asked why I was still there so I told him I needed the processed receipt, he sighed and did it himself. Nice people at the store but very very inefficient.

I was very saddened that you would consider hosting this weekends Trump parade in your parking lot. I've always enjoyed shopping at your store because it was convenient off/on the highway on my way home. I know we all have our political views, but I would think that you would be respectful of all your customers. Not sure I'll feel welcome there anymore. Just thought you might want to know. Thank you

I just called in to ask simply if this location had marigolds for sale, as the website advertised they had previously. The call lasted all of 15 seconds and the guy who answered couldn't have been more rude. All I said was Hello, do you have any marigolds for sale and the rude guy tersely said "No." And hung up the phone. Terrible attitude, rudest place I've ever called. I've been in customer service for 5+ years and it doesn't take that much effort to just be nice to people who have done nothing wrong to you. I'd give 0 stars if I could just based on this one single interaction.

Ericka at the Chester NY store in Orange County is the best customer service rep that I have ever dealt with. TSC did not have the trailer axles that I required. She provided me with some advice and suggestions that helped get me back on the road. Ericka went above and beyond what was required and I want to personally thank her for her efforts. Pleasant experience shopping here. Greeted upon arrival and employees were courteous and helpful. However, I am a bit disappointed that they no longer offer a Military Discount? When Home Depot, Lowes, and Ace Hardware Still offer the discount all year long

On 6/4/16 I was driving on rt17 with my trailerIn tow when I had a blow out with my trailer tire. I was lucky to get off the road, but unfortunately I had no spare. That's when I remembered tractor supply has tires already mounted on the rim. I was able to get the blown tire off and go an exit down to your store. It was there that I met a man named Gene who worked in the tire dept. Since I had never bought a trailer tire I didn't know the specifications. Gene was happy to help and got me the right tire for my trailer. If it wasn't for Genes help I most likely would have gotten the wrong tire and would have been stranded. It is good sales associates like Gene that make your store such a great success. his knowledge was very instrumental in me getting what I needed, so I could get home safely. Thank you Gene and your great store! You saved the day!

I don’t think I’ll visit this store again for many reasonsI’m not talking about entire staff just about guy who claims he’s the manager. I’m the pick up person for a few people in the area because of the coronavirus.A few weeks ago I asked for a product from the fridgeThe same guy asked me an odd question I kinda shrugged it off but it did bother me.Im thinking maybe because of my skin color he would asked a question like that ,recently I go for another pick up and without looking into it he immediately wrote me off insisted that he knew what he was talking aboutuntil a minute later he admitted his mistake .I’m thinking now and from another review here about a lady complaining about Michelle a cashier thereThat this store has a problem a racial profiling problem.Its sad that a few sick minded bad apples can ruin a business and it’s image !!***** UPDATE 10/2021*****Same type of peopleWade took his sweet time like alwaysDoing other things not customer relatedYou don’t even feel welcome thereI’ll take the long drive to West MilfordWhere they are nice helpful knowledgeableI will never visit this dump again

Unacceptable service, associates should be trained and understand the systems they use before being by themselves at the cash register. Greeting would be a good way to welcome a customer into your store and not just stare into no where wishing it was time to go. Simple hello and have a great day even if you dont mean it will go a long way for a company. Reminding myself to go to another tractor supply location for dog food. Unreal..

I used to go to this Tractor supply all the time until the one in Pine Bush opened up. You get great customer service here unlike other big box stores.I highly recommend going here instead of home depot or Lowe's. You will not regret it.I bought my New Zero turn here a few years ago, and I love it!

My experience with TSC stores, three in my area including this one, has so far been "homey" for lack of a better word. Staff have always been friendly and helpful. The store itself can at times be a little messy in a pleasantly organic way (partly because of the nature of much sold there - "Tractor Supply"). I'm usually buying heavy bulky items - wood fuel bricks, and there is always a staffer who quickly jumps in to help me bring the goods to the car and load them. Each one so far has graciously refused my offered tip. It's about as uncorporate a shopping experience I've ever had at a chain store.

Got lucky as heck. Stopped by to see if there are any good shirts on sale. Everything was clearance plus 50% I was getting really nice flannel shirts for 7.50 I got a pair of wolverine $130 work boots for $25
