The store is loaded with great management and quality itemsEach department is professionally run and efficient. Especially in that everything is so personalized. Bakery butcher fish deli it is clean organized and super stocked with all your needs with excellent sales and savings. Awards/ coupons for holiday specials turkeys hams and more. Bathrooms and motor carts you can drive when shopping good will box salvation army employees with special needs is so awesome!!! Really a community commented food bank for all to purchase.

This is not a good grocery store. This store went through a renovation relatively recently, but you can’t tell now. There are loose floor tiles and is overall need of a deep cleaning. The bakery runs out of store baked bread often. The produce is absolutely terrible. I’ve found rotting peppers on the shelf and moldy strawberries in the package. The shallot selection is often soft and moldy. It’s almost as if the produce is purchased because it’s about to be thrown away, and passed off as fresh. I purchased swiss cheese around the holiday and found it moldy after opening it. The aisles often contain too many cardboard displays making it difficult to negotiate. I needed distilled water and there was none in the store. There is also an overabundance of the Bowl & Basket store brand while many name brands seem to have been phased out. Unfortunately there isn’t another grocery store in Chester, you have to go to Middletown, Warwick, Monroe or Washingtonville so this store gets to be mediocre to bad, and get away with it.

This is my go to store. Great produce, bakery, and deli. Great people but the treasure of this store is the specialty cheese guy. Great knowledge and fantastic wit. He knows pairings and pate with every cheese you could imagine.

The store was large with a good variety of food. I brought some fish and cooked food, and both were delicious. I easily find all the items I need. The staff was helpful and friendly.

I've been shopping at this store since the 90s. Always clean & well-organized. Most staff are friendly & helpful. I was impressed with how dedicated the staff was to continue to come to work through the rough & scary Covid time.

This is a huge store and was super clean. Shelves were fully stocked. I reviewed their flyer closely and didn't find any mind blowing sales. Also virtual coupons are not for older people like me, so I paid full price for a couple of sale items. Also in produce section I didn't see any locally grown signs ? I come from PA and we have tons of local produce already in our supermarket. ShopRite could do better.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Some produce items that I wanted were a bit old, but most of the items were fresh. I like the new deli ordering kiosks, but the wait time was 25 minutes so I had to cancel the order. They do have prepackaged deli meat, but they are larger than I'd typically want. Overall, the store was nice and I'd shop here again if I was in the area.

This is the second review I'm giving about this store's practices for asking for donations. My previous review addressed a situation where a paid employee was wheeling up yo me at the self-checkout asking me to donate to the good pantry. I am comfortable with a table on the walk out of the store, or a machine asking me if I'd like to donate. I am not comfortable seeing a paid employee asking for donations. It seems like a waste of company resources that on my opinion, if the corporation was genuinely passionate about funding whatever cause, they would donate their own profits (far beyond what customers have the means to contribute) and put employee efforts to giving customers an improved experience shopping in their store.Today, as I was walking out, the employee asking for donations said to a group of exiting customers, "IS ANYONE EVEN LISTENING TO WHAT I'M SAYING?" What an classless and passive aggressive thing to say that only would deter anyone from contributing. I think that there are much better practices to running a donations stand and still focusing on better business practices.The store often has what you might need, but this place can get pretty busy during rush hours or weekends except for certain times, so occasionally some things are out of stock. I frequent here often for groceries.

Surprised how unprofessional and disrespectful the deli gentleman treated myself and others when ordered out cold cuts.He literally didn’t speak to anyone while we were asking for our orders and even worse when we said thank you. Still nothing from the tall bald headed gentleman who then slammed my cold cuts on the counter with a heavy puff out his mouth.The other customers even laughed and said wow and looked at me with big eyes like they couldn’t believe what they just saw.I respectfully walked away and with a low tone said “He must really hate his job”.Spoke to the female manager who was apologetic and said she will have a talk with him. I then thanked her and told her that I will never go to that shop rite again and will let all my friends and family know not to buy from that shop rite again.No need to go spend my money where disrespect is what you receive when you ask for something or say thank you!!!Customer service is key to any business!!This man should not have a job with that attitude or personality!!!

This is the shop rite I enjoy going to their customer service is above and beyond.Ms Laura has such a pleasant spirit and Miss Mary. I do hope management knows they have awesome work ethic.It's not a day I have been here and someone wasn't willing to help me in a cheerful spirit.I don't find everything I need by myself but when I ask for help it is given with a smile.Always clean always open for my needs

This review is for the bakery. After dinner at home we drive to Goshen Diner for dessert, specifically cheesecake, because google said they were open. Well, they were closed, so we went to ShopRite.In their case they must’ve had 10 options for different flavors of Junior’s Cheesecake, plus many other kinds of cake slices, from chocolate to coconut.We were able to select something for everyone, and when we ate it at home, each dessert was fresh and delicious!For $5.99, these were restaurant quality desserts. Way to go, ShopRite!

One of the cleanest and staff friendly grocery store I have shopped at. The best customer service during checkout that I have experience. The customer service representative by the name of Natalee helped me not only scan my produce but also retrieved me a large bag of ice from the other side of the store. I just found my favorite place shop for my groceries thanks to the staff of ShopRite

Not a happy customer with the Chester Shoprite. I purchased 1 lb of the 16 to 20 jumbo shrimps and when I counted at home I got 36 shrimps! Some of the shrimps were smaller than my pinky. Next day I went back to buy 2 dozens of clams of which the help gave me 22. I told her what she gave me it's not 2 dozens and without recounting it again, she put 2 more in there along with an attitude. So she knew exactly what she gave me the first time. When I got home, 3 of the clams were broken in half! Unprofessional, poor quality and a big scam. Be aware neighbors.

On 24 May 2022 I visited this store as I always do. The store has a great selection of food and is fairly clean. Yet, there is a extremly rude and unprofessional woman that works their deli counter. It makes you no want to shop there. It is sad because the night crew at this store is amazing. You would think it would be the opposite.

Shop from home at this location is a joke. Every single time I try to do the in store pick up they claim several of the simplest things they are out of stock, I go inside the store and of course there are multiples of the things they claim there were none of. The people they have working there just lie so they don’t have to do their jobs and can just milk the clock to get paid. Truly a shame such a large amount of people are putting less than the minimum required effort, even more disappointing those managing them are doing an even poorer job. If I owned this location I would seriously reconsider my staff

I was very surprised. This was a re-grand opening . The store is very clean, all the shelves are fully stocked. The store people are very nice and helpful. There is plenty of parking. They do have people at the check out and they all so have self check out.The shopping experience was really very nice.

This place is the Best to shop at for your grocery needs. Workers are polite. Managers are always walking around and keeping their store up to par. I like seeing that they communicate with their workers, as well as, the customers. JOB WELL DONE!! For this Shoprite. They really know how to interact with everyone. They keep it clean and always stocked. If you can't find it they will 😊

The cell phone signal in this store doesn’t even exist. When I first moved to Chester I always had issues using my phone in this store but it seems to have gotten worse. God forbid there is an emergency customers would have a hard time calling 911 because there is no cellphone signal as soon as you walk in. I do instacart and can no longer take orders from this store because my internet does not work and they do not have working Wi-Fi. I spoke to the manager who did not have much to say and did not seem that concerned. As mentioned in someone else’s review the meat department and dairy department need to be cleaned and it seems they have this issue in a few other ShopRite in the area as well.
