My Dad talked this place up that's in the middle of nowhere that he discovered driving by and he saw a sign that said beer. We walked into a tiny place with no frills, which was very cozy and welcoming. We didn't feel like the outsiders when there was only a few people inside , but several people followed shortly after. We enjoyed both of the stouts and the Viking Ale, but we think the top choice was the Jolie Christmas Ale. It was flavorful and festive. Fun and quiet place to hang out with friends with entertainment offered on Saturdays. Forgive the cruidity of the restroom pic, but I couldn't resist. Never saw anything like it before.

Best beer in the area!!! Don't pass up the chance to meet with the owners and have some wonderful drinks. We had the Gruit Ale and Blueberry Heff and enjoyed them both so much that we brought home 32 oz. growlers of each! Such a friendly and inviting atmosphere!!

Been driving past the sign on NY Rte 22 for years, finally stopping by this evening. Lots of great beers on tap: flights or pints available as a guitarist filled the space with music tonight. Growlers available in either 32 or 64 oz size, and Nine Pin Cider for the non beer drinker. They have been around for 7 years and will have something to suit your fancy. I particularly enjoyed the Coffee Oatmeal Stout and Mostly Mosaic session ipa. Food available in their great space for a relaxing visit.

A tale of two... feelings. On one hand, this place is a forested mountain oasis. The feeling of being here is awesome... out of the back roads, amongst the trees, sprouts a wooden building with hops as guests. Unique and savory. The interior is full of close-knit family. A place to stay when the weather is cold and snowy. On the other, the product, the beer, was disappointing. We got two flights and liked maybe 3 of the 8 we tried. I love unique flavors, but I also like the beer I drink to be of a style; it's nice to have a baseline to expect. Many beer didn't taste at all like the style. Stick with the stock NEIPA and Pale Ale and enjoy the vibe of drinking beers in the middle of nowhere.Came during Fall with fine enough weather and leaves.

Up on the mountain and in the woods, the Beer Diviner is an incredible spot worth the trek. The beers are all awesome, the local crowd is friendly and wholesome, and the vibe is great. The wood fired pizza is icing on the cake. Great people, great food, great beer, great spot

Wow what a great find. Beer is fantastic! I will put this up with any craft beer in New York's 460+ craft breweries. I especially like the MVP. Now to the Pizza. This was the best or certainly one of the best pizzas I have eaten Sourdough pizza cooked perfectly. I'll be back and I sincerely wish success to this establishment. I highly recommend.

This place is a gem. I’ll add more photos on my next visit.Jonathan is super nice and you can talk to him in French, talk to him about Burkina Fasso and soccer!Beer selection is pretty nice, there’s one for every taste. Live music. Great environment, big enough parking. We were there for a private party, so it might be a little different, but I will report if it is.Highly recommended!

I couldn’t love this place more! The beer is incredible and the spinach and feta pie was out of this world. But nothing beats the staff! We were so into our conversations that we almost missed our concert that evening at tanglewood.

Hidden Gem. This place is almost surreal. Nestled snuggly at the foot of the Grafton plateau, looking out over the Taconic range it's the oldest farm brewery in New York! Their signature Gruit Ale is something to be experienced. And there is a Double dry hopped imperial IPA that might just knock your socks off 😁

Small, cozy, relaxed environment with an outdoor fireplace and seating. The tall plants growing up the structures out front are the hops for the beer.

Great local microbrewery! Good selection for such a small scale, very unique selection, and each beer was delicious. Definitely worth a stop if you are driving by.

Jon is an amazing and talented brewer. The place is a bit off the beaten path and worth the drive. Great beers on tap, the brown and hazy were terrific. Customers friendly on behalf on Jon. A band was playing, place was packed by locals. Inside is a small place and very cozy! Fireplace and firepit out back, Jon personally lit it for us. Highly recommend.

Stopped by twice while camping in Cherry Plain. Loved the craft beer and talking to the knowledgeable and friendly owner. Pesto goat cheese pizza was fantastic and we even bought wonderful local eggs in recycled containers once we had room in our camp cooler. Love the sweet dog too.

The Beer Diviner is out of the way, but well worth the trip! Nice scenic drive to get there, wonderful selection of beer brewed on site, and enough of a food selection to fill in the corners.Music on Saturday nights, lots of outside seating for the COVID conscious. Patrons are all there because they like the beer and have made the trip to find it, so it’s an interesting mix of people.Highly recommended!

We came across this place- this unique place- because of the Capital District Craft Beverage Trail, and it was one of two or three that I thought "I am bringing my daughter here" (I raised her right- she knows beer). It is a part of the deep woods where it lives, the Diviner himself is a fellow former professor, and the beer is superb (thanks for not doing 60% IPAs ...). It is off the regular roads you might travel, but go. And go back.

Rustic brewery set in rural upstate NY. Low key vibe, great beer, kids and dogs welcome. Try the pizza or homemade sausage and cheese plate, excellent.

The Beer Diviner is a quaint place dropped in the woods of Cherry Plain NY and following a GPS route took much too long to get there...but it was worth it and the ride back home was made much simpler from the staff's directions...The brewery's home is a building and bar of rough hewn wood...a couple of tables with mismatched chairs...my kind of place...it is about the brews and not about style to me...the brewing magic is made on a small brewing system that was out in the open to see right behind the L shaped bar...the pub area is very rustic and it was manned by a friendly beertender along with the owner...They have a kitchen which I did not take advantage of...but they offered pizzas..burgers...soups and they also sold mushrooms by the pound...There were ten brew taps for flights or pints plus they had growler fills and cans available...the brew that stood out most to me was the Gruit...made from an ancient recipe and process using no hops...all of the other brews were flavorful...served at the right temperature and made for an enjoyable pair of tasting flights...Take the scenic drive from Albany or where ever you are and give them a try...
