I enjoy the personal attention I receive at Young's General Store. They often have just what I came in for and in addition I generally also pick up something else I needed but forget to put on my list. The store has a real hometown feel to it and that's something that's hard to find these days. They are great on the phone or in person, so I try to give them the business whenever I can. I prefer to spend my money at local business rather than the big box stores. I'd say " Give them a try" I believe you'll see just what I'm talking about.

On the morning of 5/24/23 my father stopped into get treats for his dog. When he went back out to his truck, he noticed smoke coming under the hood of his truck. He opened the hood and there were flames shooting out of the engine. The older gentleman working there called for a fire extinguisher immediately. They got the fire out and the truck and my father are both fine. Thank you so very much for going above and beyond and helping him..

Went there for rabbit food. Not unexpectedly, they didn't have a large selection. However, the staff was friendly and helpful. Would go there again for hardware needs.

Friendly, helpful people, good service! I can walk around Lowe's for 10 minutes before I can find someone to help or answer a question but at Young's, as soon as I walked in someone was there asking if he could help, showed me where the part was and helped put it together! Great people and a fair price.

Young's has knowledgeable and friendly employees and a great selection of tools and hardware. I have been shopping there since they opened and I don't think I've ever left disappointed. They have a great selection of pet food also which usually saves me a stop. They are happy to carry out heavy items to your car...who offers that anymore? Great all around local hardware store! #shoplocal

Nice country family owned feed store. Very friendly people. Participate in Ace Hardware. Use card and receive $ coupons in mail. I purchase a lot of bird seed there for wild birds and my African Gray. Nice selection of high quality dog food and toys also. Green houses in summer for diy vegetable gardens.

all personnel are very nice and cordial. Eden seems to know more than anyone else as far as food for different animals which has proved to be invaluable to me. You also have many different foods that I cannot get closer to my home.I hope you start to carry a bit more of exotic animal foods and different brands in the future. It would be good if more of your staff new the different food that you carry and try to carry a few more exotics.good Luck to a wonderful business.

It's a great place to shop for bird feed. Customer service is good. However, a lot of items are overly priced. If you buy a trimmer, lawn mower or chain saw and it breaks down, you have to take it somewhere else to get it repaired. When buying baby chicks from them, beware, they may have a disease. I purchased 16 baby roasters, and everyone of them died. A waste of money. Never again, and who in their right mind would pay over $ 100 for a chicken coop? The chicken coops here, sell over $1000. Some of us work hard for our money, I'd never pay $1000 for a chicken coop. Go to You Tube and click on Beckys Homestead. She lives a simple life with no frills. She will show you how to build a chicken coop for under $100

It's a small store, so you can't expect them to have everything. One thing you can expect is great service! Both times I went, the employees were extremely helpful, nice, and seemed happy to help me.-1 star because it's so small and they didn't carry things I needed.

I love Youngs but if you are going to change your hours, you need to change it on your website. I checked before I drove here and it said 6 pm but you changed to 5. Not a happy camper at the moment

The staff are always willing to help with things you are looking for. They are knowledgeable and friendly. If something is not in stock and can be ordered, they work with customers to make sure they get what they wanted.

Good, old-fashioned "mom & pop" type of hardware store, where you deal with the actual proprietor and a set bunch of workers, unlike at those impersonal, big-box hardware stores. A surprisingly good assortment of items can be found here, too.

My absolute favorite place in all of Catskill. Quality bulbs, seeds and everything else dear to a gardener's heart - amazingly friendly and knowledgeable people - and the astonishing thing, the prices are lower than WalMart and Lowes. Who knew?

Youngs is a great general store! I can get dog food and supplies, bird seed and feeders, canning supplies, hand cream and lip balm, potted flowers, all sorts of things I need in one store! The staff in catskill (i dont frequent the prattsville location enough to know the staff there)are very friendly and helpful always! I even left there today with a wood pallet in mint condition for $2!! I have shopped both of there locations, catskill and prattsville and each store is wonderfully unique in it's own way! I highly recommend Youngs General Store!!!!

Got there right before closing to purchase a 100lb propane tank and get it filled as well as fittings to adapt to what I needed but the staff never rushed me and was extremely helpful and accommodating !!!
