Check your deli meat if you buy any, several times I've gotten home to put it in the fridge only to find it was spoiled, slimey with white/yellowish color coating it. Or instead of the ham being a pink color it was gray, all 2 pounds of it. I was told that is normal. So as I stood there waiting g for a new roll of ham to be opened, I was looking at expiration dates on the rest of the meats and found 1 that was 4 Months passed expiration brand new. At this point I said to myself in done here, I now go to wegmans or to provisions in bath.

Canisteo shurefine is a good full service grocery store with a deli & bakery combo. Prices are good & food quality is excellent! Staff was very friendly and professional.

Prices are high, many times it is hard for the small mom & pop store to keep items fresh & not out dated. Deli is good. Many of the employees need work on their customer service skills.

More American made and locally produced products than I have seen in any other major grocery store. Meat department is TOP notch. Their sausage is excellent. Great subs. Amazing balance between a pleasant, home town atmosphere, good selection, and pricing. Most Shurfine products are MADE (not just distributed) in the USA, are good quality, and are inexpensive. Owner supports our local community and operates with true integrity.

There are certain qualities you look for when you shop in a grocery store and Canisteo Shurfine checks the list for all of them! Their meat selection is second to none! The butchers there will cut you anything you ask faster than you can decide what sides you want to go with it, and the prices are amazing! Their freshly prepared sides and subs are equally as amazing and never a bad choice for a lunch or dinner on the go or after a long day at work! The knew owner has done a fantastic job at keeping the hometown feel while making sure to bring the best prices to the local residence! If it wasn't for Shurfine we would have to drive clear to Hornell for our meats and produce! The staff is always attentive and friendly as well which makes each trip a pleasure!

Prices are a bit high when compared to supermarkets, but that is to be expected from small town grocery store. Deli is one of the best around with reasonable prices and great selection. Staff is always nice and helpful. Perfect example of a nice small town grocery store.

For a small town store they are good. They have markdowns regularly on foods, and they are a bargain. Their selection of products is good and they are reasonable with prices. Only down side, their produce department could be larger, and not so expensive. Other than that, great place to grocery shop.

It's ok corners of the store could be cleaner but it's convenient when you don't want to go to Hornell. Grandfather used to own it as the Big M would have it better organized.

It's the general grocery store. Except they give FREE coffe on sundays, have a pastry shelf/case with good doughnuts and awesome cookies, a nice deli, and overall just a awsome store. The staff are nice, we love this place. (They somewhat recently added a small hardware section too!)

Deli employees have no motivation to please customers. They would rather pretend to clean rather than wait on customers. Then they look at each other and wonder which one will break down first to wait on the customer.
