Store is a mess looks worse than some I've seen in other locations. Needs a complete overhaul or a redo of products rearranged in location by modular integrity and shelf availability . Employees are good though but this is a bad all around store. Coming from 16 years in retail and customer service support this is by far capable of so much more potential and can be a great competitor without using too much capital to achieve.

The Dollar General is great. They almost always have some items that you won't find in any of the big box stores or anywhere else for that matter. Most items are not of the highest quality but if you manage your expectations, you'll leave happy.

They're okay. The employees seemed to be pretty friendly. A lot of items don't have any prices clearance section mostly but how can you buy something when you don't know what the price is unless you bring up to the counter.

Has anyone noticed that the prices are higher then Walmart. Lines are getting longer. Stores are getting dirtier and associates are getting ruder. Lack of hours maybe but I am a retail manager and I know that the businesses that are open are getting great sales. So they can afford the extra payroll to clean up the store make their associates happier and cut down the lines. This is no just for this location. I have been in multiple stores same thing.

Lol they can't even activate a prepaid card or gift card so i dont think shopping here is recommended for anyone. Stores dirty, lines are long, associates are beyond rude and i understand it since its usually only ever a maximum of 3 in the store at all times. Yeah this dollar general and the one in oneida are jokes

Store is always clean and organized. Staff is helpful. Has food-chips, snacks, soda, cereal, coffee, pasta, sauce.... There's plenty more, and a small section of refrigerated and frozen food. There's cleaning supplies, pet food, and accessories, toiletries, storage, automotive, clothing, makeup, hair care, skincare, makeup. Cellphones, gift cards, special occasion cards, holiday items, etc.

always pleasant cashiers, inexpensive merchandise... a little of this and a little of that.... what you need in a pinch and you do not want to shop a big retail store like Walmart for... I also find made in America carpets there which makes me very happy...

One of my favorite places to go shopping, I'd much rather spend my money here then Walmart, some of their stuff is cheaply made but a lot of the deals are great, I just wish they'd stop asking me to donate my change to literacy, which I don't mind doing a lot of the time.

Needs improvement. Very dirty..when you walk in the place it smells. The entrance in doorway rugs are very dirty discusten! Always boxes on floor. Not organized at all. Poor management! Never can keep help in that place.

Good customer service, the employees are all friendly from what I've seen. Nice selection of stock with reasonable and sometimes flat out great prices!

I go there at least once a week.Some times the shelves are not stocked, or items are in the wrong spot, but overall not a bad spot to shop.

There is only one employee that is pleasant when I have shopped there. Store is cluttered, cannot always find what you might be looking for.

The clothing area may be smaller in the Canastota Dollar General than the Chittenango one, but it is much easier to browse.i get frustrated trying to look at the clothes in Chittenango DG. They are too packed and awkward to see

They need a bigger store, too much stock in aisles makes it difficult to maneuver through the store otherwise they have a wide variety of things including food and beverages but no alcohol at discount prices
