I do love taking my dogs in for grooming. Recently I have been encouraged non stop when I am in the store to sign up for the premium vital care membership. I was told the benefits included free/reimbursed visits to the vet and was even told that nail trims end up free under the membership. I only go to this store to get their nails trimmed so I thought I'd be saving $20-60 every month on this expense. So I signed up only to find out that nail trims are only 20% off, a whopping $4 savings. Taking two dogs in multiple times a month just to save $4 each time is hardly worth it. Then I called the premier helpline to find out that the closest participating vet is in Long Island or New Jersey, at least 6 hours from home. So the benefit I could now receive is a $20 coupon to use at the store. There is literally no benefit to signing up for this plan. AND it is a one year commitment to pay for with no way out. I just spent 35 minutes on the phone being told to try this benefit to save money, or maybe this one. I can guarantee that the only way I'm "saving" any money is to spend way more than I'm currently able to afford. I am super disappointed and when this year is up I think I'll also just find a different groomer.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. The petco in canandaigua is the absolute worst place to take any animal to get groomed. First of all they cancelled 3 times on me. After the second time I hadn’t been back in a couple of years. I decided to give them another try. Why? I’m not sure. So this am they cancelled one of my dogs but not the other one. I dropped her off and then got a call a little after saying they couldn’t finish grooming my dog because she was severely matted. She was not that bad. So here I go back to the store to sign a paper for her to finish grooming with the Matt’s. Luckily I was still around the corner at the store. I go back in and they are trying to shame me saying the dog is in very bad condition (she’s not) I’ve never had any groomer have a problem with her in the 8 years she’s been getting groomed. It comes down to the fact that there are all new groomers who have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Speaking to the manager at the store was no help she was useless. They also cancelled the appointment they rescheduled for my other dog because I was upset that I was having all these issues with them. Truthfully I was going to cancel that appointment any way because this store is completely inept in all departments. Petco should be embarrassed that this is how this store runs and handles things.

I always have a fine experience at Petco. This time, we stocked up on hamster supplies and brought home a new family member. The store usually has what I am looking for for cats, small mammals, and fish. We also have hermit crabs, and it is hit or miss for supplies for those.Overall, I have found the staff attentive and friendly at the Canandaigua Petco, and the store clean and well stocked.

This was a great stop for my puppy. He meet several new people and a few new dogs. When socialization is so important, it's nice to have a place beside the park where your pet can experience new things. The staff was also friendly and had several helpful recommendations.

My friend had 3 Pomeranians groomed. They did a phenomenal job. I worked as a groomer when I was younger so I can appreciate how much work they had to do. It was a little on the expensive side but great job guys.

Store has "used" and clean carts in separate areas, a sanitation station and isle directionals. All employees I saw were masked. Had to ask for help finding one item and reaching another, both employees were super kind. Found everything I needed for a new pet hamster. I do have to say that the bedding was found online for $8 less. Otherwise a good experience.

I made a purchase at this store as a first-time customer and signed up for the Vital Care Premier program as the cashier/sales rep said I would get a nice discount for signing up. They also told me it was a monthly membership and that I could cancel at any time. What I found out a week later was that this was a year-long commitment that could NOT be canceled and my card would be charged every month for an entire year. I felt duped. I had to contact a customer service phone number where they were most unhelpful. Very disappointed in my experience and will not likely be returning to this store.

Always a great experience! We have had concerns in the past and once we speak up, the team is quick to correct issues. Makes it so easy to be loyal to a company who cares about your extended family as you do. Plus, who would t love a place you could bring in your bearded dragon?

0 Stars! Grooming dept unprofessional & worst customer service! Scheduled in person for Fri. Process of taking my dog back for grooming in basic convo I said she has itchy ears for allergies & the vet said to give Benadryl. They said we can't take her. Reschedule for Sunday but don't give it before appt. Sunday.. denied again because her ears were a little red. No change in how my dog looked or acted. Awful experience! Never again will I go there! Spreading the word and going to the top mgt!!! Also they said they didn't know the dog commands because the trainer left. If you are grooming service you should know the basic dog commands!!! Awful, incompetent people working at Petco in Canandaigua New York!

Fish Salesman was opinionated and wouldn't let me buy what I wanted. Finally got 3 fish, but they died on my 20 min drive. Turned around and drove 20 min back to exchange. They died before morning. Drove 20 min there again to exchange and was able to finally buy what I wanted. If they die again I will not be buying fish there and will let everyone know about my experience

Made an appointment for my dog to be bathed. They called me day of to ask if I could bring him an hour sooner but I couldn’t. When I got there, they seemed to be looking for a reason not to see him. The woman repeatedly grabbed his genital area despite him whining and then said he “snapped” at her when he turned his head and whined. This dog doesn’t have a mean bone in his body but maybe I dodged a bullet. I will never bring a pet there again.

Always have a great experience here. Staff is very helpful. We also use grooming services and Devon has been fantastic. He is some kind of animal whisperer, our dog gives him kisses through much of the process. Will keep coming back.

The grooming salon does a fantastic job with all the of my dogs. It didn't matter rather it is the Samoyed with all the fur or the bulldog with all the wrinkles, they always do a fantastic job.

Arrived with my dog for a grooming appointment was told that they couldn’t take her even though the appointment had been scheduled for three weeks. Then she informed me I was LUCKY to have gotten any appointment at all. Did not feel comfortable leaving my dog with them at all. Even though I left a phone and email for them to contact me they claimed to have been calling my number, which they then said they didn’t have, to say that even though the appointment was for 4:30-6 and they close at 6 they were calling to say they couldn’t take her. Even if this was an online booking appointment the staff member decided when we walked in she didn’t want to do the appointment. Absolutely atrocious. Would not feel comfortable having my dog’s hair groomed if this is how they treat their human customers!

Always has what I need for my kittens. Amazing prices, and really helpful staff. They also sometimes have a forever friend up for adoption!! They always have fun toys , cat trees and other comfy cat beds for your furry friends. I could get lost in there for hours! Check it out!!

We have recently started a 40 gallon freshwater tank. We were having some issues with the behavior of our fish, so we went in looking to get some supplies to fix the problem. Al offered us help immediately and was honest in his recommendations. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, a great experience.
