Very happy with our stay! A quick trip from Pennsylvania but still felt like a get away. Our house manager was so friendly and took the best care pampering and spoiling us with a room upgrade, friendly hospitality and the best breakfast with local farm fresh groceries. The house is so cozy and comfortable with lots of space. Big porches and outdoor firepit for relaxing. The location was right near all the shops and restaurants. A nice summer walk or a quick ride to the center of town. There is parking in town right in the middle. We will definitely be back and bring our friends!

If you’re looking for a relaxing, over-the-top gracious stay with amenities such as an old-fashioned kitchen with fresh fruit, fresh cookies for your midnight snack, coffee/tea all day and night, screened-in back porch, cozy fire pit w s’mores included….the list of thoughtful details goes on. Hydrangeas line the back porch as you sip your morning coffee and enjoy the scenery and sounds of a true getaway stay.You’ll find comfy bedding, updated bathroom, lovely shared sitting rooms and most importantly, a host (Deb) who needs to be recognized for her genuine interest in the guests’ comfort and enjoyment of their stay. Curbside appeal? It’s all part of the magic staying at Nine River Road. After this experience, I’ll have a hard time booking a reservation at one of those name-brand hotels.

We had a lovely one night stay at Nine River Road. It’s such a thoughtful property. The communal places include a gorgeous fireplace, cozy sitting areas, a big bright kitchen, and a lovely back porch. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. What made this place so special is the personal touch from the house manager, Roisin. Before we arrived, Roisin made sure to connect with us so we had all the relevant details for our stay, she greeted us when we arrived and gave us great recommendations for dinner. She made us an incredibly delicious breakfast the next morning and we ended up chatting with her for awhile - we so enjoyed meeting her and she really made our stay a special one. This is a gem of a property, and Callicoon is our new favorite charming, quaint town.

Had a wonderful stay at Nine River Road! Warmest welcome (kudos for warm donuts!) and hospitality from Roisin who is a gem! She is so helpful, not intrusive and so lovely we feel like we made a new friend! We have been coming to this area for decades and finding this hidden gem is a gift! The walk into town is a pleasure as are the quaint shops/restaurants/bars etc. to enjoy! The rooms are so comfortable as are the living spaces with a cozy fireplace, games and lots of places to relax and unwind. And, outside is a wonderful fire pit to enjoy s’mores right along the Delaware river! Perfect weekend stay! Can’t wait to come back!

Quaint beautiful place with comfy pillows and beds. Very clean, nice sitting rooms and good view from the screened in porch. Unfortunately we are unable to take advantage of the included breakfast because we had to leave early. Just one more note, it is a little off the beaten path but that's the price you have to pay if you want peace and tranquility.

We had the most amazing stay at 9 River Road. A beautiful and peaceful property just off the main street in Calicoon NY. We had a spacious King Size Bedroom with beautiful Claw foot tub. The ambience of the B&B is incredible - Warm and inviting. But the best part of our stay by far was the B&B's host Roisin. Roisin was warm and welcoming and truly went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. She was the perfect balance of host, seeing to our needs but also making sure she gave our group its own space to enjoy the weekend. We loved actually our time with her and enjoyed our multiple conversations over the course of the weekend. Even though we've been going to this area for years, she still managed to give us new ideas and places to visit for the weekend. We're already discussing our next trip and going back and visiting our new friend Roisin! You should make sure to put 9 River Road on your list to visit when going upstate for a long weekend!

This spacious BnB was tucked away in the quaint town of Callicoon. Everything is within walking distance (which my husband and I appreciated). The BnB had multiple nooks and crannies for lounging, and we enjoyed these spaces with cups of tea and coffee, playing board games, and chatting. The indoor wood stove and outdoor firepit were a real treat. Our room, although a bit chilly, had everything we needed (including some lovely soaps!). The drive to hiking spots and Phoenicia/Woodstock was about 1/1.5 hours, but we didn't mind since the drive was so stunning. Sonya, the innkeeper, was helpful and friendly. We can't wait to stay again!

This bed and breakfast is spectacular. The details that has been put into the stay are unmatchable. I’m not even exaggerating.They have s’mores packets with sticks, breakfast baskets filled with charcuterie, homemade bread/yogurt/waffle mix, etc. They have binoculars for bird watching, snow shoes, a fire pit, a fireplace, wood, snacks, a hot chocolate and tea bar, etc. I can go on forever.For entertainment, they have board games, two large living rooms filled with quirky things, books, record player, they will even give you the things you need to construct a fort in your room for a romantic weekend!It’s all in the details.Sonya, the inn keeper is also very hospitable and sweet. The rooms are very clean, spacious, the beds are European style with one comforter and very cozy. Great water pressure.Backyard is romantic, has a fire pit, plenty of chairs.It’s also centrally located in town where you can walk around and get food.Look out for all the notes in the house too!I’ll be coming back :)

From the moment we arrived at Nine River Road, Roisin made us feel like we were at home. We were welcomed with a roaring fire, warm fresh donuts and delicious local coffee. The bonus is that you can walk into town and no one has to drive! We have been coming up to the area since we were kids at summer camp and know the region quite well. Roisin told us about some new places to try and they were wonderful. Nine River Road was one of the best places that we have stayed in the area. The Inn is lovely and the location is fantastic and Roisin is fabulous. We can't wait to go back!!

What a fabulous place to stay in Callicoon! We were in Callicoon for a wedding and several guests, including myself, spent the weekend here as recommended by the happy couple. It was so much fun getting to chat with other wedding guests over breakfast and enjoy the beautiful house. The room was comfy. There were numerous cute touches, including s'mores kits, building a fire kits, board games, and more! The breakfast they prepared was good, however, it could be more vegan friendly. But I made it work nonetheless. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Beautiful inn located on the water. We had car trouble and had to stay in Callicoon last minute. We stumbled on Nine River Road and luckily they had a room available. Breakfast was delicious and Sonya was incredibly helpful and kind. Very hospitable! What started as an emergency situation quickly turned in a lovely stay because of Nine River Road! Would definitely recommend. From board games, a fire stove indoors, beautiful outdoor spot with fire pit, binoculars for bird watching to little s’mores packages - they thought of everything that would make a stay in the Catskills fantastic.

We really enjoyed our stay at Nine River Road - we just wish we could have stayed for longer! The property is lovely... a nice big yard to hang in, and even dip one's feet in the river. The rooms are clean and well appointed. Even better, the inn is located on a quiet street, yet it's walking distance to the center of Callicoon, so it was super easy to pick up food, drinks, etc. Jenn was a fantastic host and made us feel very welcomed -- and she upgraded our room! We were a bit anxious about our first post-COVID hotel stay, but we couldn't have felt more safe and comfortable. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Our time at 9 River Road was absolutely amazing. It was the first weekend opened, after the long shut down because of the pandemic. The contactless check-in went really smooth and we've got an upgrade with no extra charge.We really enjoyed the welcome cookie and rose wine.The location is fantastic, it's the town center, walking distance from every restaurant and bar. There is a perfect backyard with access to the river and a lovely terrace to get breakfast.They offered getaway programs, like alpaca farm visit(must do), hikes, restaurants and the main reason we choose this place is because of the canoe rental options at a near by location.If I have to say any negatives is the loud bird chirping that comes through the window in the am ;)

My boyfriend and I came in from NYC for his birthday weekend and the caretaker, Jenn, was incredibly sweet and made sure it was a great experience for us. The room was awesome (ground floor king with fireplace) but the special touches were what made the experience so memorable for us -- cookies and cider in the kitchen when we arrived, thoughtful details in the decor, delicious breakfast every morning, local recommendations in the welcome email, a special birthday treat for my boyfriend... the list goes on. Parking was easy and there were a few cute bars/restaurants within walking distance. Can't wait to come back and visit in warmer weather!

Such a great little getaway in a town that has no cell service, consider this your place to unwind. Community living rooms were great to chat with other guests, breakfast was continental and community style which was super fun.All the rooms seem to have a different layout but all have the same amenities. King size bed, fantastic toiletries. The house is old so you can here others come and go but its very benign as theres only 9 or so rooms in the house.Can't recommend enough for an affordable, yet luxurious weekend away from it all. The town is small, but seems theres enough to do for a few days!

I am an autistic person with severe social anxiety who often struggles when traveling to new places and meeting new people. I was in town on stressful business- Realty in fact- and was persistently overwhelmed throughout the duration of my trip.In saying goodbye to Róisín the innkeeper on my third and final day of stay, I felt like I lost family. In stepping away from the 9 River Road inn, I left a home truer than my own. If I never return I will consider it one of the greater shortcomings of my life. I have never fallen so fast in love with a person or place without hardly noticing, simply for how unintrusive it all was. Not a single complaint.I'd upload some photos but I was engrossed in my surroundings the entire time and kept letting my phone go kaput. Whatever, maybe next time 🤷‍♂️Nearby activities: Amazing sunday farmers market- restricted to real artisan offerings. Couldn't attend but in catching the tail end it seemed neat.Safety: Town is sleepy and safe as can be, and there is no way your belongings would wander even when left in the common rooms.Walkability: Completely walkable town.Food & drinks: Town has plenty of excellent dining options and a well stocked bar open later than anything else. Local distillery makes excellent whisky.If you don't want to spend restaurant money, even the local shell gas station serves food better than what I can get out at home 😒Noteworthy details: Amazing firepit area out back with a path leading down to the river, as well as a surplus of firewood and smore packages available for guests to enjoy at their leisure. The coffee served at breakfast is to die for, and was always available in plenty with an assortment of fixings. Dietary restrictions are asked and embraced.

Excellent B&B if you ever find yourself in Callicoon. The hostess was very nice and attentive, breakfast was amazing (great coffee), and the hotel is in a very quaint and beautiful location. We enjoyed sitting out back in the Adirondack chairs and watching the deer nibble on plants along the riverside. Would definitely recommend!!

Spur of the moment get-away from New York City. We couldn't have happened upon a better retreat. A quick 2+ hour drive from Brooklyn, fresh backed cookies upon arrival, soothing music and woodsy scent in the air. The light in the shared spaces was peaceful and the furnishings stylish and comfy (wish we could've bought the couch). The innkeeper was pleasantly helpful and welcoming without being overly doting, and offered some spot-on recommendations for an afternoon exploring the surprisingly vibrant town. First time in Callicoon but will definitely be going back.
