If you're looking for a quiet getaway and like the mountains, this is a good option. My room was very comfortable. I loved the big shower and soaps in my 1st floor pool house room. I heard people in the hallway and upstairs but it was quieter than other hotels. The fireplace outside was cozy. Gym had just what I needed including a nice view. I felt safe here. The staff was great! So friendly. Get the hot chocolate - I could not stop drinking it. If you like a deserted location, then you'll like this location. Not much around unless you drive 15 minutes. But there is dining on-site which was yummy. No fridge in the room however if you planned on bringing perishables. 15 Upper Main St, Callicoon, NY 12723 is a cute little area. Check out the breweries. I stayed here two nights for a little reading getaway and that was plenty for relaxation and recovery. I also enjoyed reading on the couches in the lobby/cafe area.

Callicoon Hills is a beautiful and charming place.Ideal place for however wants to “unplug” from the frantic city life. The common areas and the rooms are carefully crafted and designed to offer a unique look and minimalist and elevated country feel. The staff is committed and always available to assist.Callicoon Hills has a beautiful barn by a private lake, ideal for events and weddings.

We loved our stay at Callicoon Hills so much and can't wait to visit again! It was a snowy, cozy weekend which was just what we were looking for in our getaway from NYC. We arrived late and we appreciated that there is a staff member at the check-in desk 24 hours who was warm and welcoming upon arrival. The property is absolutely beautiful - peaceful, clean, and well maintained with the coziest aesthetic and vibe! The food on-site was delicious and the overall atmosphere made us feel peaceful and at home. We will definitely be back!

I'm sure this hotel is lovely, but my review is specifically about their cancellation policy which is unfair and unsafe. We booked a room for New Years Eve, but unfortunately had to cancel because I contracted Covid-19 prior to New Years. Despite the fact that I had been in touch with them about this in the days prior, they refused to offer a refund or a credit towards a future booking. In fairness, they do state their cancellation policy when booking, but exceptions should be made for medical reasons. Collecting a profit while not fulfilling a service is callous enough as it is, but doing so because your customer is sick is even more so. Especially since they are free to book the room to someone else, thus potentially doubling their profit--a true win/win for the proprietors.Furthermore, this sort of policy asks customers to choose between throwing away hundreds of dollars or showing up to the hotel with a highly contagious disease, putting both customers and staff in harm's way. We made the right choice, but I doubt everyone will.In summary, my wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a nice NYE party and hotel stay--a rare luxury for us--but instead we lost $250 on top of being sick. Maybe most of this hotel's clientele can absorb that kind of loss, but we will be booking elsewhere with fairer, customer-friendly policies in the future and I suggest you do as well.On a another note, after initially refusing to refund the money that we paid for the party (roughly $350), they did agree to refund it, but only after I pointed out to them that nowhere on the website was a refund policy stated.Since they won't refund our money, I hope that they reconsider their policy that prioritizes profit over customer's well-being so others in the future won't have a similar experience.TL;DR: Don't book here if there's a chance you might get sick and you value your hard earned money.

My friend informed me that when she stayed there two years prior that the service was really bad. Unfortunately, that remained the same. We arrived late after a full day of driving and attending a festival. We were informed that there was likely no parking spot in the Pool House (where our room was) and pointed to a direction of where the car could be parked if not. There was no offer of helping with bags, getting us from the parking lot to the pool house with a golf cart (they existed on the platform) or really anything to be somewhat accommodating. They weren't welcoming. There was no "let us know if you need anything or have any questions" type service. The room I stayed in reminded me of an upgrade camp bunk. It was clean, good shower water pressure, great skincare/haircare products. Don't get why there's an open closet without a door. Loved that there was a white noise machine in the room although I wish I wasn't woken up simply by the neighbors talking WITH my noise machine on.The pool area is simple. The pool is massive. We got out and our feet were BLUE like the bottom of the pool. Can someone explain what that's about?!

I booked this hotel in hopes of having a nice relaxing getaway with my puppy. But the result was quite the opposite. When I first arrived to the hotel, there was construction being done all around the property without any warning and the noise of the construction persisted throughout our stay. The overall look of the resort was nothing like the pictures either due to the construction, there was dirt and dust everywhere.Additionally, the resorts in-house restaurant wasn’t exactly as expected. The menu was not the same as it was on the website, there were no real options for people who do not eat meat. I also brought my puppy along to dinner and was surprised to find that although it was a hot 80 degree day, there was no options for outdoor seating.Overall, the resort was not the best nor was it the worst, but walking in to all the construction and having that disturbance throughout my stay left a very bad taste for the trip. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Amazing food and really beautiful property. Stayed in the pool house and slept in the most comfortable bed ever. The bathroom layout was a bit odd but the room furniture is super cute. The walls are also quite thin so you can hear pretty much everything but I think they’re aware because of the sound machine by the bed. That was helpful for sure! Overall it was a perfect fall getaway and would def come back.

I’m a NY city wedding planner and I’ve executed 4 weddings at this venue. Each wedding went off without a hitch! The staff will really go the distance to ensure the wedding is a success. Having everyone staying onsite with plenty of activities and amenities to keep guests engaged is not easy to find in the Catskills. I highly recommend this venue and can’t wait to be back at work there again!

My favorite little gem, love to escape city and stay at Callicoon hills. Staff is super nice and have high standards of service, food is locally sourced. The food at the restaurant is amazing and fresh, they do seasonal menu and every time I come I try different dishes. You can grab a yoga mat go across the hotel to the pond and meditate in the morning, or just take a walk and enjoy the nature.Rooms are super clean and have everything you need.Love attention to details at this place as well. It’s my third time here and I know I’ll be coming back for sure.

For the right kind of outdoor adventurers, this place is perfect. Glamping adjacent, but at a distant but well-placed location, this hotel with different stay options (main house, pool house, etc.) also offers a surprisingly inventive and modern restaurant. Both my dinner and brunch were bright, flavorful, nuanced, and memorable. I can get bolognaise but usually it doesn't have rabbit, for example. The menu changes seasonally as well. The rooms don't offer TVs (remember you are not there to watch TV) and they will store your food for you behind the counter in the fridge downstairs. The front desk is open 24 hours, which personally I love. They also have a "gift shop," which is more like a local bazaar with some branded items, from artisans like perfume or lotion. At twilight, the offer little s'more packages and have a robust fire pit, but be careful the smoke. They are going through renovations currently, and adding new spaces like a gym. Also, affordable! This place is both up-and-coming and great already. It's not "luxury resort vibes," but also doesn't advertise as that. Also, pet-friendly and accesible outside of the main house at the other room areas. They also have a free afternoon cocktail! Lastly, service in the area can be spotty, but their wi-fi on property is robust.

The rooms are VERY small, but the bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in. Plus, the restaurant served wonderful food. Our only real complaint is that the hotel used a really nauseating scent in the halls that smelled like cheap cologne. Also, you should know that the environment is a bit chaotic. Lots of children running around and music playing. Of course there's nothing wrong with this, but if you're looking for a quiet get-away, this is not the place.

Where do I even start with Callicoon Hills? If I could give them a thousand out of five stars I would. My husband and I met the Callicoon team way back in February of 2020 while we were hunting for a wedding venue. Flash forward almost 3 years and we just got married there this past weekend. We had the absolute wedding of our dreams thanks to the team at Callicoon. From Jess and Eli to the Chef to the front desk and in house staff, it was INCREDIBLE from beginning to end. The food is amazing, the service and general vibe of the staff (from the management to the bartenders to the food service staff) is just everything you could want from a weekend in the Catskills, and the professionalism for a relatively new team is off the charts.I can't say enough amazing things about this place. It's forever a special place in our hearts and we will be back for our anniversary each year. We love you, Callicoon Hills!!!!!

I was born and raised in Sullivan County, and Callicoon Hills is such a hidden gem. The entire resort is so inviting and it truly lives up to its name “a friendly resort for nice people”. The property has a combination of old charm with modern amenities. My fiancé and I have stayed a number of times (with our dog!!) and sleep soundly. The staff is warm and inviting, as well as extremely accommodating. And if you can’t stay the night, definitely come for the food. Coming from a foodie, it is the best in the county and you can tell the Executive Chef knows exactly what he is doing. The entire menu is cooked to perfection, and we are always excited to try what is new and seasonal on the menu.Their drinks are some of the best I have ever had, and there is nothing I love more than drinking their frozen Aperol Spritz cocktail by their swimming pool. (IYKYK)Callicoon Hills is always involved in the community, hosting several events and dinners that are full of entertainment. My fiancé and I cannot wait to tie the knot in September at this one-of-a-kind location. Don’t sleep on this restaurant and stay!

Was a little disappointed in the accommodations. Stayed in the pool house, which I booked because of the pictures I liked online. The room ended up not looking like those photos. Bathroom was large but sparse with nowhere to put toiletries or items. Tub did not look like beautiful tiled shower in pictures that I was excited to use, instead it was just a one piece installed tub/shower unit along with the toilet being industrial with no lid. Bathroom sink was outside of bathroom and smaller than my Brooklyn apartment one that I was getting away from! Room also had no closet and the hooks on the wall were too low to hang any clothes because they would sit on the floor. That paired with no coffee table made no choice but to put all our things on the bench/seat which took away our seating area. The showers water also never got hot, which was a disappointment after coming back from hiking while we were staying there both nights. Just felt like a good ole' bait and switch from what I thought I was getting. That being said, the main lodging area was great, loved being able to hang out in there. And the breakfast coffee bar/cafe in the morning had great vibes and wonderful coffee, loved soaking up the morning there! The serene setting and rural-ness was perfect and I lived for the bonfire and s'mores every night! Shout-out to the weekend bartender too!

Wish I could give 10 stars. We had the best time at our stay at Callicoon Hills! The resort is beautiful with every detail considered. The staff was friendly, the vibe was fun and laid back. We brought our dog along for the weekend and she had a great time too! Food at the restaurant was delicious (awesome menu with good options) and cocktails were even better. Highly recommend this place, we can't wait to return!

The fellow who labeled this "quasi-glamping" was spot on. We had a wonderful time, but it's more of a dressed-up lodge than a resort.A few notes and suggestions:The property: is beautiful and well-maintained. My kids loved roaming from the pool to the game shed to the game room to the fire pit. The main house is beautiful with many nooks to relax, play games, read, etc.Poolhouse Rooms: are small and, as is increasingly the case in these times, force visitors to endure farmhouse sliding doors to the bathroom. These neither suppress noise nor, for that matter, open and close all that easily (there's no handle on the interior. Please fix this, somebody). All in all our room was very tastefully designed, but quite dim. Ironically, the light from the breezeway bleeds past the cheap pull down vinyl blinds at night, leaving the room fairly illuminated while sleeping. Curtains of some kind would be great. The pool: freezing. We picked this location largely for the pool but watched all weekend as groups of children excitedly ran into the pool and then quickly exited, shivering. This was labor day weekend, mind you, when a summer's worth of heat should have had some impact. My kids braved it for a bit, and the deck area was a fun hang, but be warned. Some heating element is needed.Services:The bar/cafe/coffee shop also doubles as the check in desk. At peak times (happy hour/check in) there's a wait. Could some kind of bar shed be placed in the pool on weekends? Oh, how I would have loved to order my Breadwinner IPA without shlepping across the property and waiting in line. I'll pay extra. Please.Restaurant: Delicious, beautiful, fantastic.Staff: So nice.Location: Pretty obscure. If you're mostly familiar with the Ulster county -Woodstock-Phoenicia area, as we were, this is not that. This is an area of working farms and lacks some of the charm of the former. One does need to drive to neighboring towns for restaurants and breweries although within 20 minutes there are excellent options.

[UPDATE] The location and design of the hotel are fantastic. And the staff is phenomenal. As the team figures things out you may expect a longer wait at the dining. The rooms are a bit loud with older thin walls but they now provide noice canceling machines. They currently do not provide room service unless upon special request due to the COVID protocols which originally had been frustrating before we understood this to be the case. So bare with them. The lounge area happens to be in the restaurant so you won’t be able to sit and enjoy the fireplace unless dining, though you can enjoy the outdoor fireplace. The staff, perks of great coffee and design are a major plus. I am rooting for the team at Callicoon Hills. Thank you for your thoughtful response!

We had a really great stay. The staff was friendly and attentive. The grounds are so peaceful and beautiful. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. And the room is tastefully decorated. My favorite spot was at the creek side across the street behind the barn. Wish we could stay longer!!

First off the facility is very cool, great rooms, outdoor pool, game room, free arcade games, ping pong, pool table, nice breakfast set up, pristine grounds, cool bar, etc. Incredible place for a visit, wedding, party for sure. For me, what makes Callicoon Hills 10 stars is its staff. The nicest and most accommodating staff I have come across anywhere in the world. There are 2 staff members that made our stay unforgettable, and that is Danny, who is always there to lent a helping hand, and Sarah, who is beyond helpful, informative and professional. Best of luck, we will be back.

Tiny but tasteful rooms and a fantastic restaurant. However, it's a chaotic quasi-glamping environment with lots of noise. Seems especially popular with millennials, their children, and their dogs. Though this part of the Catskills is quite beautiful, the hotel is kind of lodged in the middle of nowhere, although it's reasonably close to the Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center.

Super cute hotel in the middle of nowhere. It kind of feels like being at summer camp, but with less mosquitos. :)*The food is great and very reasonably priced (bucket of beers for $20, great snacks $5 each)*Pool is lovely, quiet, and filled with toys*The white noise machine in the room is the greatest idea ever, and managed to drown out the sounds of drunk people randomly singing alanis morisette around the fire pit late last night*The staff is all super friendly*The rooms are clean, very functional, and well decoratedA few things that would be nice…*Outdoor shower near the pool*Quiet hours - love that people are having fun, but we came out for the quiet, not the late night impromptu songfests*Mini fridge, coolers, etc. If you are in the Ridge Rooms, you are a hike from the main area and it would be nice to be able to keep some cold drinks on hand in the room*Curtain in the bathroom window.*More stable wifiAll in all, this place was really great and reasonably priced. Hoping to make it back again soon!

The food was delicious. The wait staff could use some traing and maybe requiring a dress code would be appropriate for the high end atmosphere you are aiming for. The venue was beautiful. Thank you for coming to Callicoon Center.
