Easily the best store in all of Greene County.The owner is knowledgeable and actually present. You can tell he takes pride in his store.Theres something special about walking in and being greeted by the owner and being called by your 1st name.The fact you get to go in and see a super friendly pup is always a bonus too!If you are a bourbon lover like me, you will be happy with the selection.Shelves full of "everyday sippers" for a reasonable price, as well as great selection of allocated, hard-to-find bottles that are more for a "special occasion".

I called ahead to check if they sell Baileys ☕️ & the response was “which one? We have 3!” I instantly knew this will be a good place.As soon as we walked in you also know this place has a huge selection of just about anything alcoholic beverages. We met Tom & shortly after Cordelia who asked us if we wanted to do some Italian wine tasting. We got educated & interested to get more bottles.Hay naku meron din silang mahirap mahanap at unique na Pilipino liquor at rum. Ang saya ko talaga!I LOVE this place & people!

Best alcohol selection of any place I've ever been to from around the world. We stop here every year on our way to vacation in Schoharie, and again on our way back to the city. Great prices, and staff is kind and knowledgeable.

This is by far the best store I have ever visited and shopped in. The owner is very gracious and knowledgeable in any spirit you may ask him about. The store is beautiful, well cleaned and all staff are knowledgeable and friendly. It is pet friendly, offers vets discount and seniors, since I myself am one. Chloe the owners dog is very friendly and beautiful I enjoy entering and shopping in his establishment all the time and I refer all my friends and family to him when they visit Caro New York

My all-time favorite store in our town. It has EVERYTHING, and displayed beautifully. It's like a fantastically stocked candy store for grownups. I often feel I'm treated like family there by the great staff; the owner has suggested some marvelous wines--he knows his stuff! As friendly as an old-fashioned general store, where neighbors not only make purchases, but often linger for a bit of a chat. What an asset for Cairo!

OMG Tom is a hoot! So fun and easygoing. He wowed us with his knowledge of different grapes and winemakers, and got us to double our purchase - and we couldn't have been happier!!! Leaving this review two weeks later as we've now drunk all of his recommendations, and they were as delicious as advertised.The place is deceiving upon first walking in, as others have mentioned, but the selection is incredible, and the service even better!We only got one picture, and we can highly recommend this winemaker for both their reds and the pictures rosé (thanks Tom 😄)

This place is Amazing. I drive almost an hour past many liquor stores to shop there. Wonderful selection, great prices and the owner Tom is a veritable encyclopedia and generous with his time and explanations.I won't go anywhere else. GO THERE!

It is one of my favorite shops to find the best wines and whiskies and everything in between.It feels like every month, there is a new single barrel that the owner personally picks out. Last purchased, the taconic single barrel cask strength and blew my mind.

If you close your eyes and spin around in circles and stop at random and then open your eyes and pick out the first wine you see, chances are very high that it will be a phenomenal bottle. This guy knows how to choose wine yall. If you’re lucky to get the owner to help, you’ll be captivated by his knowledge. He’s also not afraid to direct you to bottles that are not at the higher price range in order to get you exactly what you’re looking for. This is a high end experience at the post approachable, fun, feels-like-family, wine shop.

Having just moved up this way, I was looking for Rekorderlig, a swedish cider. I checked everywhere, and no one had even heard of it. On a whim, I decided to check Spirit of Cairo. Not only did they have the Rekorderlig pear cider, they had other flavors as well.The store itself has the widest variety of wine and alcohol I have ever seen. All the staff is super friendly and knows their stuff. This has become my go to liquor store and I highly recommend them.

As if it had fallen from heaven to earth and landed next to the only trace of urban sprawl in this part of Greene County, this store will remind you of when Dorothy, Toto, Tin Man, Scare Crow, and Bert Lahrs see the beautiful Emerald City appear from the vast desolation of nothingness. Not yet an avid consumer but want to try new whiskies? Eenie, Meenie, Miny, Moe it. You can’t miss. Or just ask the beautiful Tom for his expert recommendation. Service with charm and grace.More of a Rum person? So am I. This is amongst the only stores where I can find a bottle I’m happy to drink.Wait, you just want some wine? Don’t let the DBA fool you, half the store is dedicated to the sale of perfectly fermented, racked, fined, aged and rested grape juice you know as fine wine. You’ll get what you want.Whatever your pleasure, you’ll find it in this little gem of a store. The small space somehow and almost magically contains a huge amount of variety.Make it your next stop, whether you are food shopping at Hannaford or getting gas at the mesmerizingly metamorphosed Cumberland Farms. OR just make this place a destination no matter how far you’ll need to travel. It’ll be worth it.Keep up the good work SPIRITS OF CAIRO. You are a true American Hero of a store. I went in to buy a special occasion bottle and I also couldn't believe the whiskey prices-one example is Old Carter selling for over $700 when this usually goes for $250. Elmer T Lee bourbon selling for $300 plus when it's a $50 bottle. Just some of the examples of over pricing. Don't accuse patrons of "mean hate rating" (see Curtis Loew's review) when they are merely pointing out a fact. Not every rating is going to be glowing-learn and move on. It's a fact of doing business. If your bottles were priced a little over MSRP you'd probably have more returning whiskey customers.
