Area is nice but not maintained. Could be a beautiful campground but is not. Pool was closed during our stay for maintenance but no one was around working on it. Laundry room was also closed for maintenance and again no one ever working in there. Big fire started near our camp site so had to check it out. It appears, they are tearing down old trailers and burning the debris near camp sites. Carpet, flooring, furniture and other building materials burning and putting out poisonous gasses and black smoke. The septic system makes the entire area smell like sewage. The last day couldn’t end without another disappointment. Even though there was only about 8 non seasonal campers, the dump station was filled. When asked what we were suppose to do about dumping our waste. Their reply was “I don’t know”. We had to go somewhere and pay to dump. This place was a one and done for us and I would advise you to seek another campground.

This place really has potential but there were a lot of disappointments. The grounds are beautiful and I definitely enjoyed how quiet it is. The fish fry on Friday was AMAZING, however it took almost an hour to be served and they weren’t even remotely busy. The worst part of the stay is when we drove over to the dumping grounds and found their sewage dump was full!! This was a Sunday morning when they should have been preparing for people to leave, instead we weren’t able to dump our sewage. The only thing that made us suspect it was full was some cones placed out, there was no sign and they did not tell us when we came in Friday that we would not be able to dump our sewage Sunday morning. We left early, around 8, so it wasn’t because we dumped late. I can imagine there were a lot of disappointed people who attempted to dump after us. The pool was closed which was also a large disappointment, being that we are weeks into the season I’m imagining they aren’t planning to open the pool. So the potential is there but there was disappointment.

Awful! One bathroom worked and one shower. Shower was extremely small and water smelled like sulfur. Front desk associate was rude and no laundry working! Worst campground we ever stayed at - worth the drive to Waterloo for the KOA instead!Noteworthy details: Awful

I was driving to my camp site an got yelled at to slow down an chased down by 2 golf carts an then the owner chased me down and was very very rude! The shower house water smells so bad to the point you wanna puke. And you have to have someone watch you while your in the pool even if your a grown adult.. Food in there areas are a 2 hour wait.. the water turned my jewelry colors.. very disappointed. The owner (Rob) needs better social skills. The pool needs to be cleaner.. and they don’t tell you to pay for your food until a day later an they call you repeatedly.

Spent the last two days at Hejamada while attending the WoO sprint car double header at Weedsport Speedway. Grounds were beautifully manicured, the pool was very nice as well. Great playground for the kiddo's, and a big fishing pond. Only wish we had been there on Friday night for what other guests described as a wonderful fish fry. We'll definitely be back.

While attending the WoO sprint car doubleheader at Weedsport Speedway, I spent the previous two days at Hejamada. The grounds were immaculately maintained, and the pool was lovely as well. Excellent children's play area and a sizable fishing pond. Wish we had been there for the fantastic fish fry on Friday night, according to other visitors. We'll most certainly return.

We stayed here for the first time Labor Day weekend. It is an awesome campground. The family and staff are all very nice, and you can tell they love what they do. The place was packed, but people were respectful of each others' space. They have a club house where they serve dinner and have a bar (all decked out for Halloween weekend). The fish fry was delicious!! Our friend had hot wings that passed the heat test. They had activities which all could join in (COVID friendly, of course). There was a parade to check out the halloween decorations on the campers, candy for the kids, a bonfire on Sunday night, complete with the fire department making the rounds. We are hoping to go back one more time this season and look forward to spending time at Hejameda Campground in the future.

When we made the reservation, we asked for a shaded site. When we arrived, we were given a site in the middle of a sun field. We went back to the desk and she was able to move us to a partially shaded site. However, the site was so overrun with mosquitoes we had to buy an $8 bug bomb just to get through the evening. Disappointed to see them still mowing all the fields on Friday afternoon when people were arriving for the weekend. The guy mowing, stopped briefly - not to welcome us - to yell at us for apparently going over the 5 mph speed limit. Not a good start. After the second mosquito-filled night that was cool enough to have a fire but too mosquito-y to enjoy it, we decided to bail on the remaining 2 nights of our reservation and go somewhere else. Between the dirty bathrooms, laundry facilities that you had to pay for but only had cold water, and the general rundown state of affairs, it wasn’t worth it to us to miss another campfire and sit in the RV all evening avoiding the mosquitoes.

The one positive thing I can say about Hejamada Campground is that it has a lot of potential. The grounds are relatively well kept and there is a lot of room to play your typical family camping games. The site we stayed at from June 4th through the 7th had sewer and 30A electric hookups. The campground does have unprotected WiFi, but the signal was too weak to be able to connect to it from our site. There is very little for kids to do here as the playground is roped off due to being in disrepair and the pool also hadn't been opened. There are also a TON of mosquitoes due to the pond that desperately needs some maintenance. We chose to stay at this campground because it was the only one in the area that was not fully booked for the weekend. We went in hoping that the previous reviews describing the campground's overbearing owners were exaggerated. Alas, they were not...The campground has a 5 MPH speed limit, which is nearly impossible to do without continuously riding your brakes. Despite every effort to at least stay under 8 MPH, there would always be a staff member waving at you to slow down. The old guy - presumably the owner - will chase you down in his golf cart - at full speed, ironically - to chastise you for speeding. He spends roughly a quarter of his day doing this. When we stayed, the temperature on Sunday was an oppressive 86+ degrees. There is no shade in our loop, so keeping cool is a challenge. When a camper a few sites away from us lost power, the owner came to fix whatever electrical issue caused the outage and blamed it on all the "people using their damn air conditioners". By 2:00, the few kids in our loop decided to beat the heat by filling up squirt guns and have a water war. A couple of kids used a small bucket to dump water over each other's heads. Apparently, this activity was against the rules. The owner told everyone to stop because the camp uses well water. In the future, we would rather stay at a state park with no sewer hookup for less money than stay here ever again. Believe the bad reviews because they are all true.

Passing thru on an east coast trip. Campground is nestled in a nice setting. Having said that here are the cons. We were placed in a field with four other RVs as it is approaching offseason. We were close to the pool which has restroom facilities and showers. The brochure states restrooms are open 24 hours they failed to mention except for the pool showers and restrooms. This necessitated us driving the car about 1500 to 2,000 ft to go to the restroom on the other side where the residential campers are located. The restrooms were okay the showers had black mold and they definitely needed an upgrade. Water was not very hot. It did rain considerably before we arrived in inluding the first day soaking the campsites so mud was all over the place. Likely a great place for families and kids in the warm weather when it's not raining. No cable but satellite worked well in the open setting.

Awesome place. Very nice campgrounds. Owners were very nice. We met very nice people while we stayed there. There's a bar on the grounds. A really nice play ground for the kids. And yes the Mosquitoes were bad but only bc of a bad season. It rain most of the summer and very humid. We made reservations for next labor day. Cant wait to go back.!!

Although there were activities for the kids and an awesome pool we were unable to enjoy much of this Campground due to the insane amount of mosquitos. When the wind did pick up a little and shoo the pesky bugs away you were overwhelmed with the smell of sewage. These complaints may seem trivial but they are all also easily remedied. The grass was overgrown, cutting it would have helped with the bug issue and addressing obvious sewer issues would make everyone’s stay bearable. In talking with fellow campers, who have stayed before at this campground, the conditions we experienced were the norm. It’s such a shame as the campground has so much potential but the bugs, who seem to enjoy deet, and horrid smells really made it hard to enjoy.

Campground itself has a really nice layout and has spacious sites, it has a nice playground as well. On the downside there is a member of the staff that spends his entire day driving around patrolling the grounds. Seems they also don’t like kids running around playing and to me this is the point of camping. Kids being able to be kids playing outside instead of sitting inside. The pond is so overgrown with weeds that it is pretty much impossible to fish. So maybe they should pay more attention to those kinds of things rather than stalking campers and their kids

We stayed here in Mid-Late June 2021 while in the area for a bass fishing tournament split between Cayuga and Skeneatles...The Good:Lots of space for kids to run around in open grass areas.Pancake breakfast on Sunday morning was good.We used this as a test run of camper life before buying a camper (rented one on site). iT was an older camper but everything worked minus the ac could not keep up with the high temps in the afternoon. The Bad:1.All the reviews about the old man yelling at people to slow down are accurate. I was driving watching my digital dash say 5 mph and watched him come all but running out of the community hall to see who was driving by and how fast he thought they were going.2. They advertise pool, playground, other amenities that are not open. Standard campground/lodging places open their pool memorial day to labor day. Not here. Was not open during 90 degree days in end of June. Noone advises you of that when you book, and it is not on the website (false advertising?).3. Playground was roped off for "mulch work" which noone did any work during our stay. We booked a campground thinking it would give kids something to do and mom some options rather than a hotel while dad was away fishing most of the day.4. The fishing pond is washed in and overgrown. From the looks of most things at this campground, it was once a really nice place but is lacking regular upkeep.5. No wifi availability despite advertising it. It only works near the office.I will end by saying many of the things could be fixed with simple explanations or attention to detail. When asked about the pool on our day of arrival the answer was "no". Not "Im sorry but its not open because of xyz." No explanation that Cayuga State park down the road about 15 mins has a full swim area and kids playground that could be taken advantage of. Also for the staff to scream at cars literally driving 5-7mph while avoiding bumps in the gravel road is just unprofessional. Most cars can idle at the 5mph speed. We did meet several nice people. All of which said this was their first and last stay here... that pretty much tells you everything you need to know.

Well at first I thought it might not be to bad. Its a beautiful place with protental but that's where it stops. The showers and bathrooms are disgusting. Then the seasonal folks get drunk and are rude and always yelling to slow down to people going 5 mph or even less. They keep telling weekends as we are called to stay off the grass with bikes and carts that are rented as if we are 2. They are quick to tell you that they pay to stay here. Well just to let these rude seasonal people know that if it wasn't for us weekenders that pay more for a site than they do their rate would be much higher. They say don't move the fire rings well if you don't than your fire is under the neighbor's camper. Not sure if these people have ever camped or just don't care or are just plain blind. The old owners were much better. WILL NOT BE BACK TO THIS ONE THAT'S FOR SURE!!!

Cheap. Was probably nice years ago but nothing looks maintained. Listened to drunk domestic fight to sites over. Looks like it was once a family place but now is older drunks. The rec center is now a dirty bar serving cheap beer to old guys watching sports on cheap TVs. The pond is really a flooded drainage ditch.

Do yourself a favor, camp at the state park 5 miles down the road. Owners police the 5 miles an hour policy and will pull campers over and berate the *paying* customer for going over their speed limit. They will also invite you to leave if you don't like how he runs the place. The fire pits had cigars and cigarettes and plastic and wet garbage in the pit. The pool had bugs floating in it everywhere, and there was sediment in the bottom of it. The showers, oh the showers, smelt like rotten eggs, and they had a good two inches of water covering my feet because it wouldn't drain. I felt more dirty after my shower than before. There was zero shade in the field we camped in, and a skunk that roamed the grounds at night. The other negative reviews are spot on.We looked at Cayuga State park with envy.

1st I have been a camper for at least 30 years, and this camp grounds is in the top 5 that I won't return to. 1st the camp site was very unlevel one side of the camper was at least a foot to a foot in a half higher. The high side was of course the door side which made getting in and out of the camper a challenge,( the bottom step was at least 18 inches above the ground) it made it very difficult for the seniors in our group. As for Amenities they were very limited, in our area there were 2 small bathrooms and no showers, so when a waterline broke in our area we had no water to our trailer for aleast a half a day and waited in line 45min to an hour to use what showers the did have, 1 for the men and 1 for the women. The pool wasn't open. You could barely fit 2 vehicles on any of the camp ground roads. When backing in my trailer I scratched my truck on branches that were sticking out in the road. My site was next to their so called rental units that I wouldn't let a homeless person stay in.The trailers had to be 25 to 30 years old and looked it, not very appealing. Google gave this camp ground 3.7 stars which should have been maybe 2 stars. On a good note the staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful. All in all this camp ground needs quite the overhaul .

First, eyes are the new ways to tell how fast u r going apparently. Every time I come in I do 5 mph. At night, I do the same. However, everyone is drunk so I always get yelled at and complaints to the owner. Especially by this one dark haired nosy woman who thinks she owns the world. I get accused by the owner. Not questioned, but accused. He clearly sides with people because that same woman I've seen flying by on her golf cart in the wrong direction!Second, our camper and others have gotten broken into. The owner does not have a plan for when that happens.Third, the bathrooms are so disgusting. They are old and smell bad. I always find hair in it and the shower heads suck. The constant nagging and accusing is starting to become a problem. I'm sick of it. It ruins the camping experience. Oh yes, this campground is also a free range to let your young children run around wherever they want and the playground is a hang out for teens who like to swear and talk dirty. We've stayed seasonally for three years. Not likely to happen a fourth.

This Campground despite Ms. Buske's review of lies, is very much a family orientated campground. They often have events to raise money for camp good days as well as various other charities. Ms Buske claims that people are too drunk to notice how fast she is going. The speed limit is clearly posted through out this beautiful campground as being 5 miles an hour. I myself have witnessed her on numerous occasions going in excess of the speed limit. Children have even spoke up to this woman asking her to slow down and her classy retort to these small children was " F### yourselves". These children were all about 12 and under that she yelled that to. The showers and bathrooms are cleaned everyday perhaps it was her hair she happened to find in the drain of the shower. Everyone at Hejamada is warm and welcoming including the "one dark haired nosy woman who thinks she owns the world" ( I think that is how the complainant put it anyway) she is friendly, caring and would help anyone if she was asked. That doesn't just go for her but the rest of the people there as well, especially the owners. They have always made us feel like family. Ms. B, my advice if you see this, if you are not happy there feel free to leave because we don't need that kind of lying and negativity in the campground. In conclusion, please do not take my word for it...please visit the campground and see for yourselves, and definitely do not take anything the last review had to say as anything other than a work of fiction.

The place looks better then it actually is. Our site was so unlevel that our camper was angled down towards the front. If we had more then the AC and TV on the electric would go off and we would have to go outside to the hookup and reset. Happened very often. We couldn't leave the black line open on sewer line or the smell coming up from the system was absolutely disgusting. Got harassed twice for driving too fast when we were driving the posted speed. Actually basically called us liars because we said we were going posted speed. We will never come back and don't recommend you waste your money either.

The sites are pretty close together, however, there was plenty of open space behind and in front of our RV. The park itself is very nice, open, green, etc. The mosquitos were horrendous! Pretty high priced also. If you need to stay in the area, I would recommend this campground, but be sure to bring mosquito bombs and spray.

Very nice quiet place. This is a family run campground that is an absolute joy to speak with, very nice people that get customer service. They have a recreation hall that serves food, and a bar. Playground, and pool as well. If you want a quiet getaway near the wine trail, I would recommend this campground.

Great place! Swet sound of children on the playground, generous portions of food (more than I could eat), good beer that was really cold (yum), clean campsite (I was in a tent), clean bathrooms! Affordable and pleasant owners! I have nothing negative to say! Highly recommended!

We were told the pool was going to be open for the weekend we were camping when I made our reservation - we checked in & were told the pool is closed. Our campsites (we had 2) continuous ly smelled of sewer the whole time we were there. The grass was not mowed. Would not recommend this campground to anyone!!!!

Well we spent our first weekend here. And honestly I have to say… for $60/night, that’s a high price for not much to do. Fish in a shallow sea weed infested pond. No matter what time of day, you become food for the vampire mosquitoes that are there! I could not use enough bug spray. My wife got tore up by the mosquitoes through her jeans and sweatshirt. The staff should hire someone to spray for those annoying bugs, so that you might be able to enjoy some outdoor activities. Now we have stayed at other locations next to a river and wooded area, that had minimal bugs. I’d think twice about staying here. The bugs were terrible! And not mention a staff members response to a post on fb. Wow, that’s just wrong of her to give such advise when she is in a service related industry. I’m pretty sure the camp ground wants people to have campers to utilize the sites. Not to have their staff tell to sell it and go to a hotel. The nerve!

Rude people, sites on full hookup circle are unlevel in the extreme. We had 4 blocks under our back stablizers just to get 90% level with hitch pretty much on the ground. Poorly marked map doesn't include a new road which looks to be part of the full hk loop but is actually a dead end BEHIND the loop. Some older man came up to our truck window, no introduction, still don't know who he was, and started screaming at us about being in the grass. He ranted for about 5 minutes at us before leaving. No clue if he worked there or what. Discovered their leach field is right on the fishing pond and isn't marked.Place is beautiful, clean pool, lots of spaces with great potential. But they put you all together in clumps and have 4 or 5 of the full hk up sites with old broken down trailers on them. They are the ones that are most level as well, not sure why they are there. Wish they spaced you out more around the park. Fire circles are behind your trailer spot. Laundry is 4 bucks to wash and dry 1 small load. Dumping gray water, if not in full hk up, which they have few of, is an extra charge, fitness center, an extra charge, using your a/c...yep, an extra charge. Nickel and dime you to death. Won't be returning to this hostile, unwelcome place. Should have known better when we saw it wasn't a Good Sam place. We NEVER give negative reviews folks. Ever. This is quite possibly our first ever 1 star review and it isn't done lightly. But...it is what it is. We stayed 3 days in a travel trailer. Hope you do your own research as well as read reviews. Maybe it will be a good fit for your family, but not ours.

I found this campgrounds horrible. The site is below par. The most amazingly rude owners. I've never encountered everyone to be so rude. We actually felt scared sleeping in our motorhome on there property, Absolutely no reason to camp here, The property is like camping in an open ball field, Pack your shotgun for security
