Used to love this place. The views from the winery are spectacular. Went 2 years ago and was told from a very rude male employee, that we couldn't have a tasting because we didn't make a reservation. It was in March, during the middle of the week. There were 2 of us. We had checked the website prior to stopping and it said reservations required for 6 or more people. Went there yesterday, checked in for a tasting. Had 2 free tastings with a wine pass from Harbor Hotel. No problem. The lady at the check in was very nice. We showed her the wine pass, she said she would inform the lady who would be giving us our tasting and see where she wanted to seat us. We were seated. Another employee came to see what wines we wanted to try. I asked why there were no longer 2 wines I always purchased. I was basically told because they take too long, too much time involved, so they are now focusing on dryer wines. Had our tastings, used the restroom and left. We were chased down in the parking lot, asking if we were going to pay for our tasting! Excuse me! They were free with our wine pass! So I'm not sure where the communication breakdown was. But I certainly did not appreciate being treated that way. And since you don't have time to make anything other than dry wines, I will not be back. Should have learned from my visit two years ago.

The view here was absolutely breathtaking! Excellent view of Seneca Lake! Loved the back patio, could have sat here all day just for the view alone. Good selection of dry wines. The only reason I removed 1 star is because we prefer sweet wines over dry wines, I wish they had a better selection of sweet wines.

We loved this place. The wines were our favorite we tried. We loved the small plate of cheese and crackers that came with the tasting. Mostly though, we really enjoyed the woman who did our tasting. It is not every day that you meet someone so kind and so enthusiastic about what they are talking about. Even though she had other tables, she makes you feel like she really cares about your experience. I wish I could remember her name!

Awesome experience at Atwater! The staff were superb and really made the experience even better. I didn't catch his name but the bald man who was running our wine tasting was knowledgable and personable. Glad they had some snacks available, too.

We stopped here to just grab a glass of wine, we didn’t do their tasting. As others have mentioned, the view alone is worth it. Even though it was chilly, we enjoyed sitting in their back patio and admiring the view. Their Symvoli was our favorite. The service was attentive and their staff were pleasant.

Our favorite vineyard we visited on Seneca Lake. The indoor tasting allows each person to choose their five to taste. The cheese and gluten free crackers provided with the tasting are delicious. Their glasses of wine are quite affordable and a must have on the porch overlooking the vineyard and lake.

We're not from around this area (or country), but on our way back from a hike, we stopped over at this winery. The views are spectacular of the lake and the wines (especially the Riesling), is delicious! Reccomend 110% if you have some time.

This was my go to winery for iced wine and I haven't been back here in about 6 years and was surprised to see the place completely remodeled. Unfortunately they no longer sell iced wine. We did a wine tasting outside with a cheese board and nut tray. The view is amazing and they had a live band playing which was nice. It was nice to see a winery open past 6pm on a Thursday night. The one cheese they had tasted like a cheese cake. It was a goat cheese with honey and fig. I definitely need to buy this cheese and I recommend that you try this one. They were sold out of their sweet wine so I was disappointed as I love my sweet wines but I tried their resieling and purchased a bottle. Definitely coming back for the ambiance alone.

The view of lake was stunning. The flight of wines were terrific. Tom was so knowledgeable and fun with descriptions of wines during the tasting, he made it a truly enjoyable experience. We left with a case, and will be ordering more online to be delivered home.

Molly was absolutely amazing. She was so informative and passionate. She catered to our various tastes in wine. My boyfriend likes sweet wines and I prefer dry wines. We had a beautiful medium of both. Greg was also sincerely genuine and is a great resource for additional information about wine. We absolutely loved Atwater and would recommend to friends and family. Ps. Phenomenal view and great outdoor bar.

Good winery in the finger lakes region of upstate new York. We really liked their wines after tasting flights of both reds and whites. We even bought a couple of bottles. The view of Lake Seneca from their tasting deck is fantastic. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and the entire staff were very gracious hosts. The tastings were conducted very nicely. They gave us just the right amount of information and explanation without overwhelming us. Lovely place definitely worth a visit!

Wonderful wine tasting experience on a snowy December day. The staff was so welcoming and helpful with offering local recommendations. Greg was knowledgeable, friendly and patient to talk two novice wine drinkers through their tasting experience. Would highly recommend and will be back when in the Finger Lakes again.

This was one of our normal stops over the past 15 years. On this trip, our group of 8 was told they could not accommodate us, not even if we split up into smaller groups. Not sure how you cannot deal with breaks us up. Scratched them off the normal stops and will tell our Grapehounds friends about this poor reception. The response regarding seating is not acceptable. The place had very few people in there. Would you have turned away 4 couples coming in separately? I highly doubt it. As a small business owner, I give a LOT Of leeway. But, 20 years in the Finger Lakes, we never had that reception. Owner response not accepted.

Nice, dog-friendly winery with panoramic views of Seneca Lake. The tap room was closed when I was there but it was really nice outside and their outdoor space includes a large tented area, a couple benches on the patio, and several sets of Adirondack chairs down on the huge lawn. They also have a gaming space with two cornhole sets. They serve wine and small plates of charcuterie. It was really nice ending the day with a glass of wine while watching the amazing sunset over the lake.

A beautiful place with a great view of the Seneca lake. Been here many times with my friends on Sundays and had a great day. We've even take a couple of wine bottles home. Me and my friends love the smoked cheese from this place as well!

The views from this place were amazing. I'm not a wine drinker, but I ended up leaving with a bottle. It was that good. They had a food truck when we went with delicious food and a band playing, creating good vibes

Went in for a tasting and I was not disappointed. Expect to spend around an hour here for a well thought out and learning experience. The staff are SO friendly and informative. They answer any questions and are determined to provide more information than you ever thought you needed. I really enjoyed being able to sit back and look at the beautiful view while learning so much about wine. They serve more dry wines than sweet, so sweet drinkers be warned! Beautiful place meant to serve as an experience and NOT just a 15 minute stop along the wineries.

The drinks and snacks are fantastic. Prices are reasonable. Staff are very friendly. No filters or editing on these pics. Come here during sunset. You won’t regret it!

Favorite winery so far in the Finger Lakes! What a view and the wines were superb. It’s dog-friendly so even our pup had a blast. Ample outdoor seating with a convenient bar. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. This is a must visit if you’re in the Finger Lakes!

4th of July fall on Monday this year, and it wasn’t crowded when we came in around 6 PM. Our server was very knowledgeable and nice, and her story added a personal touch.

We had a reservation for the wine tasting. The charcuterie board was great and the wine was very tasty. Our server was very nice as well. Our only complaint was we felt rushed. She came over regularly while we still had wine in our glasses and towards the end she actually told us that we needed to finish because she had another reservation coming in. I get that the room is small and reservations are limited but then you should tell customers up front that the tasting is only for a set time. We had just been hiking and were looking forward to a relaxing tasting. It’s very hard to really enjoy and savor the wine though when someone is rushing you out the door. Especially when you’ve just spent $65 for 2 people after the tasting and the food.

The views are incredible here. They take the time to discuss each wine you choose in your tasting. Very inviting place and a personal feeling.

Excellent view on their back deck area, and the only winery in the area that stayed open past 6 on certain nights which really set it apart. We went for Vinyl night where people brought their own vinyl for the DJ to spin. Very cute and unique place.

Was disappointed with my last tasting here. I love Atwater wines and always look forward to tasting here. This is the first year I did not come home with a few bottles from Atwater. The wines were great, as expected. However, the man giving our tasting was short, gruff and unpleasant. When we asked questions about the gewürztraminer and what makes skin fermenting different we got a gruff non-answer after which he walked away. I love Atwater and their wines but was extremely put off by their employee. Hopefully this is a problem with an individual and not the vineyard. The deck as always was wonderful and the bartender back there was awesome, making up for the short responses we received earlier. If not for Doc, this would have been a one star review and my husband and I would reconsider coming back.
