I purchased three male gerbils here a few months ago. Very healthy, I haven’t had any health nor territorial issues so far. The establishment was clean and their cage was a perfect size and bedding depth for the species.I have not been able to socialize them beyond simple back touches, but that’s not a fault of the pet store. Sometimes desert rodents just dislike humans. 😅

The only place you'll have to go for all your pet needs. Great staff. Friendly and knowledgeable. Super clean store with an abundance of inventory. Everything from dog food to tetras.. rodents to reptiles.. they've got everything. Love shopping there and it's nice to know I'm supporting local small businesses.

The best pet store around literally. I’ve been getting my feeder rats for my snakes from them for awhile but they have everything! Reptiles, ferrets, hedgehogs, snakes, scorpions, fish, axolotls and more plus supplies ! Plus the customer service is amazing!!! Brought my new puppy in there and they gave him treats and toys and everything! I bring my daughter in and they give her stickers or squish toys and she loves it. plus everytime I come in there it looks better, they get new stuff/upgrades constantly! :)

Great store especially for those of us who have unconventional pets such as tarantulas or reptiles. 100% will be my go to for live feeders and frozen. Huge selection of fish as well as many reptiles and even arachnids an amphibians. Prices on live and frozen feeders are very reasonable as well!

We recently had Buffalo Pet Supply come to our home to clean and restore our fish tank. We had let the tank go and it got way beyond us being able to clean it and set it back up. We almost tossed it and decided to call round to see if this was “actually a thing anyone did” When I first spoke to Dave I knew he was the right person. He was very friendly and super knowledgeable on what needed to be done to bring our tank back to life. His scheduling was quick too. Dave spent about 2 hours working on cleaning the entire thing and I have to say it looks incredible. Just yesterday I was thinking about Dave would show up and tell us there was no way he was going to touch it, but man did he surprise the heck out of us. The tank looks BRAND NEW! We are so excited to come visit the store to fill our tank up! I wouldn’t go anywhere else after the amazing experience we had! Thank you so much for being so helpful and being so good at what you do!*the photo was taken only a few hours after he finished cleaning it and it’s already super clear- I wish I had taken before shots! My kids came home and ask if we got a new tank - thanks again!!

I am 70-years-old and have had aquariums on and off since I was a child. I set up a new 48-gallon tank about 4 months ago and then purchased tropical fish from a few local fish suppliers, including Buffalo Pet Supply (they were my first stop). I had actually visited this business a couple of times beforehand to see what fish they had that I might like. My impression was that they were relatively new owners trying to get their business established, so I was inclined to buy fish there first, rather than going to The Fish Store in N. Tonawanda (typically my go-to source for fish).Anyway, I stopped in Buffalo Pet Supply again on March 22nd, 2022 and spent over $67 there on various tropical fish. Included in this purchase were a pair of Red Rainbow Gouramis. My receipt states that the purchase was made at 3:05pm. At 6:39pm I noticed that one of those Gouramis was sitting on the gravel laying at a 45° angle. I watched that fish over the evening and by 11:05pm it was dead. Just to add, I am well-familiar with the process of acclimating new fish into an aquarium and it was done properly.Considering that this fish only lasted a few hours, I went back to Buffalo Pet Supply the next day with the deceased fish in a baggy (I have never returned a dead fish in my life – until now). I explained what had happened and even said that I had taken photos at various times before it died. Well, the owner refused to refund or replace the fish without me bringing in a water sample for testing. I assured him that my water is fine and that I test it every week or so. He didn’t budge, so I left, telling him that I would never be back. BTW, that same day I was going to purchase a couple of other fish after the replacement of the dead fish.It’s not the rather insignificant $7.99 that’s the issue, but rather it’s a businessman who can’t be bothered looking at the big picture. In the past few months, I have spent over $225 at Buffalo Pet Supply. On top of that, I had purchased some new Disney aquarium decorations (not from Buffalo Pet Supply) for my granddaughter, but had some extras that I wasn’t going to use. I stopped in one day and gave them to the store (paid about $30 for them, but I couldn’t be bothered trying to sell these myself and figured they could get a few bucks for them). As you might assume, in retrospect I now regret both my generosity and the money I've spent there.Do what you wish with this review, but it’s very unlikely that you would encounter this type of short-sighted treatment at The Fish Store in N. Tonawanda, or even Pets Plus-Reptiles & Exotics in Lockport. They have much larger selections and smarter management.Update: It’s March 23rd and now the other Red Rainbow Gourami clearly has a visible fungus (no other fish in my tank are sick). Clearly, these fish, which I paid over $16 for, were diseased when sold to me. Based on my poor experiences with Buffalo Pet Supply, I would recommend buying your tropical fish elsewhere!

New owners after Niagara Aquarium closed are doing a great job of making the place even better. Of primary concern for me was the fish selection and healthiness of the tanks. They are pristine. Wasted time stopping by the major chains in recent weeks for new fish to stock a new tank. Wouldn't buy anything from them. Algae, sluggish fish, poor selection, not kept up. Just go here and avoid all that, get yourself healthy fish and have a nice selection to choose from. Staff was friendly and fast. Prices are either a little lower than the big stores or similar. I'll just buy from them from now on.

This place cares about the customer and the pets! They offer a great variety of fish along with aquarium extras. They have never sold me a fish that wasn't healthy and always offer advice and help when I ask for it. They also have delicious doggie treats! I'm a customer for life!!!

This is a fantastic pet store. Every single employee I have had interactions with knows their stuff, and are really passionate about it. The prices are also fantastic. We recently got a new pet lizard. I don't think I could have gotten a better deal anywhere else. I'm lucky to have this shop nearby!

We have had great experiences at Buffalo Pet Supply. They are knowledgeable and helpful and even let us try a sample of a bug for free that we weren't sure if our gecko would like. They are kind to our young son and very helpful. The meal worms and wax worms we've purchased there last longer than ones from PetSmart and our gecko is very happy.
