I generally like to support small businesses, especially in my neighborhood. I was just going to take it as an experience that for my dog and me, personally, was not good. It seems others have had good experiences. However, it was when one of the women working there decided she would approach me in a manner that did not sit well with me, even when I wasn't saying anything, that I felt compelled to share our experience. I even paid the $95+ just for her bath that I could have done myself , and as I was doing so she continued to talk and actually was the one who was making a scene. I just wanted to pay, walk out quietly with me dog, and never come back. And again I was just going to chalk it up as to a bad experience for us and leave it at that.I want to start out knowing full well that it would take my dog time to adjust. She gets a little nervous, but she normally warms up to people after a while. I noticed that when she doesn't, she just does not vibe with them, and that is okay. I've had two dogs prior to this and she was getting groomed regularly for over a year. Unfortunately, her regular groomers were temporarily out. She needed a haircut for the summer. I already had initial doubts when I got a call a few days ago asking what time they had confirmed me for and when I called and left a message to confirm the time they gave me no one called back. I had seen earlier reviews about their time issues. It was also difficult to park around the area I will also add that. I went in, and to me, it felt a little dated. Everyone seemed nice for the most part. I also saw immediately that the cages were not laid out well, in my opinion. My dog was immediately put into one, but I had to support cause it seemed like the tech was hesitant to handle her. The cages were in the same space where they would be grooming the other dogs, of course I felt that she would be scared if heard all the dogs fussing and saw all that was going on in front of her. It just didn't seem organized to me. I still gave the benefit of the doubt and was hopeful all would turn out well. I expected a couple of hours (not an in and out service as the woman claimed I was expecting), but over 4 hours later, they had just finished bathing her and she had yet to get her trim and other stuff. The thought of her scared and still waiting was not sitting well with me, so I decided to just pick her up and take her home.I get that it's not easy dealing with a nervous dog who is experiencing a new place. I was nervous myself. But I wanted to give them a try, hoping that in the long run, I could find a regular groomer for her in a small business shop that was local. I wish that they had talked to me and explained things more. That we would have had a mutual understanding. At the end of the day, wee are entrusting our precious dogs to these groomers, hoping they are safe and cared for. So, it would have went a long way if that had talked to me in a caring manner. That kind of caring approach makes a difference.They seem nice enough and they have a loyal customer base, I won't go back. It's not for us.

Made an appt for 10:30a today. I was told my dog needed up to date rabies and Bordetella. They turned us away when we arrived because his DAPP vaccine wasn’t up to date. Wouldn’t been nice to know all that was required. The groomer that was there was rude even before I opened my mouth. Accusing me of canceling the day before. This shop is small, run down & dirty. They had 4 dogs in cages, imagine the wait to pick your dog back up. Even pet smart is better. Hope yall have the day you deserve

JoAnn and her staff are the best, they are considered as part of my family. They call me to remind me of his due time for grooming. I am able to go to work and relax knowing my pooch is getting the best care. Once he is almost ready they call me with out feeling pressure to pick him up. The results of their grooming is always pleasurable. Besides I will always support small business owners.

Although Ms. Joann seemed very nice they are not a timely or very responsive company. I brought my dog twice and both times they were more than a half and hour late. I called several times and left messages but they were not returned. Just to make the appointment I had to leave a couple of messages and call multiple times before I was able to speak with someone. Nice company but pointless if their timeliness, responsiveness to consumers, and ethic suck. Definitely won't give them anymore business unfortunately.

I was referred to the pooch parlor by a colleague. I must say it was the best decision ever. Every time I drop my puppy off and picked her up I am pleased with her appearance and her fresh smell.Over all it’s a great place, Jo Ann the owner is amazing and very patience.

Joanne cleaned up my dog Sirius Black and also informed me of any issues he had regarding his fur and nails. She is a pro and truly cares for your pet. She works promptly and Sirius loves her. I'm moving upstate and I'm very sad that I won't be able to take him to her because she's the ONLY person I trust to handle my baby. Thanks so much Pooch Parlor!

When she told me "Manhattan Style in Brooklyn" , she was absolutely correct. I asked for a crazy cut that I thought she never heard of, and was excited to do a fun cut. Love this shop, my puppy leaves her neat, freshly cleaned, and enthusiastic. I will always go here.

I googled dogs grooming and this is the 1st one that caught my attention. This groomer Joanne is very nice and does a great job.
