MID SIZE DOG OWNERS BEWARE! I have an almost 3 year old Australian shepherd, high energy as expected with his breed but knows all commands & listens when told to do something - not to mention he is as sweet as can be. I’ve used PetSmarts all over NY for grooming but will NEVER return to this location again.I used their website and based on their time availability I made an appointment with Dani S. We dropped off our dog with very clear instructions that we wanted him cut down as short as possible (he’s been getting easily matted due to the long winter length). We provided a photo to the groomer of exactly what we wanted & she put the photo on her phone.Upon returning to pick him up, I was told he was reactive (first red flag). Then I was told he had some matting behind his ears that she was able to get out and still keep some length (immediate confusion kicked in because we had asked he be cut down as short as possible). I asked to see my dog and let her know his coat was too long “well this wasn’t communicated to me” was the response I was met with. I verified that she had the photo example, which she showed me she did on her phone & then she tried to say “well it’s a bad photo honestly.. I’m done for the day…you’ll have to bring him in again some other time”. We went back and forth for a bit before I asked to speak to someone else.They tried to tell me that there was a miscommunication with my husband having dropped the dog off and me picking him up. Obviously miscommunications can happen at times, but when you have a photo guide to follow and you even verify that you have said photo, at a certain point shouldn’t you admit you messed up? To try to diffuse the situation, the store manager gave me 30% off the service, but realistically if you went to a restaurant and ordered a meal you never received should you be charged?I literally have NEVER left a bad review but feel compelled to let other people know to not make the same mistake as I did by going here. I’ve also noticed since Monday that not only was the length wrong, but the whole cut was a total hack job (uneven all over and still matted in areas - photos included). It’s evident that Dani S does not know how to deal with a dog like mine & PetSmart should have parameters in place that prevents groomers who don’t have experience with certain dogs from being booked. Or better yet if she realized she was incapable of properly grooming my dog, they should have called me immediately and denied service for that day with that specific groomer. Her comment about him being reactive is completely reflected in his horrible haircut. So here I am just having paid for a haircut and my dog looks worse than when he went in and the manager somehow thinks discounting this plus my next service there would have done a justice. You shouldn’t have to pay twice for ONE service to be completed.

I travel all the way to this location to shop. I found shopping here easy and painless. Store is well stocked and easy to navigate. The only issue is you don't always get fresh potted plants for your pets. Some times they are not fresh at all with dried out leaves. But over all it is a good store which carries prescription foods as well. I can't comment about the grooming salon since I have always bathed my German Shepherds and my cat myself at home. It is very easy to bathe your babies at home and less stressful for them. Not to mention I don't trust anybody with my babies specially if I can't be threre with them during grooming.

I came here for grooming services and they did a fantastic job with my dog. My dog looks and smells good. The haircut was exactly how I needed it to be. Thank you for servicing us, we’ll be back.

These groomers are the worst. They don not have any TLC. I left my dog in their care. After I picked him up, I had to bring him back because they did not do what I asked. More worst, he had a deep cut under his left eye. Never ever again will I bring him back there. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG THERE UNLESS YOU ARE GOI G TO STAND THHERE AND WATCH THEM THE ENTIRE TIME. THEY TREAT DOGS HORRIBLE AND THEY DO NOT HAVE PATIENCE.

Franklyn the trainer is the absolute best - the only reason we kept coming back here for 3 rounds of classes. Our dog loves him so much and he’s made such a difference in her behavior! Would recommend Franklyn’s classes to all dog owners.

Grooming service here sucks , one time I take my dog here to get groomed, gave clear direction on what I needed for him and areas to avoid. The groomer then proceeds to not follow directions and cuts him up then gives him to me with the area still bleeding and has the nerve to not inform me. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR FUR BABY!I decided to give them one more chance today and my dog had an irritation on his neck . I gave her clear direction on what to do but since she wasn't "comfortable" couldn't get my dog a bath that he desperately needed.Don't even waste your time here, it's a joke to hire people who can't take clear direction or aren't comfortable in their own environment.The one person that actually cared and did a great job for multiple clients including myself got fired because she was generous.Good luck to you if you take your fur baby here!

The worst grooming experience ever, when I arrived I had an appointment for a bath, brush and nail grind I decided to upgrade to a full cut and bath. Worst decision ever, the groomer available was Michelle (from her reaction when I asked to upgrade to a full cut it was obvious that she didn't want too but she was the only groomer available to do a full cut) let's just say she butchered my baby It looks as if my 10 year old niece gave my baby a hair cut. His face was cut uneven, it seems as if she forgot to cut two of his nails on his right paw and his tail looks horrible not to mention she cut him way too low and uneven. If Michelle is the only groomer available avoid booking with her. Overall this was a horrible experience. Update after further review my fur baby has several little knicks on his belly and under his arms from where the groomer cut him too low with the clippers avoid this place if you love your fur babies.

I was a bit nervous of taking my dog to this location because of the reviews. However it was a very pleasant experience for me. Jeanette was incredibly kind and listened to what i wanted and even suggested what length i should i get my bestie. Overall the experience was great and my baby looks so cute

They are always friendly and courteous and accommodating. The store leaders lead so runs thing smoothly. Your fish dept staff are the best!!!!!!! Tho Your minnows usually die and I think one got my axolotl sick but that’s my own fault bc I shouldve known better than to feed him minnows. It’s a risk. I learned better.I also don’t understand why you won’t let me buy guppies as feeders but forces me to buy minnows. Which got my axolotl sick.People buy guppies because they are safer to feed our pets than your diseased minnows.But that’s not the staffs fault. It’s your operating management team.The sales staff are great. Your policy is stupid and dangerous. And your minnows are deadly and contagious. Clean your minnows tank.

I'm so grateful for Franklyn our trainer! As a first time dog owner and especially since Benji is a large energetic puppy, it was important for me to sign up for classes asap. Throughout our beginner, intermediate and advanced classes, I've seen improvements in how Benji walks on leash, and acts around distractions which are his biggest issues. Franklyn introduced key concepts in positive reinforcement training and rewarding with play and treats and have supported me by answering my questions while my puppy grows up. I appreciate having a consistent schedule for practice and plus Benji has so much fun in class and were strengthening our bond, it's a win win situation! Great value, we're starting brain games training tomorrow!!

I have Kiara taking care my dog and I loved the way she was trying to get his attention my dog always bark or growls to people but she got him with no problem, overall grooming was great am so happy for job she did with him. Customer service with her was great.

The experiences i have had so far were great. They groomed our dog, and it was great. My mother in laws (who has Alzheimers) has an aged dog that also needed grooming. They cared for the dog with love.5 stars for being professional and loving.

I have to say that I don't have complains regarding the shop. The cashiers are always friendly and nice with customers, but I had a really bad experience at their salon. While I was waiting in the shop while my dog got his nails trimmed, I could listen how he was desperately barking and howling. I returned to the grooming area to see what was going on and my dog had this rope around his neck pulling so tight that he was struggling to breath and his eyes were completely red. I asked them to stop the service and the guy that was with my dog seemed annoyed. My dog was shaking and even when we left the store and passed by later, he started shaking again and pulling towards the opposite direction. I realised what a bad experience he had at PetSmart. He has never done that before in vets or even at the hospital where we had surgery. Petsmart should hire people who like animals and know how to deal with them, not just people who wants a job.

It’s dark and dingy. They block the view of adoptable cats. I had to physically move this giant rolling thing myself in order to see that cats behinds it. Not a single employee came over to assist in anyway.

I dont know if they cut down on staff, but the last few times I came here, the isles are empty from staff and only 1 or 2 are at the check out. No one to discuss items and help with comparisons like before. Prices are average with a great selection of dog food a d cat food.

**this review is for cat grooming only the store alone is great** I took my long hair cat here for the "bath and brush" package. I booked the grooming through their online service, they did not have my cat's breed so i specified that she was "domestic long hair." The grooming service was supposed to include a bath, sanitary trim, paw fur trimming, nail clip, ear cleaning and minimal brushing. Things like perfume were listed as add-ons that i did not request. When i went back to pick up my cat i paid but I did not inspect her until i got home because she was stressed and I just wanted to leave. At home I realized no sanitary trim or paw fur trim had been done, and she reeked strongly of a gross perfume. Her fur did not look like it does when I bathe her, usually it looks fluffy. It was greasy and flat. I cannot prove that she was not bathed but it truly did not seem like she was. When I called to ask why the services were not performed, and to confirm that my cat had been bathed, the woman told me "yes I remember your cat being bathed absolutely" but then the woman told me that my cat was a short hair Abyssinian and that's why they did not do a sanitary trim or paw trim, proving she had no idea what my cat even looks like. Their system somehow reverted my cat's breed to the default. Regardless of this, I checked and the package has the same price and services regardless of what breed you pick, and my cat is OBVIOUSLY a long haired cat, that needed the full package regardless of what breed she was wrongfully listed as. To say they didn't provide full service because on paper she was short hair when in reality she is clearly a long haired cat is preposterous. However they did provide a refund, and her nails were trimmed VERY well. I also saw the cat groomer doing a lion cut on a different cat and she seemed very experienced and skillful. So if you go, clear up the package you are getting and make sure they will provide full service. Maybe in the future i will give them another try because the prices are good and i think the next time they wouldn't make the same mind boggling mistake.

Absolutely ridiculous! They have a website to book appointments for grooming, except you won’t be able to find any available time for a year out(I only had the patience to scroll about a year since it’s a week at a time)! Stop offering these traps if you can’t fulfill the service, stop wasting people’s time! The only thing they want is to gather your personal information.
