I brought hamster food and it came filled with pantry mouths. When I opened the bag they were flying all around my apt. It took days to kill them all.Update there’s so many of these mouths. I’ve been killing them for days now. I threw away the food. Now I have to get pantry mouth traps. Never again will I buy anything from this store.

First of all to reply to all the bad comments, it's a pet shop. It's smells like there are live animals in there. You have visited a zoo before haven't you? The service is great and the owner SUPER knowledgeable about pets. I took my puppy in there to get her nails clipped. She screams like a banshee when I do it and just laid there and let her nails get clipped when I brought her into the shop. I'm leaving all my puppies grooming needs to the professionals.

The owner, Claudia is very helpful and informed about the products and the animals. And if she doesn't have a product you are looking for, she will try her best to get it for you or at least find something comparable. The store employees are very personable and helpful as well. They groom your pets very nicely and give them back to you with cute little accessories like bows or bandanas. I have been going to this place for over a decade and I have YET to see any animal in filthy conditions. If a pet is in a cage without food or water it's because they are waiting to get groomed or waiting to be picked up after grooming. People need to get their facts straight. Also, the animals she sells do not come from puppy mills and many times come from owners who's dogs have had puppies and need homes. They all have their initial shots and paperwork.

The owner is absolutely hysterical.She really loves all of her animals, the way she talks to the birds with such love. It’s so hard to find that in nyc pet stores.Update: unfortunately I have to lower my review to 3 stars... the fish I purchased ended up being so sick, and 5 days later they’re dead, and my pleco is about to die too.

The owner Claudia is very helpful. She will help you get what you are looking for and if she doesn’t have it she will order it for you. I’m giving it 4 stars though because some of the animals aren’t in the best conditions. Once i saw a bearded dragon who looked sickly. On another occasion there was a veiled Chameleon which didn’t have a ubv light but had only a red night light. (i have owned both so i’m aware of how their proper living conditions are suppose to be.)

I went to buy a brush for my Chow Shepherd Terrier because it's shedding season and imI a new pet mom. My first time here and I had a few questions which the lady answered the best she could. I also like the convenience of not needing a grooming appointment. I didn't think it smelled worse than any petshop that keeps live animals.

I like coming to this pet shop because you find more variety in dog clothing and the lady at the front helps you with questions like, why your turtle not eating? or say you looking for a specific breed of dog she will help you find it. It's a mom and pop store that is friendly and they cut there customers a deal too when your short on money.I like the idea that you don't need to make an appiontment to groom your dog.I leave my dog and go have a bit somewhere or look at stores. My dog is done quick and smells wonderful : )

This place is disgusting, it smells really bad. The cages this animals are in are in very bad conditions.PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!My boyfriend bought me a dog from here in which she said it was pure breed and it really wasn't. The dog been getting sick all the time since we bought her. I gave one star because I love my dog she has made my son very happy.

Horrible customer service… don’t take your pets there. Called before walking in and was told to go before 5. Got there around 2 after waiting half an hour and then was told they weren’t taking no more dogs. While waiting another lady walked in after me with her dog and was taken straight to the back. Never again ! Very unprofessional

sooo i'm not feeling this place. they're definitely breeding animals, and it always smells bad in this store. some of the animals appear to be hanging out in their own poo / pee all day. not cool man. i know puppies can be uncontrollable, but you shouldn't be letting them hang out in their waste! not to mention there are plenty of animals in the neighborhood that could be adopted. go down the street to petland.

i dont understand how this place is licensed. the animals sit in their own feces and urine all day, there is never any water in the cages or food.they animals they sell arent healthy at all.i got a kitten from there a few weeks ago and now im spending hundreds of dollars on his medical bills because he has parasites and FHV.this place needs to be shut down.

Each and every time the customer service is above and beyond AND personal. When buying a pet you add to your family and when I visit Pet City, im visiting family.

i love this place the owner and i are good friends and i am in there all the time her prices are good unlike petland and petco.And people giving bad reviews you must not know anything cause she was reviewed by the new york post and they loved the place and what she does and no people she do not breed the animals she takes them off of people who give up there pets i should know i had to give up my big pleco cause he was to much trouble and would kill all my other fishes.

MY CAT HAS FELINE LEUKEMIA MOST LIKELY BECAUSE THE ANIMALS AT HER SHOP ARE ALL STUCK TOGETHER IN ONE CAGE PEEING AND POOPING AND VOMITING.
